Update on my sister, they did tests today, they told her they think she has gastritis and/or IBD. She didn't take it too well, she still thinks she has SMA. 

I still believe she has the IBD, been under stress alot and from what I hear from a lot of monkeys, stress will cause it. Told her to be glad it isn't SMA and to keep calm, if not it won't help her belly.

I want her to get well, just don't want her to have some kind of surgery that is not necessary.

You know, maybe it could be IBD.  When my son was younger, he had belly pains so bad we took him to the ER twice, thinking perhaps it was his appendix.  Exploratory surgery was even being discussed.  We finally figured it out when my son was at the doctor's office for something else and he had a pain attack in his belly.  The doctor gave him "Levsin" (Hyoscyamine)  to put under his tongue and he had almost immediate relief.  Since that time, my son has grown up but he still deals with the IBD and it is definitely worse with stress.  Greasy foods don't agree with him and we also found he has a milk intolerance we never knew he had.  He tries to eat healthy and includes plenty of fiber in his diet and drinks lots of water.  And he tries to exercise regularly, which he says helps with the stress.  Even with all of that, he sometimes still suffers, but it's much better than it was.  My Mom and one brother also have IBD, so I guess it can run in the family.  My Mom isn't bothered so much with greasy foods as she is with some vegetables and a few other things that are harder to digest.  I bought them the book IBS for Dummies.  There are probably better or newer drugs these days than "Levsin", and etc., but at the time, it was a lifesaver.  My son would come and tell me he's having a "Levsin" pain. 

I can imagine your sister's stress is way off the charts right now JSM.  I hope ya'll get the answers you need and she feels better soon.

I'm sorry Sister.   As you prepare to help Nordie  go beyond his pain, please know there are many of us with you in spirit.  So many of us have walked in your shoes with our hearts bursting with love and grief.  And I know there will come a time when I will have to do it again for my pets and it's so hard to let them go.

I know that Nordie was a rescue animal so I just came back from a small local rescue group and now each dog has a squeeky toy and each cat has a catnip mouse of their own. These were donated with love from your rescued pet Nordie. Nothing will ever replace the place he had in your heart but when you are feeling down think of the antics of all these rescued guys playing with their toys from your boy.  Prayers from everyone at Wise Ass Acres.

Muffy, sorry your son and family has the IBD. That is great the doctor figured it out and that one pill worked.  I went to the hospital and they still haven't given her a diagnosis. I really think it is the IBS. She ate this morning and immediately bent over in pain. I think when they discharge her, she is going to go to the GI doctors at my hospital, that way I can get her results on any radiology tests she has done immediately and my cousin is a nurse in the GI lab at another hospital, which is affiliated with the GI doctors at my hospital. Thanks for the prayers and from what you are saying the diet change and stuff that is what I think this doctor is trying to get her to do.

Sister I woke up in the middle of the night to check and see if there was any news on Nordie, when I saw your post this morning/afternoon. I broke down. I feel the pain you are going through, it is not easy and please if you feel like you need to talk about Nordie, PLEASE DO IT. You can't imagine how much all the monkeys helped me through the loss of Josef and we are here for you as well.

I bottle it in during the day and scream and cry at night, just know that I am praying for your heart to heal.

I actually did something creative today  My sister made cupcakes for a wedding and asked if I would help her do the set up. I did this all by myself (not the cupcakes, but the setup)

Thank you Muffy. I tried one of the pies  But the cupcakes were good, chocolate, white, lemon and something called I think hummingbird cake.  Those were good.
