Paulus' counselling of Joran in their communication on on June 6th was all for naught.  The Holiday Inn drop off story was about to be busted big time.  The determination of a mother's love to uncover the truth regarding her missing daughter was not anticipated.

Page 120:  One week ago this day Natalee was making plans with her friends to spend her last night in Aruba at Carlos ‘n Charlies.  She left there with Joran van der Sloot and hasn’t been seen since.

Early this morning two dark-skinned native Aruban security guards from the Allegro Hotel are arrested in connection with Natalee’s disappearance.  Surely a result of yesterday’s room-by-room search of that hotel.  Their clothes were taken.  Their cars are impounded.  Potential evidence is removed from their homes.  They are handcuffed and perp-walked to police cars and taken away. These security guards are labelled on the news as suspects in Natalee’s disappearance.

Apparently it’s not difficult to get a search warrant for these two.  But one certainly could not be obtained last week as we stood in the front yard of Joran van der Sloot’s house as he told of his sexual encounter with Natalee.  His father, Paulus, refused to let anyone inside their house, including the police.

Natalee never returned to the Holiday Inn. We had seen the tapes with a room full of police officials.  These two security guards also do not appear on the Holiday Inn security videos that we were shown.  So why these arrests?

Page 151:  A few days later Paulus is arrested and questioned by Aruban police after they say he changed his story about what time he picked up Joran on the night Natalee disappeared.  First Paulus states that he picked “them” up at McDonald’s at four in the morning on May 30.  We do not know who he means by “them.”  Later he changes his story completely, saying he picked Joran up at eleven at night on May 29 at McDonald’s.  By making this change, his story now coincides with the one Joran gave police on June 9.  But according to Aruban police officials it also makes Paulus another lying witness.

Page 157:   Aruban authorities never took statements from the Alabama men, the eyewitnesses who were present at the van der Sloot' that first morning.  And no statement was taken from the DEA agent.  Aruba simply wouldn't do it.
