I met Robyn and Gary on the beach in front of the Marriott Stellaris Hotel on Sunday, July 31. They had arrived on that day. My husband and I sat and spoke with them for awhile. They asked my husband and I about activities on the island.... Was shocked to see that this had happened, since we just spoke with them last Sunday, late afternoon. I am sure it was Robyn because I commented on her tatoo, indicating that I liked it. Didn't think they went together as a couple, as he was much older. She was also sitting kind of far away from him on the beach chair. She was nice. We were actually discussing the Natalee Holloway case. I will pray for her return.

Giordano, who is being held by Aruban police in connection with the disappearance, told police Gardner was washed out to sea when the pair went snorkeling.

Richard Forrester, Gardner's boyfriend for two years, says the story doesn’t make sense since Gardner wasn't inclined to swim.

"My gut feeling is that something bad has happened," said Forrester. "I don't think she was snorkeling or in the water at that time, six o'clock at night. She's a very beautiful, beautiful woman who was very concerned about her hair and makeup and I don't think she would have gone into the water to mess that up."

I think we grown ups all know what was going on!  I don't mean to pick on this woman but others should be wary of thinking they can just be "friends" with a man throwing money and trips at them! I do NOT know that this is what was going on but it looks like it could have been. You just can't go off with a man you don't really know and expect him to take it well when they don't want to be his girlfriend.  He probably wanted more from her.  After reading about Baby Beach I guess this could go either way.  He's just too hinky for me to let him off the hook yet.  All MOO!

FREDERICK, Md. — An American man detained in Aruba denies he had anything to do with the disappearance of a woman vacationing with him on the Caribbean island, his lawyer said Tuesday.

Attorney Michael Lopez said his client is being unjustly held in the disappearance of 35-year-old Robyn Gardner of Frederick, Md.

In Frederick, Gardner's boyfriend of two years, Richard Forester, said he just wants her back. The two fought but made up before she left for the trip, Forester claimed.

Lopez said in a statement Tuesday to The Associated Press that Gary V. Giordano has told Aruban police that the woman disappeared in strong ocean currents while they were snorkeling.

FREDERICK, MD - Richard Forester says there's nothing he wants more in the world than to have his beloved girlfriend of over two years, Robyn Gardner, back in his arms.

"I love her with all my heart and just want her back," said Forester.

The Frederick woman disappeared while taking a vacation to Aruba with Gary Giordano.

According to an Aruban newspaper, Giordano and Gardner had met on an online dating site.

When Giordano originally reported Gardner missing, he told police she had never made it back to shore after a snorkeling trip.

Gary Vincent Giordano of Gaithersburg, 50, was arrested in Aruba in connection with the disappearance of Robyn Gardner, 35, according to the Natalee Holloway Research Center in Washington, D.C., who received the information from Gardner’s boyfriend, Richard Forester. NBC reports that Giordano has had several restraining orders against him in Montgomery County by former girlfriends who claim he stalked and physically abused them.

Giordano is listed on the business networking site LinkedIn as the CEO of Leverage LLC, a technology consulting firm based in Gaithersburg. His profile also says he was a consultant for the Red Cross and a sales executive at Sogeti LLC.

The Aruba Herald reported that Giordano and Gardner met on an online dating website and had been seeing each other regularly for weeks.

Another man, Richard Forester, identified himself as Gardner's boyfriend. He told AP that he had thought the relationship between Giordano and Gardner was platonic. But Forester now has his doubts about what was going on. “I'm starting to believe there was some romantic thing,” Forester said. (via AP)

Hey monkeys. I just saw this thread this morning. I haven't even heard of this. I guess it just hit the news over the past couple of days? I started from the beginning but let me get this straight... Robyn has a bf, a steady boyfriend, but she's also on dating sites picking guys up? She had a job interview right before she left for Aruba with a guy she met some time ago on match.com, but lied to the guy that interviewed her by saying she was going away with girlfriends and also that she doesn't have a boyfriend. But Richard Forrester really wants her back home & they supposedly love each other? He loves her & wants her back even though she obviously lied about having a boyfriend & she was apparently cheating on him with Gary Giordano that she met on an online dating site? Sorry, chicks don't play different hands like this unless they're counting cards. Gary has a skeptical past but he could very well be telling the truth. It's so odd to me that Forrester wants her back even though she was in dating sites, lied about having a boyfriend, went to Aruba with a guy that used his points to get her there...who knows how long she's been sleeping with both...but Forrester is pointing the finger at Giordano? That area is bad for the current. That specific beach is close to the stream that could sink ships if people don't know what they're doing.

Maybe Giordano really does have something to do with Robyn's disappearance...but maybe, just maybe, the media is latching into the Natalee Holloway comparison to capitalize on her disappearance since it's slow Casey Anthony days. I mean, I sorta find it odd that they didn't cover the other drienings & disappearances from that beach area but since Robyn looks a little like Natalee they make a comparison to the crime?
