Mother: I was drunk when Missouri infant disappeared
By the CNN Wire Staff
October 17, 2011 -- Updated 1419 GMT (2219 HKT)

CNN) -- The mother of Lisa Irwin, an 11-month old Missouri girl missing for nearly two weeks, said in an interview she was drunk the night the infant disappeared.

Deborah Bradley made the admission during an NBC interview, portions of which were aired Monday on "Today."

She also said she last saw Lisa at 6:40 p.m. October 3, when she put the girl to bed, not at 10:30 p.m., as initially believed.
 ::snipping2::

 ::snipping2::
Asked what she would say to someone who might be holding Lisa, Bradley told NBC, "She needs her family, and we need her. We're losing more sanity as each day progresses."

Lisa is described as being 30 inches tall with blue eyes and blond hair, according to police. She weighs between 26 and 30 pounds and was last seen wearing purple shorts and a purple shirt with white kittens on it.

The missing girl has two bottom teeth and a "beauty mark" on her right outer thigh, police said. At the time of her disappearance, she had a cold with a cough.

"I firmly do not believe that somebody took my baby to hurt her," says Bradley. "They really wanted that baby. That's the hope that keeps me going. She's still alive somewhere."

Deborah Bradley Describes the Night Baby Lisa Went Missing
By Jeff Truesdell

Monday October 17, 2011 06:30 AM EDT
 ::snipping2::

"I had several glasses of wine," Bradley told PEOPLE. More than five? "Probably." Asked if she was concerned she might be drunk with her infant daughter inside, Bradley replied, "She was sleeping. I don't have a problem with me having adult time."

An adult would behave responsibly ... and we wouldn't be seeing any of this unfold -- if her story is authentic.

Good morning Monkeys--

I didn't hear Deborah say, "I was drunk."  I heard her say, "I was drinking."  Either way it's reprehensible to be drinking at all when one is rsponsible for an infant and two other young children.  But in my mind, that reinforces the theory that someone other than Deborah took the baby.  If she were "drunk" she likely wouldn't even hear someone come in the house and take Lisa.  I still lean toward someone other than Deborah taking Lisa, but I don't know--neither does anyone else except the person or persons who did it. It is much too serious a matter to suspect someone on the basis of "A feeling," or "I don't like them."  Especially, "It feels Hinky," whatever that means. And I don't believe in psychic powers.  So until there is solid evidence, I'm reserving my judgement.  Her crying seemed real to me and I have no way to "Know" it isn't.  It very well could be.  I am open to evidence which would indicate she is guilty, but so far, I don't see it.

I think Deborah should take an independent polygraph, as should her husband.  It is not unheard of for police to tell people they failed when they did not, as an investigative technique. I could be wrong, but I don believe LE has publicly said that she failed, only that she claims they told her that.  Polygraphs are not admitted in a court of law, but I think they should take an independent polygraph and if they pass, their attorney should announce it to the world. And they certainly do need an attorney.  People in their position would be foolish indeed not to have the services of an attorney.

Abducting a child, or anyone else for that matter, is one of the worst things a person can do, IMO.  Deborah certainly could have harmed her child, but as of now, I don't see it.

Did the alcohol cause her to black out? "It's a possibility," Deborah Bradley tells PEOPLE.

either you KNOW you blacked out OR you dont not probably! in this same artical she CHANGES the time she last saw baby Shortly after 640 standing in her crib!
doesnt check again to SEE if shes actually asleep! the babys SICK she says oh well I drank I needed adult time. This tells me she was DRUNK and LYING
for A FACT
does it make her a Killer? NO but it SURE SMELLS BAD

Does Kansas City have a K-9 tracking team?   If so, it should have been brought in immediately to avoid all of this uncertainty, etc.

Sneak Peek Interview..

This weekend, the parents of missing Missouri baby Lisa Irwin sat down with Megyn Kelly and answered questions about what they think happened to their 11-month-old daughter, who was reported missing on October 4. In the interview, set to air on America Live today at 1p ET, little Lisa’s mother, Deborah Bradley, who was home with her at the time of her disappearance, admits that she drank several glasses of wine the night the baby vanished.

I don't think the 'I'm drink' confession comes as a surprise to any of us.

The question is - why is she coming out with it now?

Why now?

~ fanta

JMO~ defense strategy.......remember on Judge J Saturday nght IIRC, Zellner the post conviction atty for Riley Fox's dad stated how Riley was taken under the same circumstances and he heard nothing because he WAS DRUNK????? Plus the I wuz drunk line of BS allowed one mom to walk on probation after a dog mauled and killed her baby while she was drunk.

These oarenst have done everything they could to abstruct the truth, so back to you I always felt in my gut and that is they are both guilty, like Ron and Misty.
