Police searching backyard of neighbor to missing baby

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

The search for Lisa Irwin is now in its seventh day, and an entire neighborhood continues to hope for good news.

"Everybody is praying for her," said Jasmine Thach, who lives near Lisa Irwin's Northland home.

This comes as police investigating Lisa's disappearance searched a neighbor's backyard Monday.

A makeshift tribute to Lisa has sprung up at Chelsea Avenue and Lister Street near her home. Thach dropped off a stuffed bear Monday.

"It's sad," she said. "You need to go down there and give some love."

Lisa, who turns 11 months old on Tuesday, was last seen a week ago. Her mother, Deborah Bradley, says she put the baby down about 10:30 p.m. last Monday. Her father, Jeremy Irwin, reported her missing at 4 a.m. Tuesday. He said he found her crib empty when he came home for work.

I don't mean to be cynical and admit I am still catching up..but ...sin't this  just a tad stupid at this oint..why wasn't this done at the start..wouldn't you first check the family home, their backyard, the neighbors,,and any property inbetween...

Sorry ..I think that LE in this case lost it big time..too much time..too little effort in the search of the home and neighborhoos..while focusing on the parents..which it could be..but by now..whomever was involved has removed whatever evidence was left behind..just too sad and too ineffective of the LE for me..what were they thinking..the child would appear on her own..no wait one of the parents would confess...sloppy LE work in my opinion.

Clay Co. subpoenas NBC Action News footage in Irwin case

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Early Monday evening NBC Action News received a grand jury subpoena in relation to the search for 10-month-old Lisa Irwin search.

The Clay County Prosecutor's Office is asking for specific footage.

The office has requested any raw video of any interviews given by family, friends of family and neighbors regarding the missing girl.

Is it normal/common for LE to request interview videos?  And why just NBC?  Why not the other networks?

NBC had many exclusive interviews. I wonder if they want to review consistencies in the stories, maybe view people around the scene early while news crews were on scene. It is interesting.....

Another thing I wonder is how Mom was dressed when LE showed up after they called 911. Was she in PJs or street clothes. Might not mean anything but who knows....

What I find odd is two things..a grand jury requested the subpeone for the footage..is that normal in their state.it isn't in mine..normally a judgee is able to request that with enough evidence, like a search warrant so to speak, from the LE..no need to have a grand jury make that request.

Secondly..wouldn't LE have access tot hat already?  I just never heard of a grand jury requesting specific footage unless they were already convened and working on the case...not saying they are..and different states hold different reasons for GJ requests..but really..I would think someone in LE would be in charge of gathering all newscasts, interviews, articles etc...that it wouldn't take a GJ to get a copy.  The only thing I can come up with is that LE think there is more to the interview then just what was published in the news..meaning there was editorial work done and they want to hear and see the whole deal uncensored by the station.  Meaning they are looking for certain people or they just want to see who was there..and everything that was said.

KCTV5 receives grand jury subpoena in search for baby Lisa

By DeAnn Smith, Digital Content ManagerLIBERTY, MO (KCTV) -
 ::snipping2::
The Clay County Prosecutor's Office has served a grand jury subpoena on KCTV5 as part of the investigation into the disappearance of baby Lisa Irwin.

KCTV received the subpoena late Monday afternoon. Prosecutors asked KCTV5 for "all footage, including raw footage of any interviews or statements given by neighbors, family or friends of the family, regarding missing baby Lisa Irwin."
 ::snipping2::
KCTV5 was ordered to bring the footage to the "Grand Jury Room" at the Clay County Courthouse on 9 a.m. Oct. 18.

Management at KCTV5 has turned over the subpoena to our attorneys. We do not know what this development means in this case, including what a grand jury could be considering.

At least one other media outlet reported receiving on Monday a grand jury subpoena from the Clay County Prosecutor's Office.

Thank Trimmonthelake for the picture of the backyard showing the Lamp Posts.
Front door had light.. Another picture of street light from other direct across the street from the home..

I thought I saw it mentioned somewhere that the blue plastic recycling bin was missing (not sure if it was missing from the Irwin house or another house).  But you can clearly see one here in this photo.  And the birds eye view on Bing maps shows it sitting out at the end of the drive.  I'm curious if the bin was taken by a person when they took little Lisa if they used it to lay her in so no one would see them carrying a child?  This doesn't help with clues to find here really but just pondering...

It appears the blue bins in the front of the home were not missing.. See video..
Video 1.35 mark on the blue bins

KCTV5 receives grand jury subpoena in search for baby Lisa...

Posted: Oct 10, 2011 9:13 PM EDT Updated: Oct 10, 2011 9:22 PM EDT
By DeAnn Smith, Digital Content Manager -

LIBERTY, MO (KCTV) -

The Clay County Prosecutor's Office has served a grand jury subpoena on KCTV5 as part of the investigation into the disappearance of baby Lisa Irwin.

KCTV received the subpoena late Monday afternoon. Prosecutors asked KCTV5 for "all footage, including raw footage of any interviews or statements given by neighbors, family or friends of the family, regarding missing baby Lisa Irwin."

Lisa, who turns 11 months old on Tuesday, was reported missing by her parents at 4 a.m. last Tuesday. Her mother said she checked on Lisa about 10:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3. Her father said he discovered his daughter missing when he came home from an overnight job about 4 a.m. Oct. 4.

Her parents say a kidnapper snatched Lisa from her crib inside the family's home in the 3600 block of North Lister Avenue in the Northland. Kansas City police issued an Amber Alert three hours later, which was later canceled. The parents say police seem to believe they are responsible for their daughter's disappearance, which they have denied.
