Officers said Tatum Contosta was last seen at the Budget Inn Motel on East Vine Street in Kissimmee on July 14.

The boy's mother, Jessica Contosta, left him with 45-year-old Silverio Irizarry. She claims Irizarry, a homeless man addicted to heroin, was supposed to watch her son for about an hour, according to a news release.

Kissimmee police said the boy's mother was arrested on July 14 in Orange County.

Police said they are looking for a 4-year-old boy missing since July 14.

Tatum Contosta was last seen at the Budget Inn Motel, located at 307 E. Vine St.

Kissimmee police issued the alert late Thursday, over a week after Tatum's mother, Jessica Contosta, said she left the boy at the motel with Silverio Irizarry, 45, a homeless man.

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Kissimmee Police are looking for a missing 4-year-old boy who was last seen a week ago.

Investigators say 4-year-old Tatum Contosta was last seen at the Budget Inn Motel at 307 East Vine Street in Kissimmee on July 14.

Mom was arrested back in 2010.  I read somewhere she was a prostitute.  This boy could be anywhere.

Exactly when did this 'mom' let LE know that she's left her child in the care of a homeless heroin addict?  She's been in jail since the 14th and this is the first I've seen of this case.

darling little boy..he must have led a horrible life to this point..
hopefully he is found and will be taken away from this so called mother and given to someone who will give him the kind of life that he deserves!

KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Police officers in Kissimmee said they found a missing 4-year-old boy safe.

The boy was found at a Walgreen's store in Orange County on Friday morning. .

Police said the boy was found with Irizarry at the drugstore on Friday. They also said that Irizarry took very good care of the boy.

Police spokeswoman Stacie Miller says Irrizarry won't be charged since the child was left with him. But detectives are trying to find out where the pair has been for two weeks.

Irizarry, who police said is homeless, is not related to Jessica or Tatum Contosta. They said Irizarry was only supposed to watch Tatum for about an hour.

According to Orange County jail records, Jessica Contosta was arrested on prostitution charges on July 14.

At last check, Contosta was still in jail on charges of prostitution and failure to appear in court on a 2009 theft case. Her total bond is $4,250.

Jail spokesman Allen Moore says Contosta has declined to speak with the media.

The homeless man said the child cried for his mother every night wondering where she was. The man watched the boy, while not knowing she was in jail.

Contosta was found safe Friday at a Walgreens in Orange County with Silverio Irizarry. Irizarry said he didn't realize police were looking for them.

The child's mother, Jessica Contosta, left the boy with Irizarry at a motel on July 14. She would be arrested later that day for prostitution.

Contosta then told Department of Children and Families she left her child with Irizarry and wasn't worried. But DCF couldn't located the pair for a week. Irizarry said the boy was well taken care of.

"He definitely loves pizza, cheeseburgers and rice and beans," Irizarry said.

Police said Irizarry did the best he could in the given circumstances. He is not facing charges. But the boy's mother is looking at child neglect charges.

There will be another custody hearing July 27 so that Contosta's mother can be on-hand for the hearing.

Sounds like this homeless man did take care of this child..he could have abandoned him or worse...sigh...I hope this little boy is taken away from her...where are the rest of this child's family?. Father?

"He's in our care right now but there is a maternal aunt that is willing to take care of him but she's in New Hampshire," the attorney said.

The homeless man who cared for Tatum for a week, 45-year-old Silverio Irrizary, did not face any charges. Police said the child was left in his care and Irrizay did the best he could to feed and take care of him.

Kissimme police do plan to charge Tatum's mother with child neglect.

Officials also said that Tatum's mother does not know the full name of the child's biological father. The man who signed the boy's birth certificate is listed as deceased.
