In  older homes  built in the late 50's early 60's the screens were put on and inserted into a track and a metal clip pushed over to lock and keep in place.. I wonder why the screen wasn't cut vs trying to put the screen in.. I think this is why the screen was bent trying to break in.. Would of been alot easier , less noise and less time consuming to just cut the screen.
Still interesting that it was a front window facing the street..

I have bent many a screen in my life trying to get into my house (when I was a kid).  They were easy to bend.  Also the old louver windows were easy to remove and get into the house that way.

I know what you mean Klaas..  My kids bend many of my screens trying to get in because they lost their key..

Just Thinking Outloud..

I wonder if neighbors notice the screen before if it looked bent before and if LE  can tell
if this was an old issue with the screen rather than a new incident with bent window..

I read on JQ (unconfirmed) that little blue bins (recycle things) were removed from the front of the house.
Trying not to over-do on pasting their link Smile

IDK fatcatlurker..

Mom might not be so truthful if this was an old issue with the screen.. Still wondering why it took a couple of days coming out regarding the cells phones being stolen..

I had those size of windows before and you can get inside and outside climbing through..
When I sold my home it was not consider a fire issue because you could get out
from the windows..

 ::snipping2::

Kansas City, Kan., at the Kansas Speedway, flyers were being given out by Irwin’s aunt, Ashley Irwin. T-shirts were also being sold for $15. The money from the shirts is supposed to go to a reward fund, which has not been officially set up yet.

Are we allowed to give our opinion on what we thought happened that night?

good point.  Because LE stated they knew about them from parents "that day" whatever that means.  They do not have Kelsey's law which could of gotten the phone info asap so I guess they should have it soon - atleast I hope.

They have dad's work cellphone right?  So they should have any info on that already imo.

Okay, I have a question that possibly has already been answered, but I cannot find it in any articles or interviews that I have reviewed.  Is the neighbor teenager that was interviewed male or female?  Was this teenager a sometimes babysitter?  thanks in advance for your assistance.

I'd be interested.

I don't have a 100% conclusion yet but there are two things I do know.

1.  Mom is crying crocodile tears. and...
2.  Dad is acting totally bizarre.

So my conclusion so far has to be if the two main people are acting this way - something is wrong here.  I know people all grieve in different ways but the mom seems to cry on cue but it can change in a flash when she is defending herself.  And the fiance might as well be hung on the wall as a stuffed trophy for all the emotion he gives for both his daughter and his fiance.  He can't even find the wherewithal to comfort the mom.
