The picture says it all. The memory of holding him will stay there, but it fades some knowing that you did everything you could do. Take my word for it JSM.   

Thank you No Rose, it wasn't just me, the whole PetLodge was in there with me along with my best friend and her husband. I hope the memory of holding him doesn't fade, I just hope he knows I did the best I could for him and loved him with all my heart.

He does, and there was a peacefulness almost that maybe you felt like I did. No more suffering. I have to go, but will be thinking about you all day.

  Thank you Cookie, I loved the poem and picture Brandi made and No Rose's post I read at lunch with my family and I was so glad to see her I broke out in tears at the restaraunt.

This was us getting our kisses from Josef, all the girls at Daycare were there with me getting kisses as well. I hope it doesn't bother anyone, just wanted to show you all how much he was loved and was a loving dog til the end.

Okay, no more depressiveness. Not going to do me any good.

Thank you Can, I hope I did good for Josef. I thank God for all monkeys, CC and the PetLodge. I just wish love would take the pain away. It hurts so bad. My heart is cracking into tonight.

That Internet Dog...

"Hey Mimi, how's your friend's dog doing? What's his name again? Oh ya, Joseph. Is he still going to school? What grade is he in now? Does he still bite her butt? He's a funny dog, Mimi! Do you think Ozzie will go to school with him?"

That's how Joe will be remembered at our house. I'd tell my grandkids about one of my friends online who had a dog who went to school, monday thru friday, just like the grands do. I showed them a pic of Joe in his uniform and we laughed and laughed! They think my friend must be an awesome dog mommy, to send her dog to school everyday. They know it's not free, like their school is, and they think it's very nice that my friend doesn't want Joe to be alone all day. They know she must be the best dog mom out there, even better than Mimi and Papa. Well, we all admit that Ozzie is too old to go to school, and so is Buddy (oldest sidekick's 10 yr old German Shephard). They think it's AWESOME that Joe and Ozzie and Bandit are all from Australia. We sorta used that for a geography lesson.

So, Stacy, you and Joe have made a big impact in a tiny little part of Northern Michigan. I will tell them that Joe is at the rainbow bridge, along with Bandit, and he's waiting for you. Of course, I will have to tell them that Joe and Bandit are prolly arguing about who gets what dog biscuits, and then they are friends again, chasing some darn cats (apologies to cat people here).

You were a FABULOUS dog mom, Joe was very lucky to have you. We will all pray for you. Thank goodness you have CC and Ruby...guys are kinda like dogs, ya know. Always scratching, wanting to be petted.....

JSM - I thought about you all day. I am so sorry and my heart is breaking for you. I have no pretty poems (It was wonderful Brandi!) but I do know the pain. I just want you to know that I send my love to you and that you should know you were a great dog mom - better than most I know and I know a lot of dog people. Joe knew it too. He showed it in the video. I hope the memories of him comfort you. It sounds cliche but time will heal - After almost two weeks I know that I did right by Kiki - the vet told me that it was a loving act to save them from a painful passing. What you did takes more love than most people have. I will keep you and CC in my prayers. {{{{hugs}}}}

I told her that Josef will come Ruby and me in our dreams tonight and will relay a message to Stacey tomorrow as she sleeps and grieves. JSM I have stayed off line today because my heart is breaking for your loose of Josef. You know how much you and Josef are loved and cared for here in the cage. May God bring you peace over Josef's passing.

Everyone had wonderful things say. Try and remember you were blessed with Josef for many years.

JSM...I am so sorry...How brave you were to  let Joe go...my heart breaks for you..it seems that all the monkeys have one thing in common and thats the love for their animals..my tears flowed as read the news...it is truely like loosing a friend,  you have shared Joe with us  by telling  all the funny stories about him as well as this journey you two have been on with his health, I may not post often but I come here every night to read..I know Joe is romping across clouds and nipping butts and watching over you..Take care and my prayer is for you to feel the comfort of God's loving arms around you and give you peace. ::MonkeyAngel:

OMG, JSM, I am so sorry.  I have been feeling sorry for myself and here you are going through such pain.  I have not been on all week, finally checked in to read all the lovely posts from all the wonderful monkies here and then all your posts about Josef.  I am so so sorry.  You did everything you could for Josef, he was very loved and he knows it.  Do not ever think you didn't do enough.  My god girl, your whole world is Josef. 

I am so sorry.  I do not know what else to say.  I am horrible with things like this.  I go behind walls when people are grieving.  I do not know how to handle it.  All I can offer is a huge virtual hug and to tell you Josef's life was so much more full because of you and your love.

To  everybody who left me beautiful messages when my mother passed away, thank you all so very much.  I feel so much better, honestly, knowing her pain ended.  She is with her mom and sister and daughter that she lost now.

I'm still crying over your hurt and hugging Ruby for us. I just don't know what else to do and hope you can forgive me fir not being there. This sucks. :  (

CC you WERE there in every way possible! We could all feel your love and concern for Joe and JSM. I am so thankful you have each other!

JSM, I am not here when everyone else is but I come here to read almost every night. My heart breaks for you and for the loss of your Joe. Over the past 3 years I have prayed for the two of you, cried with you and very often, laughed with you. I really felt like I knew Josef because you loved him so much that he came alive through your concerns for him and your stories about him. I especially remember when he was a terrorist for Halloween; Joesama Bin Lauden, turban and all! How full his life was because of you! Until the end you were being the best mama any pet could have and each of you were blessed to be there for the other. Joe could leave this world knowing that CC will be there to care for you. Thank you for sharing him with us and for being such a good example. You will be in my prayers. Brandi said it well; the love goes on and binds us to the ones we care about through eternity. RIP Josef.
