Movie about local murder mystery premieres

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Twenty-eight years after her death, the founder of Texas Equusearch watched a movie on Thursday inspired on his daughter's and others unsolved murders.

"Texas Killing Fields" is a crime film inspired by the unsolved murders in Galveston County in 1983. The bodies of several young girls were found along Interstate 45 near Calder Road in League City.

One of women found was Tim Miller's daughter, Laura. On Thursday, Miller joined others at the film's premiere at the Edwards Greenway Grand Palace Stadium Theater. He says while he's not happy the film was made without any of the families' input, he is hoping the movie can bring some attention to the unsolved murders.
