Man arrested in Holly Bobo case released, Brother remains jailed

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - One of the two brothers recently arrested in the ongoing investigation into the disappearance and murder of nursing student Holly Bobo has bonded out of jail.

Jeffrey Pearcy, 42, was arrested in Henderson County on May 29 on charges of tampering with evidence and accessory after the fact.

He was released on a $25,000 bond late Wednesday afternoon following an arraignment earlier in the day.

Under the conditions of his bond he must wear a GPS monitoring device and have no contact with a witness in the case.

News 2 has learned prior to his arrest, Jeffrey Pearcy only had minor traffic violations on his record.

His brother, 38-year-old Mark Pearcy, was arrested on the same charges days later, on May 31, in neighboring Carroll County.

Neighbors told Nashville’s News 2 investigators searched an RV and property where Mark Pearcy was living prior to his arrest.

hmmmmm....so what is the connection of these two Pearcy half bros to the three A's?   Interesting the one half-bro is a registered sex offender, their involvement is over a reported video & that makes me wonder what demented evil acts were carried out before or during the commission of Holly's murder

Suspect Charged In Connection With Bobo Case Scheduled To Appear In Court

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A suspect charged in connection with the disappearance of nursing student Holly Bobo is scheduled to appear in a Decatur County courtroom Monday morning.

Mark Lynn Pearcy is scheduled to go before a judge at 9 a.m.. Pearcy was arrested on May 29 and charged with Accessory After the Fact and Tampering with evidence.

Pearcy’s brother , Jeffrey, was also arrested in May and faces similar charges. He appeared in court for the first time last week. A not guilty plea was entered and Jeffrey was released on $25,000 bond. He was required to wear a GPS tracker on his ankle at all times.

Attorney Olin Baker said the charges against the brothers were related to the possible existence of a video which shows Holly after she was taken from her home in Decatur County three years ago.

Court documents obtained by NewsChannel 5 said Jeffrey Pearcy has a video on an electronic device "that will prove to be beneficial in the prosecution of a current on-going investigation being conducted by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation."

Those documents showed that, according to a witness, Mark Pearcy was identified as being in that video when it was recorded. Officials would not comment on the content of the video.

NewsChannel 5 will attend Monday's court appearance. Check back to NewsChannel5.com for the latest in the case.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A suspect charged in connection with the disappearance of nursing student Holly Bobo appeared in a Decatur County courtroom Monday morning.

Mark Lynn Pearcy wore a bullet proof vest over his black and white prison jumpsuit, as well as handcuffs and shackles on his feet. Pearcy told the judge he had not hired an attorney, so the court appointed a public defender from Jackson, as there was a conflict of interest with the Decatur County public defender.

The judge set his bond at $65,000, and set a preliminary hearing for next Monday.

The judge set his bond at $65,000, and set a preliminary hearing for next Monday.

Holly Bobo's family pastor spoke after the brief two-minute hearing.

"What does it mean to them every time there's a new arrest? Well there's lots of tension that goes with victim family's and any time there's additional activity in this case it is difficult on the family," said Don Franks.

Pearcy was arrested on May 29 and charged with Accessory After the Fact and Tampering with evidence.

Man accused in Bobo case also faces gun, sex-offender registration charges
Mark Pearcy charged with accessory, tampering with evidence in Holly Bobo case

June 17, 2014

DECATURVILLE — A man charged with tampering with evidence in the Holly Bobo investigation also faces charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and violation of sex-offender registration requirements, according to court documents.

The gun and sex-offender registration charges against Mark Pearcy are unrelated to the Bobo case but were filed around the same time as his arrest in that case.

According to an affidavit, investigators found a .22-caliber handgun hidden inside an RV where Pearcy had been living on Middleburg Road in Decaturville. Pearcy, 38, was convicted of aggravated statutory rape, a felony, in Decatur County in 2000.

Pearcy also is charged with a violation of registry and reporting requirements for sex offenders. According to court documents, he is accused of failing to notify the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office of his primary and secondary addresses. The state sex offender registry lists two addresses for him on Campground Road in Decaturville but does not include the RV address or an address in Lexington that’s on his arrest warrant.

Mark Pearcy and his brother Jeffrey Pearcy are both charged with tampering with evidence and accessory after the fact in the Holly Bobo kidnapping and murder investigation. Both men have pleaded not guilty.

Mark Pearcy was in Decatur County General Sessions Court on Monday for a scheduled preliminary hearing, which was postponed until 1 p.m. next Monday.

Attorney Mike Cash, of Jackson, will represent Mark Pearcy. Cash declined to comment on the case after court Monday.

According to affidavits filed in Henderson and Decatur counties, a witness saw a video connected to the Bobo case and told the TBI about it. The witness who watched the video believes a voice on the recording is Mark Pearcy’s, according to court documents.

The witness who spoke to TBI investigators has known Mark Pearcy for about 17 years, according to an affidavit.

The court documents state that Jeffrey Pearcy told the witness about the video, and that Jeffrey Pearcy then left the witness’s home and went to see Mark Pearcy. Jeffrey Pearcy returned to the witness’s home with the video and used an electronic device to show the video to the witness, the affidavit says.

Jeffrey Pearcy, 42, is charged in Henderson County and was released on bond.

Mark Pearcy is charged in Decatur County, but is being held in the Carroll County Jail. His bond was set at $65,000.

Man suspected in Holly Bobo case speaks out about video

Reported by Carley Gordon

Jeffrey Pearcy

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Investigators believe there could be a video that shows what happened to Holly Bobo, and one man who supposedly knows something about it is now speaking out.

Jeffrey Pearcy is one of the latest men accused in the Bobo case.

"I have no video. I have not seen a video, never even heard of the video until I was questioned about it the day of my arrest," Pearcy said.

Pearcy said he's never met Holly Bobo or any of her family members. And he said he doesn't know the two men charged with her kidnapping and murder, Zach Adams and Jason Autry.

"As far as me being around anyone that would even be affiliated with anything like that, I wouldn't want to hang around people like that. I work, and I come home and I raise kids," Pearcy said.

Yet, Pearcy and his half-brother, Mark Pearcy, now stand accused of hiding some sort of video that could help investigators solve Bobo's murder case.

"I don't know if they're grasping at straws," Jeffrey Pearcy said. "This is the closest thing to a modern-day witch hunt that I've ever seen."

Jeffrey Pearcy now has to wear an ankle monitoring system after going to jail. He also lost his job as a master jeweler.

"They made life a living hell for me," he said.

And he says he's struggling to raise his six kids.
