While awaiting trial, a judge ruled Noyes incompetent to stand trial and ordered him to be involuntarily placed in a hospital. Judge Richard Hampe wrote that Noyes' mental illness creates "a potentially serious likelihood of danger to himself and others."

Police closed down a mile of road along the Vermont side of the Connecticut River in the area today and were also lined up along Route 3 on the New Hampshire side of the river.

Helicopters are swooping down over the river, but there is no information on what is going on.

Officials are expected to brief the media shortly.

Heavy police presence in Canaan in Celina Cass search

State Police from Vermont and New Hampshire have a heavy presence on the Power House Road in Canaan, Vermont, where the search for a missing 11-year-old New Hampshire girl continues.

This is about a quarter-of-a-mile from where Celina Cass was last seen, in her home in West Stewartstown home on July 25.

There are about three dozens law enforcement officials in the area and the New Hampshire Attorney General was also called to the scene. Reporters were asked to leave the area and the region was blocked off to the public.

CANAAN, Vt., Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Divers searched the Connecticut River near a dam Monday morning for a New Hampshire girl who disappeared a week ago.

Around 10:45 a.m., a dive team emerged from the water in Caanan, Vt., investigators went to the scene and reporters were asked to leave, WMUR-TV, Manchester, N.H., reported.

On Monday morning, Celina's stepfather, Wendell Noyes, was taken by ambulance to a hospital.

I'm putting two and three together. If the truck in the driveway was hauled off by police, and certain things were taken from the home as evidence, and if mother and stepfather keep quiet and are "grieving" before a body is found, and the stepfather has been diagnosed as schizophrenic and is abusive, and if the mother is a doormat... and if the stepfather faints after told a body was found by the chem plant... and there had been no sign of struggle or break-in at the home... and...

... the best thing he can do for himself is confess.

There was a dive team across the street from where I live a month ago. A young man fell and was swept into the river. Thye knew the exact spot and it took hours.
I am guessing that in this case, they knew the exact spot.

hooks up with a serious mentally ill man and lets him around her kids, regardlesss if it was him.

Female body found at dam near missing girl’s home

STEWARTSTOWN, N.H. — A Vermont prosecutor says investigators searching for an 11-year-old New Hampshire girl missing for almost a week have found a female’s body.

Essex County state attorney Vincent Illuzzi says the body was found near a hydroelectric dam. Investigators haven’t identified it yet.
