Casey Anthony's defense team filed an emergency petition Wednesday with an appeal court, asking the judges to vacate Judge Belvin Perry's recent order that will require her to report to probation by the end of next week.

Casey Anthony Defense Appeals Probation Order
Anthony Ordered To Serve 1 Year Probation

Anthony's defense team filed the appeal late Wednesday afternoon with the district court of appeal in Daytona Beach.

The appeal requests an expedited review. Perry ordered that Anthony return to Orange County to serve the probation by no later than noon on Aug. 26.

Those were for 2009.  Here is for 2010.  They have less money to work with but did an admirable job of taking out almost twice the amount of revenue they made for administrative expenses.  Not sure how you can be in the hole for $1,020.58...but by golly they seem to be!

Judge Perry took over after Strickland recused himself. Perry, in his order, blamed the defense for knowing that Anthony was supposed to serve probation upon release, but an error in the written order from Judge Strickland left that out.

The attorneys closed the writ by saying, "That the court feels it necessary to chastise the defense (and the defense alone—by name) for not bringing this matter to the court’s attention is, at best, misplaced."

Thank you for posting all this info, I haven't gotten my e-mail together yet but will have it done by the end of the night. I am grateful that Dr Phil gave us plenty of notice for when the sharks will be on his show so people have time to let him know how they feel and perhaps keep it from airing. Baez has been the target of several other Bar inquires since taking on Anthony's case in the summer of 2008. Anthony was acquitted last month on charges of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Marie.

*In September 2009, the Bar cleared Baez of an ethical complaint accusing him of getting paid inappropriately in the case.

*That same month, the Bar cleared Baez of ethics allegations made by private investigator Dominic Casey, who claimed Baez never paid him. He also said the attorney told him to walk away from Caylee's remains if he ever found them and contact Baez. Both complaints were dismissed based on insufficient evidence.

*Strickland wrote the Bar about the Dominic Casey incident, also resulting in no formal action against Baez.

*The Bar initiated its own investigation into Baez after the State Attorney's Office faxed news releases that seemed to be generated on his behalf by his former spokesman that were critical of State Attorney Lawson Lamar. The Bar found no disciplinary proceedings against Baez were appropriate.

*The Bar confirmed a separate complaint against Baez in early February. Specific details about that complaint have not been released.
