Senath youth still missing
LECIA FORESTER, Daily Dunklin Democrat
Saturday, August 6, 2011

SENATH, Mo. -- The Dunklin County Sheriff's Department has been called to assist the Senath Police Department in the search for a missing child.

Four-year old Breann Rodriguez was last seen wearing pink and blue clothes, pigtails, and was riding a pink bicycle with training wheels.

When asked the circumstances surrounding the child's disappearance, Wallace Poynor, Chief Deputy with the Dunklin County Sheriff's Department commented, "She was out riding a bicycle and her brother went into the house and came back out, she was gone. Right now she is a missing child.We have no idea about anything else except for the fact she's missing."

· The child has been missing since 12 p.m., today (8/6/11) ,and search parties have been out since then.
· At this time, an Amber Alert has not been issued. Poynor said, "It doesn't meet the criteria for an Amber Alert yet."

"She was riding her bike, her bike is nowhere to be found," said Rodriguez. "We looked all around town, we can't find the bike. I got excited because they found a bike over by my aunt's house. Same exact bike, but it wasn't hers. So...she doesn't ever leave this road…never."

Family and friends are helping authorities search.

Police said Saturday while an Amber Alert has not been issued, they are still taking the case very seriously. A spokesman said any information from the public that can help locate Breeann is appreciated.

"We had a person of interest but they were ruled out," said Senath Chief of Police, Omar Karnes. "We have no clues. We need people to look and help us gather information. Right now there's no one to blame."

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Breeann Rodriguez, contact the Senath Police Department at (573) 738-2818 or the Dunklin County Sheriff's Office at (573) 888-2424.

Holly Brantley is in Senath and will bring the latest on the search on Heartland News at 5 & 6 and kfvs12.com.

Police ask for help in finding missing 3-year-old
Story posted 2011.08.09 at 05:39 AM CDT

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Breeann Rodriguez, contact the Senath Police Department at (573) 738-2818 or the Dunklin County Sheriff's Office at (573) 888-2424.
 ::snipping2::

Monday a news conference was held inside the Senath municipal building that included Senath Police Chief Omar Karnes, FBI Special Agent in Charge out of the St. Louis office Dennis Baker, Dunklin County Sheriff Bob Holder and Breeann's parents.

"I really want to hold her and tell her she is my princess.  Please, if somebody has her bring her back to me," said Breeann's mother Claudia Ramos.

"I realize people make mistakes and I don't care where you drop her off at just make sure somebody can get a hold of her and bring her home," said Edgar Rodriguez, Breeann's father.
 ::snipping2::

Police said an Amber Alert has not been issued because Breeann's disappearance didn't meet the right criteria; to become and Amber Alert, people must suspect foul play and neighbors must have witnessed an actual abduction.

Reward now being offered in case of missing Senath girl
Tuesday, August 9, 2011
Caruthersville Democrat Argus

 ::snipping2::
According to Omar Karnes, Senath chief of police, his agency, along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation Task Force, Dunklin County Sheriff's Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kennett Police Department, and the Bootheel Drug Task Force are investigating the disappearance of Breeann Rodriguez, a young Hispanic female approximately 34-inches tall and weighting about 30 pounds.
 ::snipping2::

On Saturday evening, a "person of interest" was questioned by local authorities, but according to Karnes, no information was obtained during the interview.

"We've run down every lead that has come up," Karnes said. "We have officers from all over Pemiscot County, Dunklin County, Greene County out [searching]. We've been through all houses on street. She was there [then] she was gone. There is nothing. No trace. We don't have any trail."

Authorities are asking for information on a white van that was seen in the area a few days prior to the girl's disappearance. The van is a cargo-type van with no side windows and a ladder mounted on the rear.

Karnes said the street where the child disappeared from is a dead-end street and the people that live there know what vehicles belong on that street, but no one saw anything.

Heard on news that 5 year old brother came in from riding bike with sister.  He was in home 20 minutes before sister noticed missing.  What were parents doing inside the home? I believe there is more to this story.

imo...a 3 and 5 yr old child is too young to be outside by themselves...
Marc Klaas said that last night on NG show and she jumped all over him..but I agree with him..in this day and age, we can not trust that our children are going to be ok outside alone. even if she wasn't taken by someone, a 3 yr old child would and could wander away easily..they have no sense of danger and boundaries imo..
not beating up on this parents, but people have got to start keeping a better eye on their kids....
