A motorcycle group has shown up on their own and created a human shield to prevent people from taking pictures of the casket.  They seem to be staying outside to ensure nothing will disrupt the services.  God Bless them  an angelic monkey

Edit-
Trimm, you will need to  upload images to photobucket, image shack and etc. if you want to use images from the site where you had tried to use an image.  They don't allow hot linking.  I believe it's a bandwidth issue. MB

Thousands attend funeral for Susan Powell’s boys
By nate carlisle, Melinda Rogers and Brooke Adams

Tacoma, Wash. • Amid tight security, a huge line snaked from the entrance through the parking lot of Life Center Church here Saturday as friends, family members and dozens of people who never even knew Charlie and Braden Powell gathered to pay final respects to the boys murdered last Sunday by their father.

Opening the memorial service, Dean Curry, lead pastor of Life Center Church, said it was a time of remembering "two beautiful boys, works of art," and to set aside the anger and acrimony associated with the circumstances of their deaths.
 ::snipping2::
The boys’ grandparents, Chuck and Judy Cox, briefly took the platform to thank the thousands of people who had reached out to them "through this trial that we’ve endured" with "support and prayers of people of all faiths." Those sentiments helped "us to be strong, and helps us to know that there are good people in the world."

Chuck Cox closed by saying he and his wife were comforted by believing that the boys "are with their mother" in heaven.

Charlie Powell’s kindergarten teacher remembered the 7-year-old’s wit, intelligence and love of nature. "He was an amazing young man. He had an appreciation of nature I had never seen in someone so young," she said, recalling he loved to collect bugs, rocks and plants. Charlie even helped produce a book on "How to Grow Plants," the teacher said, going so far as to design a cover with "a detailed bar code" and offering "free seeds to the first 100 people who purchased the book."

Braden Powell’s teachers recalled the 5-year-old as having "a sharp mind and big imagination," illustrated with his creations from Tinker Toys and Legos. He was also described as a "budding puzzle master . ... with contagious, joyful energy."
 ::snipping2::
Tim Sloan, a friend of the Cox family, underscored the memorial service’s theme as "a celebration of life," though he acknowledged that, "We still at times feel an emptiness and sorrow for why and how this tragedy could happen."

Addressing both "friends and family knit together" in their grief, Sloan said all shared the question: "Where do we go from here when we hurt so badly ... is there no balm in Gilead? Oh God where art thou, we may ask. ... Where can we anchor our hope and longing for comfort?"

The answer, he said, was to "trust God for what we cannot comprehend," and to know that "God’s plan for us is one of happiness. . . . for all that is broken, all that is hurting, all that is unfair ... we can trust him [as an] anchor of faith and hope [to help us] get through the sorrow we feel for Charlie and Braden."

That's exactly what the issue is and really you should save the image to your PC then upload to photobucket or flickr or one of those.  I haven't seen this problem in a long time but it is perfectly understandable.

It's not always a problem but when they have bandwidth issues it becomes a problem for them.

Family, teachers remember Powell boys in Tacoma
By RACHEL LA CORTE, Associated Press – 4 minutes ago

 ::snipping2::
More than 1,000 people attended Saturday's public funeral at Life Center Church in Tacoma, Wash. Many of those attending wore purple and blue ribbons in memory of Charlie and Braden.

At the service, two teachers shared their memories and read letters from other instructors who had interacted with the boys.

Charlie was remembered as a kid fascinated with science and insects, often trying to sneak worms or caterpillars into the classroom. He was about to get glasses and loved to write, dreaming up plans to market his books.

"He is safe in his mother's arms," said Tammy Ougheon, Charlie's kindergarten teacher in Utah.

His younger brother, Braden, preferred cars and trains, teachers remembered, and last Halloween got to dress up as a Transformer. Braden, teachers said, loved to be tickled.

"His little spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew him," said Kristie King, an instructor at a YMCA that Braden attended.

Reading at Blink On Crime this afternoon and the generator story Josh told is bothering Blink.  It's bothering me too.  Josh gave specific directions to shut off the utilities. Why do we use utilities? For heat, water, and light where we live. This is probably wishful thinking on my part, but I wouldn't put it past the Powells to have a live Susan stashed somewhere. Josh was very methodical in his planning.  People bent on committing suicide (much less a double murder-suicide) aren't worrying about utilities. The utilities are important to Josh for a reason and Sister Dearest knows where those utilities are located and how to shut them off.  Both Steve and Josh seem so vindictive, killing Susan seems almost too easy. The only other thing that comes to mind for utilities, is that the Powells have cartoon-caricature incest or real child porn (maybe involving the boys) somewhere in their possession.  I would not be surprised if Steve/Josh weren't producing it and it "stars" family members. I'd like to know who Michael and Alina Powell have been communicating with in the last two years, as well as Nathan Leake.  Since the Powell adult children lived in Steven's house and Josh supposedly lived in the totally destroyed rental, Josh wouldn't need any utilities turned off at either of those two locations. So, giving Alina instructions to turn off the utilities means she'd have to know where.  Doesn't that make her an accessory after the fact, knowing Josh was violating the terms of custodial visits with respect to establishing a residence, independent of Steve?  Considering she was the recipient of his bank funds, he would have had to have known in advance her bank routing & transit # and account#. So, when did she give it or deposit tickets to him? Was the money deposited via teller, ATM, Night Depository, or Automatic Transfer?  I'm just not buying her whole story-waaay to many holes, inconsistencies, inexplicable answers to simple questions like Josh's address.  Why would a soon-to-be dead man need $7K?  The $7k, plus the utilities comment, almost sounds like someone being paid the final installment for keeping someone to me.  Just my opinions.

I have been wracking my small brain for 1 or 2 days. There is just no good reason to have a comforter lying around with blood stains on it.

Wash it, pitch it, get a new one... is my motto. If you hang on to one... you either have hygiene issues, are a nut, or perhaps both at the same time?

The worst I had on mine was slobber once... when I was really tired... I try never to bleed on it.

I think that might add up to something. I can't wait until they announce the results.

Stained comforter in Powell unit tests positive for blood

According to a search warrant document obtained by KOMO News, the green-blue-and-pink comforter was found in a storage unit that Josh Powell had rented in the Tacoma area.

A stain was found on the comforter that tested positive for blood in field tests.

Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist said the presumptive test was conducted with a field kit and that a determination of blood won't be confirmed until the item is examined in the lab. "Field tests are not infallible," he said. ::snipping2::

Carpe- ITA with you about why would anyone keep a comforter that is stained- and blood stained at that.  He obviously had no intention of trying to clean it now, did he? (with it being packed up and all).

But with all due respect, women do bleed.  It will be interesting to see how much blood and the stain pattern? And of course, whose blood.

He was sick - who can reason with what he did.

The comforter issue bothers me too!  As well as all the papers Josh allegedly took to the dump on Saturday.

He supposedly visited the storage unit that Saturday.  If he's going to kill the boys and himself the next day, why did he leave the bloody comforter that may link him to the murder of Susan behind to be found? Or maybe he wanted it found?

Why take the papers to the dump, when you plan on destroying yourself and the house by fire?  A fire would destroy evidence better than dumping it!
