‘I am realizing this is a show, not a dance competition’

Why not change the name to “The Maksim Chmerkovskiy Show”?

“Dancing With the Stars” sure seemed that way this season.

For the first time since “DWTS” began six years ago, the most-talked-about star was not one of the rhythmically challenged celebrities.

It was passionate, hot-tempered Maks, one of the show’s professional dancers who, after weeks of sparring with judges and reportedly feuding with the rest of the cast and crew, emerged as the most polarizing personality in the ballroom.

“I am realizing — maybe later than everybody else — that this is a TV show and not a dance competition,” he told The Post the day that he and his celebrity partner — soccer goalie Hope Solo — were somewhat predictably eliminated.

Speculation began almost immediately that he may not return to the show next season.

The disgruntled dancer even hinted that he may not show up for tonight’s live finals round with talk-show host Ricki Lake, reality star Ron Kardashian and soap actor J.R. Martinez.

It will be interesting to see if Maks does come to tonight's finals round.  I hope he does and that he conducts himself as a professional and a gentleman.  If he can't do that, maybe it's better he stays home.  No one likes a poor sport and a wet blanket, and I wouldn't want his drama to get in the way of the finalists big night.  JMHO

DH, who never watches (and is trying to butter my up so I'll make giblet gravy ( ) for Thanksgiving), and *is* watching with me, asked why Ricki mostly stood around and swiveled her hips . . . interesting . . . like he knows !

I find it weird that he wasn't sitting with his partner Hope and was sitting with last years partner Kristi.  I wonder if she spoke to him and said listen you are going to the show and I'm going to sit with you.
