Belated crusaders

Have no fear, Florida legislators are on the case. Troubled by holes in state child protection laws exposed in the recent Casey Anthony trial, lawmakers began tripping over each other with proposals to criminalize the failure to promptly report a missing or dead child.

That groundswell prompted Senate President Mike Haridopolos last week to hatch a Select Committee on Protecting Florida's Children. Its task: probe whether current child protection laws need shoring up.

It's a disgrace that star-struck legislators were moved to do their jobs by Nancy Grace's rants rather than unnerving statistics of Florida's less celebrated but equally innocent victims.

this is just sickening..I hope that the IRS is keeping a good eye on this account and the Anthony's...there are so gross..still sucking off of Caylee's dead little body like a parasite!

I am really disappointed in Dr Phil for doing this interview, he is already appearing sympathetic to them by saying they have been through so much which tells me he will NOT be hitting them with the hard questions and even if he did, I would not expect the answers to be truthful, Cindy was proven to have lied under oath and it's my opinion George did as well. He was however honest I believe when he said he would do anything for his daughter which included lieing at the expense of his grandchild, Caylee. He and Cindy allowed Caylee to rot in the woods while they slept in their nice warm beds just down the street because they lied, covered up and destroyed evidence from the get go in order to save their devil flesh of a daughter. I don't want to hear anything they have to say, I will not be watching.JMO

As for Dr Phil, ugh, I am shocked that he would be making money off a dead 2 yr old child, his ratings will for sure sky rocket unless everyone boycotts and I see already the Anthonys are trying to recruit money under the guise of Caylee's Fund, there is NOTHING they can do for Caylee now, so the need to squash the fund because if they did nothing to help their own grandchild, who can expect that they will do anything to help any other child? Are pople really this ignorant? Well if the jury was any representation, the answer is yes.

Syndicated talk shows  such as “Dr. Phil,” “Rachael Ray” or the upcoming “Anderson” are not bound by traditional newsroom ethics, so they can pay freely for interviews if they choose to do so. Without the network morning shows to get into a bidding war with, and “Oprah” off the air, the syndicated shows may see a opening to snag some big “gets.”

I am wondering if Dr. Phil paid for their vacation to Atlantis that they just went on to console themselves through their grief...   I know it was said that a wealthy business man paid for it whose name I have forgotten...but that could have been a ploy..
wonder how Dr. Phil's wife feels about all this..? course she is on her husbands shirt tail so she probably won't have any strong feelings about it one way or another...jmo...

Don't any of these show biz doctors ever have any qualms about promoting the glorification of a murder by pandering to the family who obviously aided and abetted the killer?

The A's are hard core publicity seekers who dictate what questions they'll answer so the program host goes into the deal already knowing that they have an agenda protected by a contract. It's all for ratings. What happened to integrity? 

It's such a joke at this point, the interview has already been done, money deposited into their hands by way of the "donation" and not one thing is considered wrong with it. Dr. Phil can pretend that he's asking the tough questions and taking the high road but anybody who followed this case knows what's really going on.

One comment, however, stood out: It came from Drew Kesse, the father of missing Jennifer Kesse. Jennifer was 24 when she disappeared in 2006. Orlando police believe she was abducted from her condominium near the Mall at Millenia.

Drew Kesse complained that the Anthonys are “a disgrace and an insult to every missing person and their families.”

Kesse wrote: “Let’s make this very clear, Caylee was murdered. She was never missing and should not ever be considered missing at any time during the entire ordeal. Caylee has never been the center of anything since she was killed. Everyone else in her family has, but the true victim — not.”
