I got confused at the end of the trial when the computer analyst said that somebody was searching for chloroform in Casey's computer. Later he said that he made a mistake and only one time a person searched for chloroform in the killers computer... Did he tell that to the jurors?

No....the jurors had already reached their verdict.

Late Tuesday afternoon, the state issued a response to Bradley's comments in the New York Times.

They said during jury deliberations, Bradley sent more information regarding errors to the wrong address, "but was able to deliver information to prosecutors on the evening of July 4th. On July 5th prosecutors prepared a Notice of Supplemental Discovery for defense but it was never provided because the jury had reached their verdict."

Enabler of Death

After Cindy Anthony visited her father at the Mount Dora Nursing Home, she drove back to have some chili for dinner at her mother, Shirley’s, house, just a few blocks away.

Cindy and her mother had had to deal with some trouble over the past few months. During April, Casey—Caylee’s mother—had stolen $354 from her grandfather Alex’s account, where his Social Security checks were routinely deposited. She had used the money to pay an AT&T bill.

Shirley had found out during May, once she received her bank statement and got around to reviewing it. She’d been livid. After all, it wasn’t the first time Casey had stolen from her. Back in August 2007, at Caylee’s second birthday party, Casey had taken a blank check from her grandmother’s purse, made it out to Publix for fifty-four dollars and supposedly used it to pay for some of the party supplies (although the money might have been spent on other things). Shirley found out, but she let it go. “I was mad, but I forgave her,” she later told investigators. “She apologized, and I told her, ‘Don’t let it happen again.’ ”

But it had happened again, and this time Shirley suggested to the Bank of America that they have Casey arrested and press charges against her. Instead, the bank simply reimbursed Shirley her money and left it at that.

“That I don’t know. It’s completely and totally up to her,” defense attorney Jose Baez said on Geraldo Rivera’s Fox News Channel show last night.

Baez took to “Geraldo at Large” to answer claims by former prosecutor Jeff Ashton in a book about the Casey Anthony trial.

Baez said he did not desperately seek a plea deal during the trial, but prosecutor Linda Drane Burdick did approach him about one.

“We spoke about it. It was basically her pleading to count three,” Baez said, which was aggravated manslaughter of a child.

“We would have a conference with the judge, and he would tell us what he would sentence her to,” Baez said. ” All she had to do was consider it, and Casey looked us all in the eye, and basically said, ‘I’m innocent. I’m not pleading to anything and I won’t consider it.’ That’s why we had to stop trial to ensure she was competent to proceed.”

Anthony was later acquitted of murder in the 2008 death of her daughter, Caylee. She is serving a year’s probation somewhere in Florida for check fraud.

Baez dismissed Ashton’s claim that Baez had been sadistic in telling Cindy Anthony that the state was investigating her husband, George, in Caylee’s death and disappearance. Ashton said saying there was an investigation was “100 percent false” and “a huge lie that just cruel.”

Baez responded: “I don’t know how it could be a cruel lie when it was absolutely true. … They were clearly investigating him.”

Baez said he might write a book, if the situation was right, to share unknown facets of the trial.

I might buy Baez's statement that he did not desperately seek a plea deal. Ashton said Mason was the one who inquired.  George may have been investigated, along with Cindy and Lee, and all her friends, in the beginning, but not 2-3 years later. moo

I'd like to know that too.  Casey brought in at least $200,000, of which Baez got $89,000.  The DT did very little from that time until she declared she was indigent.  The balance of that money could keep her in hiding, comfortably until her probation is up and then some.  I bet she is forcing Baez to pay her way right now.  jmoo

The legislation is the result and combination of two previous bills aimed at creating a “Caylee’s Law.” State Senator Nicholas Sacco (D-Hudson) and Linda Greenstein (D-Middlesex) proposed the first bill, while Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean, Jr. (R-Union) and Diane Allen (R-Burlington) backed the second bill. The bill was approved 4-0 and will now face the full Senate. If passed, the law will measure it a fourth degree crime if a guardian does not report a child thirteen and under missing within twenty-four hours.

Lawmakers do not see this bill as a preventative measure. Senator Sacco argued the events in Florida would have still taken place, as “that’s a human being acting unreasonable.” The bill will call for people who commit a crime to spend a longer term in jail, which is reason enough to pass such legislation. Caylee Anthony’s murder trial caught the attention of the world, as people young and old wanted justice for the innocent angelic victim. Although Caylee did not receive the justice she deserved, her memory had led legislators to protect children in the future in several states across the nation. New Jersey will join fifteen other states in passing such a bill, showing that Caylee’s has truly left a lasting legacy, one that hopefully some day can represent hope and justice.
