Casey Anthony civil hearing today focuses on Equusearch money

The case against Casey Anthony takes center stage again Wednesday at the Orange County Courthouse.

The latest civil hearing in the case surround the thousands of dollars Texas Equusearch spent searching for Casey's daughter, Caylee, in 2008.

The group served Casey with a lawsuit during her final days in jail after her acquittal of murder, saying they want their money back, and Casey to pay for it.

Has anyone watched the video at TMZ re the Bozo/Bawa dinner date? LMAO, Bozo, after hugging others heads for Bawa, and she clearly makes a "stop" sign holding her hand up and says "no, no, no, DON'T DO IT". With the entourage around him, I hope he felt the embarrassment to his core. He'd have to be human though, and he is after all, just a snake in the grass. Publicly humiliated on camera, gotta love it. Must have been a kick to his ego after getting his ars kissed by Hoaraldo.

A hearing is set for this afternoon in the civil case filed against Casey Anthony by the mounted search-and-recovery group Texas EquuSearch.

Anthony wants the lawsuit dismissed. Texas EquuSearch wants Anthony to answer tough questions about what happened to her daughter.

The hearing is set for 2:30 p.m. in front of Circuit Judge Lisa Munyon.

TES Director Tim Miller has publicly stated that the unnecessary search effectively diverted resources to other missing children and seriously drained the group’s financial resources and now, TES is suing Anthony to recover some of the costs of the unnecessary search. TES is seeking compensation for damages from Casey Anthony in excess of $100,000.

But Anthony’s civil attorney Charles Greene filed a motion stating, “A pessimist could conclude that plaintiff has made a focused effort to use this case and the surrounding media interest to its advantage in order to obtain both publicity and money. Plaintiff, through its principal, Tim Miller, has used the media to solicit donations. Plaintiff has required volunteers working for its organization to pay for the privilege of volunteering.”

Attorneys on both sides of the fraud suit will go face-to-face Wednesday afternoon to hash out issues including a motion to dismiss the suit altogether. Texas EquuSearch attorneys are expected to aggressively fight for the survival of their suit against Anthony.
