A mistake is NOT  a poor dancer.   I know I said that last night but this is ridiculous.

Before Nancy goes, Chaz and David must leave.   Then I will feel okay.  But in all honesty, the longer people are on the show, the more I like them and do not want anyone to go home.

Well I feel they have basically eliminated most of the competition on this one....Hopefully in the end it will be between JR & Rikki.

If not I think the general public will be through with this popularity contest, which is what it has become.

The true talent doesn't stand a chance!

Agreed..in fact I almost wish that a large panel of dance judges  decided who goes and who stays rather than the general public. I think when DWTS first started that folks actually voted for the best dancers and not popularity..

Cookie ~ I'm with you on that thought ~ wouldn't bother me a bit to just have judges deciding ~ heck, I love just seeing the dancing . . . .

'Dancing With the Stars' week 4 elimination: Chynna Phillips can't recover from weak performance
October 12, 2011

ABC
Chynna Phillips and partner Tony were pushed off the chopping block on this week's 'DWTS.'

Let the jokes about "holding on" roll in.

Singer Chynna Phillips didn't look too amused after learning that she was the fourth contestant to exit the dance floor on Tuesday night's "Dancing With the Stars" elimination.

Still, the lanky looker, who took a tumble on the leaderboard after completely blanking out during Monday night's performance, was gracious in accepting blame for her own early oust.

"I'm disappointed, I'm sad," she said, keeping close to a beaming partner Tony. "But I have to take responsibility, I messed up."

Tony, on his part, was ever the gentleman in congratulating Phillips on her progress on the dance floor.

"I feel like she's really embraced this competition," he said. "The first thing that crossed my mind [when Chynna blanked] was to make sure she was okay and I wanted to tell her that these blackouts happen all the time."

Derek Hough dislocates shoulder before 'Dancing With the Stars' performance

BY Priyanka Padode
DAILY NEWS WRITER
Wednesday, October 12th 2011, 5:42 PM

Ricki Lake and Derek Hough might be hobbling to the "Dancing with the Stars" finale.

First, she bruised her shin in Week 1 and now her pro partner is nursing a dislocated shoulder.

Hough injured himself just before his performance with his sister, "DWTS" pro-turned-"Footloose" actress Julianne Hough, on Tuesday.

"He's such a trooper," a source told People. "They put the shoulder back into place, and he's in a lot of pain, but he's going to dance anyway — including doing the lifts."

Despite the pain, Hough put on a brave face and brushed off the injury as "just a little ping."

Hough also told E! Online that he had been nagged initially by pain in his neck, "and I was overcompensating and it went into my shoulder. I'll be fine. It happens in dancing. You move on."

'Dancing With the Stars': Chaz Bono, Rob Kardashian and the Top 8 Prep for '80s Night
The remaining contestants sound off on strategies, mental states and going topless at the Season 13 halfway mark.

October 13, 2011

Never a venue for subtlety, expect Dancing With the Stars to pull out all of the bright colors and big hair at its disposal for the series' first ever '80s Night.

Setting the week's dances -- Rumbas, Sambas, Tangos, a Foxtrot and a Jive -- to iconic tunes of the decade, the contestants seemed eager after this week's tapings to step into (?)

We're probably going to get perms," says Carson Kressley, who'll be taking on the Jive with partner Anna Trebunskaya. Kressley had the lowest scores in Week 4, so he could use all the help he can get.

Lacey Schwimmer put things straight for partner Chaz Bono when she brought up their Samba. "The Samba sucks," she says. "It's so hard... [but] we have a really good song, and it's a good theme to the song. Our costumes are hilarious and '80s. I think it's going to be a good one for him."

"Song is really important," Bono adds, adding the tune meets his approval. "For me, song is crucial."

Derek Hough, Mark Ballas Were Childhood Friends Before 'DWTS'
"Dancing With the Stars" pros have been best friends since childhood.

October 13, 2011

Before they competed against one another on "Dancing With the Stars," pros Derek Hough and Mark Ballas were childhood friends. Hough and sister Julianne studied dance in London under Mark's parents and the boys quickly became best friends, dancing and performing together. Pictured here as teens, Ballas, in red, and Hough, in gray, would go on to release an album together in 2009. (Courtesy Derek Hough)
