Los Angeles Lakers basketball star Ron Artest is not doing Dancing with the Stars just to keep himself busy during the NBA lockout. He said recently that while he was initially not going to do it, his daughter Diamond talked him into it.

Diamond is now 8, and battled cancer when she was just 4-years-old.

Artest also attempted to have his name legally changed, but that will have to be put on hold until he can clear some parking tickets. His next court hearing is on Sep. 16, just days before Dancing with the Stars premieres on ABC.

Listening to HLN - Nancy was on Good Morning America this morning - talking about having to bandage up her feet - said she's used to fighting the battle in court but her feet have never been an issue.  Nancy says she's trying to keep up.  Nancy says: bottom line, I'm putting my money with the Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

I never stop in over here, BUT I so love DWTS!!!!  Have watched since day one, and I don't think I've ever missed a show.....kind of sick, I know . . . I need a life!  ha

Anyway, y'all will probably croak, but I am looking forward to Nancy Grace . . . maybe I'm naive. dumb. out of it., but I think/hope she's totally different in *real life.*
Of course, that still won't win her any votes .
I was very impressed with her interview a week or two ago with George Stepablahblah on GMA.  She could laugh at herself, and I don't think it was just a put-on.   AND, I am loving that she is donating any winnings/$$$ to the Missing Children.

Okay, enough fawning . . . I've got to do grades, but hoping this little thread will hang around.

Oh, yeah ~ by the way, I loved how Nancy said she has NO problem with Chaz . . . it was like, so what?  It was wonderful.

We've got a name change in Season 13's DWTS.  No, there hasn't been a change in dancers, just one of the dancer's had a name change.  The former "Ron Artest" now to be known as Metta World Peace is paired with Petra Mergatroyd.
