Police returned to the Irwin home and took two bags of baby items... though you gotta ask how does the reporter know that there were baby items in the bags.

So far no mention of fingerprints, hair, footprints, etc... left by the perpetrator.

From the video at the above link:

Wow! The bags are bigger than I thought.  Most possibly bedding, and worn clothes that weren't washed.

Missing Missouri Baby Lisa Irwin … 10 Month Old Infant Abducted from Her Crib in Kansas City, MO … Search Continues

http://scaredmonkeys.com/2011/10/05/missing-missouri-baby-lisa-irwin-10-month-old-infant-abducted-from-her-crib-in-kansas-city-mo-search-continues/

10 month old Lisa Irwin has been missing in Kansas City, MO since October 4, 2011. It is believed the infant was abducted from her crib. Initially an Amber Alert was issued on Tuesday for the missing baby; however, it has since been canceled even though the search continues for missing Lisa Irwin. She was last seen at 10:30 PM  on Monday asleep in her crib at her parents’ home.  When Lisa’s father arrived home from work at around 4 AM he went into her room to check on her and discovered she was missing. The family  immediately called police. According to investigators, they saw the window and the screen appeared that it was tampered with.

Yet another apparent child abduction. Sounding a bit like Trenton Duckett. Let's hope this case turns out better than that one where there was never a conclusion.

Good to see that parents are cooperating with police, no lawyering up. At least not yet.

Always a strange case when a child is taken from a home. Let's pray for a positive outcome.

Authorities Continue Search for Missing Baby

ason Vaughn Interactive Content Producer

7:36 a.m. CDT, October 5, 2011
KANSAS CITY, Mo.—

Authorities are continuing the search on Wednesday morning for a missing baby allegedly taken from a crib in her Northland home.

Kansas City Missouri Police have canceled the Amber Alert for 10-month-old Lisa Irwin, whose parents say disappeared from their home at 3620 North Lister around 10:30 p.m. on Monday night. The girl's father called police around 4 a.m. Tuesday when he came home from work.

Police say that it appears that a window at the home had been tampered with.

On Tuesday, police interviewed both parents, and on Tuesday night authorities searched a van and car at the home. There is no word on what police found or were looking for. Officers searching for the child focused on areas near the family's home such as railroad tracks near the north side of the Missouri River and a wooded area behind the home.

I hoped when I checked in here this morning baby Lisa would have been found safe.  I wonder if she was taken by someone that knew the family. Wherever she may be, I hope she's safe and will be returned soon.   an angelic monkey

Highway Patrol lists 16 sex offenders living within one mile of missing baby's home

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Sex Offender Registry, 16 offenders live within one mile of 37th Street and Lister Avenue where an infant was reported missing Tuesday.

Ten-month-old Lisa Irwin was last seen in her crib at approximately 10:30 p.m. Monday night at a residence in the 3600 block of North Lister in the Northland.

Police have not identified any suspects or indicated that they are looking at sex offenders in the neighborhood.

The Highway Patrol's site identifies the closest sex offender as a 56-year-old woman living within 1,000 feet of the baby's home.

The woman was convicted in 2001 of statutory rape in Nodaway County, Missouri.

The report listed three men within a mile of the home with convictions for sex crimes against children.

The men each had one conviction of statutory sodomy, promoting child pornography, or sexual misconduct with a minor.

Young also said that there have been no indications at this point that the parents' story is "hinky" or problematic. Lisa's mother was taken to police headquarters earlier today for questioning and her father was not, but Young could not say why.

"You can say they are being held, but you can also say they are being cooperative," Young said. "They're an essential part of the investigation, and we're continuing to talk to them."

Lisa's mother put her down to sleep at approximately 10:30 p.m. Monday night, according to police. When Lisa's father arrived home from work at around 4 a.m., he went into her room to check on her and discovered she was missing. The parents immediately called police.

"They saw the window and the screen appeared that it was tampered with," Officer Darin Snapp, public information officer for the Kansas City Police, told ABCNews.com. Authorities believe Lisa has been abducted and that the suspect entered and exited through the bedroom window. Police said there is no indication that anything else was taken from the house.

Watching feed.  LE will search wooded area again just because they can (with dogs).  Nothing unusual about talking to mom.  LE has talked with extended family.  Haven't developed any hard suspect info.  Parents left LE office at 10:30pm last night.  Family never in custody and were cooperative.  National Center for M & E C will talk with family soon.  30 & 40 folks following leads, another 50 searching.  Fed agency helping.  LE not ruling anything out as they have next to nothing to go on.  Parents have been cooperative.  Not really encouraging public help in search as they may need to acct for everyone if something were to be found.  No plans to shut down the operation.

I certainly hope that if this is true, someone in LE is made to answer for this decision.

A friend of mine who lives in the neighborhood called police last night to report "blood curddling screams" coming from the woods. The police told her it was too dark to investigate. Apparently other neighbors heard the same thing and called 911 as well with no response. What's the problem with this picture? They shoudl have investigated.

Day 2 of search starts for missing Northland infant

The unmarried parents have two other children in the home, both boys age 10 or younger, from previous relationships, Young said.

Though Young confirmed the search being conducted in an area near 34th Terrace and North Myrtle Avenue, he declined to say whether anything of interest had been found or exactly what led authorities there.

Reading the comment of the neighbors, the family was known to several of them.  Seems like a friendly family.  So, was this a case of an ex being jealous and wanting to punish OR a neighborhood resident wanting a child?

WOW....that gave me chills and made me sick to my stomach.  I hope since they posted on the news site it will get the attention it deserves.  I wonder if the woods this poster is referring to is in the vicinity of the family home.

These screams could have also possibly been a screech owl.  I've lived in that region before and their calls are CREEPY and sound JUST like a woman or child screaming at the top of their lungs.  UGH.  BUT..regardless, given the circumstances, it should have been checked.

We have panthers and wildcats here.  The cats sound like an animal but the panthers sound just like a woman screaming.  It will raise the hair on your arms if you don't know what it is.

Missing Missouri Baby: Amber Alert Cancelled as Search Continues
By CHRISTINA NG and KEVIN DOLAK
Oct. 5, 2011

Police have cancelled an Amber Alert for a missing 10-month-old infant believed to have been abducted from her crib in Kansas City, Mo., though the investigation and search for her continues.

Over 100 Kansas City police officers and FBI agents are searching for Lisa Irwin, the missing infant who was last seen at 10:30 p.m. on Monday asleep in her crib at her parents' home. The massive search included canines, mounted patrol, a fugitive unit, and a narcotics and vice unit. Police issued the alert for Lisa Irwin early Tuesday morning.

At 7:30 p.m. Tuesday police pulled the Amber Alert, which is meant to immediately inform the public of a missing minor who is believed to be at risk of serious injury or death.

"Although the investigation and search for Lisa Irwin continues, an active Amber Alert is no longer necessary in this case. Lisa Irwin is still considered a missing/endangered juvenile," police Sgt. Stacey Graves said in a news release.
