'Exhausted' Anthony to take Fifth in defamation case, attorney says
Woman's lawyer will argue that Fla. mother should be deposed in civil lawsuit

 ::snipping2::
Green said that Anthony's safety could be put at risk if she had to appear for the deposition next week, WESH reported.

Green said his client would have no choice but to assert her Fifth Amendment rights, WESH reported.

Orlando criminal defense attorney Richard Hornsby, who provides legal analysis for WESH 2 News, told the station that Anthony does have the right to stay silent.

Okay so she stays silent..........then she loses the case, but I am not sure she can stay silent since stupid bozo counter sued. That had to be one more stupid move on his part.

I do not htink any of the civil cases will proceed as long as she has a criminal case..which the appeal is a criminal case appeal...therefore anything she says in the civil case would be seen as detrimental to the criminal case appeal..the civil case and depo will be delayed again..imo.

Here you go Monkey's!

IF ::geraldodance::stayed off of the tube, I would not be curious Smile

Habitat

Rivera lives in a three-house compound in Riverside, New Jersey. The decor of the main house is said to resemble the interior of a submarine, while the second house is stocked with artifacts from Rivera's international travels. He keeps two 1954 Jaguars at his New Jersey home and owns a boat, Belle (named for his daughter), moored on the Hudson River.

He also owns a federally-protected island off the coast of Puerto Rico.

(For environmental purposes, Rivera's residence is a three-story "floating home," powered by generators and docked next to the island.)

He also has a summer estate in Marion, Mass., near Cape Cod, that features a helipad.

http://cityfile.com/profiles/geraldo-rivera

These are my opinions.

My son wrestles against kids from Riverside. I think it's about 1.5 hours from me. Ugggh!

I remember money used to fund the Defense came from MA & CT.

It would be putting salt in everybody's wounds if Xasey ends up on an island near PR.

Titch,

This may be a picture of KC's "great escape" plans.   Speculation under the First Amendment.  Smile

http://www.panoramio.com/photo/235599

I don't know if anyone has been to a private island but we have been with some business associates and I can tell you from my experience it is okay for about a week and then it becomes very boring. We were on our friend's large yacht and had all the finest accommodations, but even that with the scuba equipment and jet skis I was ready to go somewhere else in less than a week. I am easy to please, and love to read, but I can't see KC being able to sit there day after day with nothing to do and no clubs to visit. She has no friends her age because she screwed over all of them and there are just so many men you can pick up, but her problem now will be finding them.

Tumbothink,

I would last five minutes on an island.

She may be doing her interview on the private island.  They may bring in Hoochie -Coochie friends, for her entertainment.

Tim, ZG, The Fake Grandma, LP would not have access to her, for lawsuits.  LP could hunt her down and nothing could be done.

The Reason for the Not Guilty Verdict in the Casey Anthony Case
Posted: 7/15/11 10:12 AM ET

The jury in the Casey Anthony trial was not instructed that circumstantial evidence is entitled to the same weight and consideration as direct evidence. Indeed, the words "circumstantial evidence" do not appear anywhere in the court's charge to the jury. I do not know whether or not the prosecution requested such an instruction, but the court did not give it, and apparently Florida law does not provide or require it.

As part of his investigation, Lyons conducted dozens of witness interviews. He questions the role of Anthony's father, George Anthony.

"When George was asked by the defense team, 'Have you ever sexually abused your daughter,' he never answered," Lyons says. "He just stared. He just stared. For more than 20 seconds, he just stared. And then he was asked if he was having an affair with Christa Holloway … and he denied that. But he never denied sexually abusing his daughter, Casey. He never denied it to us, and so you have to wonder."
 ::snipping2::

Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I'd like to think George was literally speechless from the shock of that question . . . shock, in that he couldn't imagine where that question came from . . . of course, then he realized Casey and Bozo were behind it.

One thing I've learned is you can't pick out a child molestor out in a line up, sometimes the one you never think would do that are doing it and that's how they get away with it, the biggest thing that hit me on that when George was on the stand was he said he would never have "harmed " Casey in that manner, harmed being the key word because molestors don't see it as harming them but rather loving them in their sick minds but perhaps it was just a bad choice of words, who knows but if it did, I am totally adamant that it is no excuse for any behavior she has shown and as a survivor of child molestation, I am totally offended by the reference of it, and IF it happened, shame on Casey and Cindy for leaving Caylee in George's care. This is the road that the defence is travelling down in the appeal.  An attempt will be made to the justify their client's lying to investigators ... lying that was learned at an early age ... lying that resulted from sexual abuse ... lying that resulted from being raised in a disfunctional family.l .

It is is not just the $4,000 fines levied by Judge Perry that are in the balance.

The motion for appeal implies that the current deposition motion will be postponed once again.

If the appeal is successful ... the implication is that the costs of the investigation which  occured as a result of lies will not be recovered by the State of Florida as Casey Anthony will have been found not guilty of ALL prosecution charges..

If an appeal is successful ... the implication is that Casey Anthony can sue the State for three years of wrongful imprisionment as she would have been found not guilty of ALL prosecution charges.

If an appeal is successful ... the implication is that all civil lawsuits filed to recovery costs incurred as a result of Casey's lies ...  will be denied as Casey will have been found not guilty of ALL prosecution charges.

Casey Anthony's release draws near
By the CNN Wire Staff
July 15, 2011 12:22 p.m. EDT

Snipped:

Orlando (CNN) -- When sheriff's deputies arrested Casey Anthony in 2008 over the death of her 2-year-old daughter, few would have anticipated it would end like this: just days after her trial, jailers arranging a clandestine release launching the Orlando woman back into a world where her story could make her rich or put her life in danger.

But that's precisely the scenario that will play out sometime Sunday when Anthony completes serving her time on four misdemeanor counts of misleading police.
Anthony, 25, was acquitted July 5 of murder and child neglect charges in the death of her daughter, Caylee, whose skeletal remains were found in 2008 in a wooded field. She was convicted on four counts of misleading police and was sentenced to four years in prison.
After serving nearly three years in prison while awaiting trial, she was ordered released this weekend.

I just saw on HLN that there will be a hearing on the defamation suit this afternoon, anyone know if we'll be able to see it and when it is exactly?

I had the TV muted, so I didn't hear what was said!

Re my bolded...

If that were true, then Baez wouldn't have turned OCSO away when they offered to investigate George. If they were going to stick with that rumor that they put out there, they should have followed through with the OCSO. OCSO was turned away & blown off.
