Robyn Gardner was employed in a dental office until she lost her job two weeks ago.  The boyfriend said they "quarreled" before she left for Aruba on July 31st.  She'd sent a message to the boyfriend a few hours before she disappeared saying they'd talk and sort things out when she got back and she loved him.  Sound to me like the boyfriend thinks that Gary Giardono may have killed her...the commentator said that the boyfriend originally believed she'd gone to Aruba with a friend, but now believes he was a "romantic rival"...lengthy rap sheet including domestic violence...doesn't sound good.

It was so sad when he said that she was probably calling out for him and he wasn't there (to help her).

It still just doesn't seem right to me.  Could Gary Giardono really be that lucky, to put her in the current just right so that she didn't come back to shore?  Wouldn't there be a sign of her by now if he killed her and put her in the water?

If he was really angry enough to kill her, I still think he could have done something worse like selling her.

I am not sure I understand all the facts surrounding this disappearance.  But one thought that popped into my mind...

The online lover was the one who booked the vacation to Aruba, correct?  If you wanted to make someone "disappear" and you wanted the Keystone Cops to be in charge of the investigation, where would you go to make this happen?

No where else in the world...but Aruba.

Authorities Question Man After Maryland Woman Disappears in Aruba

A Maryland woman vacationing in Aruba has disappeared from the same resort town where Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway was last seen six years ago.

Robyn Gardner, 35, of Frederick, Md., disappeared Aug. 2 from the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino in Oranjestad, MyFoxDC.com reports.

Gardner was visiting the island with a man named Gary Giordano, whom authorities have since detained for questioning, according to the station.

Giordano told investigators that Gardner never made it back to shore after the pair went snorkeling, and has allegedly changed his story several times, the station reports.

Gardner's boyfriend, Richard Forester, said he doesn't believe Giordano's account and pleaded for the public to help find her.

Robyn Gardner, 35, was last seen a week ago, Aug. 2, at the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino in Oranjestad, Aruba, according to the Natalee Holloway Resource Center, an organization that grew out of the Holloway case, also in Aruba. On Friday, four days after Gardner was reported missing, authorities there detained another tourist at the airport, said Ann Angela, a spokesperson for the Aruba’s public prosecutor’s office.

She called the American a “suspect” in the case, but stressed how that covers a wide range of possibilities – from untimely reporting of Gardner’s disappearance to something more serious. “It’s too soon for us to be more specific,” Angela said.

Angela, the prosecutor’s office spokesman, said that on Sunday the suspect and Aruba police went to a beach where the man said Gardner was last seen. In recent days, a local judge ordered him held for an additional eight days while the probe continues, she said.

Forester, who said he has dated Gardner for the last eight months, said he only learned she was in Aruba after she got there. He said he last heard from Gardner a week ago, via a Facebook message in which she told him she loved him.

Forester said that Aruban authorities told him they plan to send Gardner’s Blackberry to the Netherlands for examination. He also said they are looking for clues in her iPad.

A Maryland woman went missing in Aruba.  Robyn Gardner, 35, was vacationing with 50-year-old Gary Giordano, an acquaintance from her hometown, when she disappeared.  Giordano says the two were snorkeling last week, and Gardner never made it back to shore.  Giordano has been detained by police for questioning.  Gardner's boyfriend, who is not Giordano, has contacted the Natalee Holloway resource center for help.

"At this moment we prefer to stick to 'involvement in the disappearance' because the investigation has to show what exactly happened, where she is now, if she's dead, if she's alive," Angela says.

Giordano will go through a series of detention hearings in which a judge will decide whether there are still grounds for him to be held in Aruba, Angela says. The next detention hearing is expected to take place this weekend, and there is no bond or bail in Aruba.

Much earlier in the day, at 2 a.m., Gardner appears to have written on Forester's Facebook wall, saying "this sucks." (Ed. note: See screenshot in photo gallery)

Forester also says Gardner appeared to be signed on to her Gmail account days after she reportedly had drowned, and there was no response when he tried to send her an instant message. He says Aruban authorities have Gardner's BlackBerry and iPad and are trying to access information from them.

I found some old thefts, and a domestic violence 2001 iirc.

   Police in Aruba detain man in connection with Frederick woman's disappearance
   
Robyn Gardner was reported missing last week in Aruba. A Facebook page has been launched to help find her.
   
   The Maryland man who reported Robyn Gardner of Frederick missing in Aruba last week was ordered Monday by a judge in that country to be held for at least eight more days in connection with her disappearance.

Gary Giordano, 50, was arrested Friday at the airport as he was preparing to leave the country, said prosecutor’s office spokeswoman Ann Angela. Angela said authorities suspect Giordano’s involvement in her disappearance.

Giordano told police that he and Gardner were snorkeling on the south side of the island. He said when he returned to shore, Gardner was not with him.

An Urbana man was arrested last week in connection with the theft of merchandise from the Target store in Germantown over the last three months, police said.

Gary Vincent Giordano, 42, of the 9700 block of Royal Crest Circle in Urbana, was arrested at his home Thursday and charged with three counts of theft over $500 and one count of theft by scheme over $500, police said.

Employees at the Target in the Milestone Shopping Center reported that an unidentified man entered the store March 4 and began placing items into a shopping cart -- including PlayStation2 game systems, DVD players, scanners and other electronic items, police said.
