Trying to attract American Famalies to Aruba right now is not a smart move..So they are going after people on the other side of the earth..The Chinese!!

With about two weeks to go until the latest confrontation with Aruba Tourism Authority, I thought I’d give an update on how things are going. And they are going very well.

From June 27 to July 1, the ATA will be present at an event in New Orleans that is open to travel agents only. Since these are the people who push Aruba (those who do), I thought it was very important that Natalee supporters show up to keep the message going: “No justice for Natalee … no tourists for Aruba.”

One person contacted me with an unbelievably generous offer: she would let participants in the protest use her timeshare in New Orleans. This has worked out.

The New Orleans protest is being led by Jamie, whose sister made those wonderful signs that were used in Miami. Jamie told me last night that things are moving ahead. {Jamie posts at BFN.}

This will be the biggest turnout ever, judging from the number of people who have said they will take part. {I hope some Monkeys are among these ... }

Anyone who wants to make a donation, ask about showing up, or just wants to make a statement of support is asked to write to VolunteersforNatalee@gmail.com. Your message will be passed on to Jamie.

We confronted the ATA at Boston.
We confronted the ATA at Miami.
Now we’re facing them at New Orleans.

And we will not back down. We can’t force them to do justice for Natalee … but we can, and will, make sure that they understand the costs of not doing so.

It’s their choice.

Trade mission to attract Chinese tourists  
ORANJESTAD – The most important objectives of an Aruban trade delegation that went to Beijing this week is the attraction of tourists and the establishment of an international commercial center with high-quality Chinese products, here in Aruba .  

Prime Minister Nelson Oduber, Minister Nilo Swaen of Economic Affairs and Finance, and Agustin Vrolijk, director of Foreign Relations Administration are part of the delegation.  Other members of the delegation are:  Myrna Jansen, director of Aruba Tourism Authority, Peter Steinmetz of Aruba Airport Authority, Alfonso Boekhoudt of Aruba Ports Authority, Greg Peterson of Free Zone Aruba, Frendsel Giel of Aruba Investment Bank, Rien Schoon of Aruba Stevedoring Company, Gideon Blaauw of Ernst & Young and businessman René Kan.  

The delegation stays in Beijing for one week.  They will talk to the Chinese aviation authorities.  The young nouveau riche of China is very fond of traveling and the market is very large.  The delegation will also talk to tour operators and travel agents.

I guess the poor folks of China are the only ones not familiar with the Aruban Authorities.

Talk about unsuspecting dupes. I'm not real wild about the Chinese Military build up and hate communism ... and think they use prisoners as organ donors... but this looks like an untapped market of unsuspecting tourists for Aruba.

Over the past several weeks I have been conducting a silent study of foot size by using careful observation and comparison, when proximity is allowed.  Thus far I have not determined a strict correlation between foot size and height.  Very tall people can have small feet and short people can have huge feet.

This has been an independent study and should not be confused with actual scientific anthropologic data.

I have also noted that large people can have very small dogs as well.

 

Here is my 6'3" son with his 10.0 Shoes and his 8 pound dog.



     

Technically it is his WIFE's Dog and It wears sundresses.  Pink ones.  He is mortified to have to walk it like that but he does.
