*** Breaking News ***

According to CNN,

Massive search for missing Alabama teen stopped
(No further reason given at this point as to why.)

According to CNN, Aruba suspects trolled island hotels.

ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) — Two men charged in the disappearance of a U.S. teenager who went missing in Aruba more than a week ago were known to police for trolling area hotels to pick up women, and at least one had a previous brush with the law, a police officer said Tuesday.

The two suspects had lost their jobs as security guards at a hotel about two blocks from the Holiday Inn where 18-year-old Natalee Holloway was staying in the Dutch Caribbean island. They weren’t fired but their work contracts had expired, a police officer told The Associated Press.

The officer who spoke on condition of anonymity said several islanders told police that the two men who had been detained were seen hanging out frequently at different hotels trying to pick up female tourists in a friendly manner. No complaints had been filed against the men.

One of the suspects had a brush with the law, but it was not a violent or sexual offense, the officer said.

UPDATE: 3:00pm EDT - I have searched everywhere for confirmation on the search being called off reported by CNN and I can find nothing. AP, Reuters, Aruban news and even CNN has not confirmed this. CNN TV has not even reported such events. I am a bit suspect.

If any Aruban readers know please let us now by comment or email.

Saturday, June 04, 2005 - An official close to the investigation says the men told police they had taken the teen to a beach, then to her hotel.

I wouldn't put it past Joran to have given 2 different versions on 5/31. At minimum Joran and Paulus removed parts of one story that was told. Joran should have been arrested on 5/31.

Sorry, just browsing around and found this, which may be old news, but thought I'd post it anyway.  Day & time Natalee met with her friends and J2K was a day after the norm...just thinking of JVD's comment about Sunday nites.

Send Photo to a FriendCarlos & Charlies is a well-known party spot, catering mainly to the 'spring break' crowd and tourists on short visits from the cruise ships, which dock a few blocks further down the road. It's a loud and noisy place, but with a good mix of very varied music. Till 11 o' clock very good and large portions of mexican food are served. After 11 the restaurant part is closed and a cover charge is asked. if you are already inside, you don't have to pay. Every last saturday of the month is 'ladies first' night (VERY popular with the locals), meaning that before 11 o'clock only ladies are allowed (no cover, drinks half price or free) and only after this the men (waiting anxiously at the door) are allowed inside.  I sure hope so BT.... But IMO I feel it wont happen until TEs goes to Aruba.. its either gonna be some big news.. or a total let down.
ANd.. lets say.. IF.. a BIG if.. Natalee'e remains are found in the water.. in a container of sorts. then what? Will there be any forensic evidence as to what really happened?   Would anyone be able to tell exactly what kind of crime was commited against her? Sad   Dumb questions I have I suppose.

That's my concern, too. Even if TES finds a body in a container ... the three stooges would not have a very hard time distancing themselves from it, especially after two years. IMO.

Personally, i don't think anybody put her in a container and took her out. That would require too many accomplices. i think it happened at the VDS home and the VDS family kept it in the family. No accomplices, not even Deepak.

Will Tim be flying down to Aruba to board the boat with the heavy duty equipment or will he board the boat wherever it is leaving from to get to Aruba?

Just thinking about any finds and how they'd get back into the states from international waters or otherwise.  San, not really trying to rain on your parade...honest... pale

Two ships

240 feet
360 feet

I don't believe Tim will be flying anywhere, nor will he need to stay in Aruba.  The ships would be big enough don't you think?

Holy SHHH!!!

He is going with 2 SHIPS of that size??  Is that for real????

That has got to cost a fortune!!!  I bet they can cover ALOT of ground with a couple ships like that though.  Have they announced a date yet, or is it still "the end of June"?
