Aruba Murder Suspect Appealing Extended Jail Stay
Sept. 2, 2011

Gary Giordano, the prime suspect in the disappearance of Robyn Gardner, plans to challenge an order by an Aruban judge to hold him in jail for an additional 60 days on the Caribbean island.

Giordano's attorney Michael Lopez plans to file the appeal by Monday, the Associated Press reported. An Aruban judge ordered that Giordano's stay in jail be extended on Wednesday.

If Giordano is forced to stay in jail, his time behind bars will be more comfortable than his first month. Giordano has a telephone, email, media and TV privileges. While he'll have no visitors, he is allowed two phone calls a day. It's a far cry from the unlimited use of his personal cell phone before he was arrested. His outgoing message still sounds upbeat.

Aruba Murder Suspect Appealing Extended Jail Stay
Sept. 2, 2011

<snipped>

In the meantime, a source told ABC News that FBI investigators working the case in the United States are struggling to get information from the Aruban authorities. The source said the FBI is considering enlisting the help of international diplomatic channels to try to increase the cooperation of Aruban authorities.

Did the FBI consider "enlisting the help of international diplomatic channels to try to   increase the cooperation of Aruba Authorities" in the Natalee Holloway case?

Grace-land touched on this and I have been thinking about it recently...

For arguement's sake, let's say she did drown.  He goes to get help and then LE is called in.  We all know he tried to leave the country and he said she was leaving on another plane (did I dream that?).  Anyway, where is her stuff?  If she really did drown, wouldn't he have packed it and returned it to her family or LE?  If he left her stuff at a hotel, doesn't that show lack of concern for her as well?  Were all of her bathing suits accounted for, if she WAS snorkeling (which we know she wasn't) but would not one of them be missing.  I bet her friend could account for that.

It just seems her personal belongings could reveal alot of clues.

I highly doubt that she drowned - they float back to shore in Aruba.

The picture is from this past weeks Amigoe where a presumed homeless man was found drown floating near the shore at Bikker & Gomez at

Aruban prosecutors released a surveillance image of a car in their search for witnesses in the disappearance of Robyn Gardner.

At 5:59 p.m. Aug. 2, the day Gardner disappeared, a white Hyundai Getz was headed north between the Rum Reef Restaurant and the sea. Authorities think the people inside may have seen the rented Toyota RAV4 suspect Gary Giordano, 50, of Gaithersburg, and Gardner, 35, of Frederick, used during their trip to the island parked by the restaurant. It’s also possible they saw Giordano and Gardner, according to the prosecutor’s office.

New plea for public's help in Aruba case

 (CBS News)

 ORANJESTAD, Aruba -- Authorities in Aruba made a fresh plea to the public late Friday night for any information on Gary Giordano, who is being held in the disappearance of his traveling companion, fellow American tourist Robyn Gardner.

 Though he's been detained for a month, reports CBS News correspondent Elaine Quijano, Girodano has yet to be charged with a crime, and has denied any wrongdoing.

 He is challenging the ruling of an Aruban judge this week that extended his incarceration in an Aruban jail by 60 days.

 His attorney, Michael Lopez, said he plans to appeal the ruling Monday before a three judge panel.

 Giordano, 50, a businessman from Gaithersburg, Md., says he was snorkeling on the island with Gardner, 35, of Frederick, Md. early last month when she vanished, apparently having been swept out to sea.

 The pair met online.  ::snipping2::

 Authorities believe Gardner is dead, but her body hasn't been found.  ::snipping2::

 On "The Early Show on Saturday Morning," famed defense attorney Rob Black, who isn't involved in this case but whose clients have included William Kennedy Smith and Rush Limbaugh, said prosecutors have their work cut out for them proving Giordano was responsible for Gardner's disappearance and presumed death.

 "It's just purely circumstantial evidence at this time," Black, speaking from Miami, told co-anchor Russ Mitchell, "and I say purely -- there obviously are some interesting facts leading up to the disappearance of this young woman. But the problem is, without a body, it is very hard to make a case like this, because how do you prove it's not accidental? So, while he has acted very strangely and there are some unusual circumstances, this is certainly not a slam-dunk case."

Birmingham, Ala (WIAT)  The Robyn Gardner disappearance on Aruba resonates here in Alabama because of eerie similarities to two other cases.

The disappearance of Mountain Brook teen Natalee Holloway on a graduation trip to Aruba in 2005 became an international sensation as Aruban authorities questioned but never charged local teen Joran van der Sloot in the case.  Van der Sloot went on to years of notoriety punctuated by false "confessions" and wild claims on Dutch TV before surfacing again as the confessed murderer of a Peruvian student he met at a Lima poker tournament.  Van der Sloot was finally formally charged last week with killing 21 year old Stephany Flores.  Her corpse was found in his Lima hotel room five years to the day of Natalee's disappearance.

The other case with strange vibes to Gardner's disappearance is the drowning death of Tina Watson on her honeymoon in Australia.    Husband Gabe Watson was charged with murder in her death but did a guilty plea on manslaughter charges and served 18 months in an Australian prison.  He was extradited back to Alabama to face murder charges here.  State prosecutors claim he conspired to kill Tina for an insurance payout.  Watson is out on bail awaiting trial on those charges.

