Who killed Mary Jane LeFlore?
July 23, 2011

HUNTSVILLE — It is a mystery that has perplexed investigators for two decades and has left a family still holding out hope that one day closure will come.

Who murdered Mary Jane LeFlore?

Tuesday marked the 20th anniversary of the day LeFlore failed to return home to her two sons and husband. She was reportedly last seen on July 19, 1991, at West Hill Mall by her husband, Larry. Almost two years later, her remains were found scattered on land in west Walker County.

Investigators followed leads, but the trail eventually went cold.

“The hardest thing is not knowing what happened,” said Marcus LeFlore, Mary Jane’s oldest son, on Monday. “There is nothing more difficult than losing a parent and not knowing what happened to her.”