A Tale of Two Murders: Joran Van der Sloot Charged with Murder of Stephany Flores … Beth Holloway Says, “God bless the Peru authorities for handling this thoroughly and professionally”

http://scaredmonkeys.com/2011/09/04/a-tale-of-two-murders-joran-van-der-sloot-charged-with-murder-of-stephany-flores-beth-holloway-says-god-bless-the-peru-authorities-for-handling-this-thoroughly-and-professionally/

Call it a tale of two crimes and the tale of how two countries handled the same crime in complete contrast manners. One country lets a sociopath loose on the rest if society to kill again, the other one rightfully charges him with murder and cages the criminal protecting society.

Quote
“It was the best of times (Peru), it was the worst of times (Aruba), it was the age of wisdom (Peru), it was the age of foolishness (Aruba), it was the epoch of belief (Peru), it was the epoch of incredulity (Aruba), it was the season of Light (Peru), it was the season of Darkness (Aruba), it was the spring of hope (Peru), it was the winter of despair (Aruba), we had everything before us (Peru), we had nothing before us (Aruba), we were all going direct to Heaven (Peru), we were all going direct the other way (Aruba) –in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good (Peru) or for evil (Aruba), in the superlative degree of comparison only.”

 ::snipping2::

Why is it that Giordano and van der Sloot are not being handled the same?

Why?  Gary Giordano is not the son of a Aruban/Dutch elite.

BETH TWITTY, NATALEE HOLLOWAY’S MOTHER: Remember, within the first 24 hours, we knew who the suspects were. We knew the persons that Natalee were taken from Carlos and Charlie‘s. We knew the license plate of the gray Honda they placed her in. We knew the condition that Natalee was in. We knew the behavior or the conduct in which they engaged in with Natalee.

And then not only that within 72 hours, we knew that their first story was totally fabricated, that within the first 72 hours, I faced a room of 12 — at least 12 detectives, Aruban and Dutch detectives, and a lead detective, Dennis Jacobs (ph), and they knew after we reviewed video footage from the Holiday Inn casino lobby that my daughter had never been brought back to the Holiday Inn. They knew that those suspects were fabricating a story from day one.

Something that the family knew—and we have to keep reminding everyone—after 72 hours — 72 hours—we knew definitively that these suspects were not telling the truth. We knew that my daughter had never been brought back to the Holiday Inn. Of course we were becoming frustrated. Who wouldn‘t, at this point? You know, we—and what was so unbelievable about this, is they knew this information and still chose to pursue the two security guards on June the 5th.

Robyn Gardner: Can A Psychic See Her Way Through The Mysterious Mists Of The “Aruba Triangle” ?
Posted on September 4, 2011 by Psychic Carla Baron

 ::snipping2::

I am not reading a tale from the latest best-selling crime novel.

No, this horror story is REAL.  All too real.

Her name is Robyn Gardner.

The predator companion is Gary Giordano.

You may recall an earlier version of this same scary story featuring the female victim, Natalee Holloway. The male predator – none other than accused killer, Joran van der Sloot, who is currently residing in a Peruvian prison, formally charged with first-degree murder in last year’s killing of a university student (Stephany Flores) whom he met at a Lima casino. They are seeking a 30-year jail sentence.

Enter the Psychic Profiler.

The hit paranormal crime series, “Haunting Evidence,” (truTV) was my introduction to the island of Aruba, regarding the disappearance of a beautiful young, blonde teenage girl named Natalee, wide-eyed with wonder for what her future life may hold.

During our filming on this isle just off the coast of Venezuela, not only was the terrain rougher than expected … but we were not exactly welcomed by the authorities.

In fact, the final night of filming on the beach – 2 of our crew members were sitting in the local jail. The authorities even wanted to search our hotel rooms because they were paranoid about some customs paperwork apparently misplaced, documenting our production trunks shipped via Fedex. (It’s a super long story.)

I would now like to extend my sincerest gratitude to our amazing, loyal hotel staff for protecting all our rooms & all our private things from this invasive attempted room search.

(So great they were!)

We barely had 90 minutes to “get it all,” while officers who lined the beach location where we were filming prompted us with sidearms to move it along.

(In other words. .. Get the hell out!)

Yes, she is a tool.

I'm sure a lot of people end up in situations they normally wouldn't have put themselves into after being slipped date rape drugs by predatory scumbags.

I'm also sure those predatory scumbags, and AHATA appreciate hodog "Glenda" blaming the victims.

I hope she keeps playing with fire...

New plea for public's help in Aruba case

CBS News)  ORANJESTAD, Aruba -- Authorities in Aruba made a fresh plea to the public late Friday night for any information on Gary Giordano, who is being held in the disappearance of his traveling companion, fellow American tourist Robyn Gardner.

Aruba Suspect Appeals Jail Ruling
UPDATED: 1:55 pm CDT September 5, 2011

ORANJESTAD, Aruba (CNN) -- A Maryland man, detained in Aruba in connection with the disappearance of an American woman, filed an appeal Monday to a recent ruling keeping him behind bars for another 60 days.

Gary Giordano's lawyer said the appeal hearing will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m.

A three-judge appellate panel will either affirm the earlier ruling and keep Giordano in custody or else set him free

I stand with the girl, Natalee Holloway.

"I can look back over the past 10 years and there were no steps wasted, and there are no regrets,'' she said. "I did all I knew to do and I think that gives me greater peace now." "I've lived every parent's worst nightmare and I'm the parent that nobody wants to be," she said.
