We fought for a ruling that will allow Joran van der Sloot rebuild their lives"
To counsel the Dutch murderer, "things are designed" so that his client now makes use of the early termination of the process for the death of Stephany Flores
Wednesday January 11, 2012 - 12:30 am

 ::snipping2::
"We changed strategy"
The Dutch lawyer admitted that the surprising attitude of Van der Sloot at the start of trial against him, where he assumed responsibility for the crime, was due to a change in strategy at the last minute before what he called "media pressure" in this case.

"(The early conclusion of the process) was always latent especially seeing the situation as there is media around the case. This also goes for the head of Van der Sloot, "he said.

Jimenez also noted that another reason to have the Dutch to qualify for the early termination of the trial "* is to obtain a ruling that allowed some time to rebuild his life" *, because if convicted to 30 years in prison " will be difficult you might have a future. "

"I expect a sentence of 20 years"
Although the former lawyer Max Highness poker player repeatedly argued that the confession made by Van der Sloot to the National Police had no validity, Jimenez said that these statements are the sincere confession of his client. The lawyer said that the Board should take this into account when issuing his ruling.

In that sense, he considered that "the characteristics of the process," the Dutchman could be sentenced to 20 years in prison, that is, ten less to what the prosecution calls for him for the murder of Flores Ramirez, which occurred on May 30 2010.

"If we do not get a reduction that allows you to rebuild their lives, we will appeal to the Supreme Court," he said.

More threats, if Joran isn't given the sentence they think will enable him to "rebuild" his life...they will appeal.

SERIOUSLY?

What about Stephany's life?

No breaks for the monster!  He doesn't have anything to "rebuild".

 ::snipping2::

"Van der Sloot is someone who likes to live on the edge, who likes to believe that he is brighter, smarter, bigger, and better than other people," Clint van Zandt, a former FBI profiler, told truTV. "He thinks he has outfoxed the criminal justice system for five years and has gotten away with murder in Aruba, which has made him believe that he could get away with anything.

 ::snipping2::

In Aruba, Joran began to express a violent side; during his early teen years counseling was sought after he pilfered money from his father and allegedly behaved violently towards his brother, Kees van der Spek, a Dutch investigative news reporter, told truTV. While taking a violent child to see a therapist is a rational thing to do, it would later become clear that the parents, especially his father, not only exerted little control over the youth, but even seemed to condone illegal behavior. His father on one occasion gave money to a casino to let Joran gamble, and routinely let him drive, although driving and gambling are illegal activities in Aruba for those under the age of 18, van der Spek related.

Peter R. DeVries

In a revealing set of circumstances years during the investigation of Holloway's disappearance, van der Sloot was confronted on a talk show in the Netherlands about his notorious self-implication, caught on a hidden camera, in the hiding of Holloway's body.

Backstage, after the show, van der Sloot threw a glass of wine in the face of investigative reporter Peter R. DeVries, according to van der Spek, a colleague of DeVries. Witnesses said that the reaction of the parents, who were on hand, was strange, in that they immediately began consoling their son without any apology to DeVries. This then prompted van der Sloot's younger brother to begin shouting that the parents only paid attention to Joran and his needs while ignoring him, van der Spek told truTV. Anita van der Sloot declined to speak with truTV when contacted by phone.

"What I do know is that Joran was the boss of his father and mother," van der Spek told truTV. "He would tell them what to do and not the other way around."

 ::snipping2::

Outside of school, van der Sloot's extracurricular activities soon came to the attention of the police; his father may have used his connections to keep his son out of jail even before Natalee's disappearance. Police officials told van der Spek that it was rumored that that van der Sloot began frequenting Internet forums soon after arriving at Aruba in which he solicited couples visiting the island on cruise ships to have sex for money. Van der Spek also reported that van der Sloot had pushed a classmate through a plate-glass window when he was 16, about a year before Natalee's disappearance, and that, while drunk, van der Sloot had assaulted a homeless man and thrown him in the ocean

On a typical night leading up to Natalee's disappearance, van der Sloot, when not playing poker, frequented late-night bars and was suspected on several occasions of slipping date-rape drugs into unsuspecting women's drinks, although the local police have yet to explain what, if any, investigation these suspicions received. Harold Copus, a former FBI investigator who specializes in missing persons cases, told truTV that at least one young woman was willing to come forward to offer proof about these allegations and rumors before changing her mind and declining to be interviewed.

 ::snipping2::

For many, it seemed Joran in all likelihood got away with murder, and they felt that he apparently felt little or no shame for any involvement in cutting the young and promising life of Natalee short. Many of his detractors also believe that the incident seemed to have fed his already oversized ego, making him think he was invincible after outmaneuvering authorities.

"Something in him snapped," Byars told truTV. "He probably then felt like nothing could stop him."

Hang him - he doesn't deserve to rebuild anything.  He doesn't deserve life.  He had many chances.  Too late.

Justice for those he hurt and those he WOULD hurt if allowed to roam free.

Time is Joran's unwelcomed companion he can no longer ignore. IMO, it doesn't matter how much time he gets, his miserable life is ticking away on it's own personal clock and he knows it. Today's proceedings remove his ability to push that clock behind him and pull him up to have to look it in the eye. Natalee will be there today and her presence will assure that he doesn't get a sentence he can squeeze any hope from. He searched for her just before he commemorated his murderous actions toward her with yet another, and that record will take away his hope of somehow getting by, until he can walk free. This was no crime of passion........ Natalee will tell them.

Tick Tock, Joran.      Tick Tock.

Van der Sloot returns to court to face murder charge
By the CNN Wire Staff
updated 2:21 AM EST, Wed January 11, 2012

(CNN) -- Joran van der Sloot returns to a Peruvian courtroom on Wednesday, five days after requesting more time to "reflect" on what plea he will make in his murder trial.

The 24-year-old Dutch national indicated on Friday that he was willing to make a "confession" in the 2010 killing of Stephany Flores, but that he did "not agree with the aggravating factors" as defined in the murder charge levied against him.

Given this statement, the panel of three judges decided to give van der Sloot until Wednesday to make a final decision. There is no jury.

It is time to get this show on the road!  This scum deserves to rot in hell---30 years to life, no more, no less. THEN he needs to be turned over to the great state of Alabama so JUSTICE FOR NATALEE will finally be paid.

I hope he rots in hell.   ::boxingjoran:: ::boxingjoran::  ::justice2NJ:: ::justice2NJ::

Joran Van der Sloot Back in Court in Peru to Face Murder Charges in Death of Stephany Flores … Plea or More Game Playing by Van der Sloot?

http://scaredmonkeys.com/2012/01/11/joran-van-der-sloot-back-in-court-in-peru-to-face-murder-charges-in-death-of-stephany-flores-plea-or-more-game-playing-by-van-der-sloot/

Quote
Sorry, but “SINCERE” and Joran Van der Sloot cannot be used in the same sentence, let alone a legal sentence.

Today, Joran Van der Sloot will head back to court in Peru, just five days after the Dutch national requested more time to decide on a plea deal in the murder of 21 year old Stephany Flores in a Lima, Peru hotel. Last week Joran Van der Sloot continued to play games in this murder trial, no different that the one’s that he has played ever since the disappearance and death of Natalee Holloway in Aruba in 2005. It had been reported that last week Van der Sloot would make a plea and confess to the murder of Flores. Instead, Joran acted with complete contempt for the court.

The correspondent from Peru is saying that no extradition to the Netherlands is currently in effect but that eventually it will be. However, in order for extradition to take place, Peru would have to AGREE to release him to them. I'm not worried about that happening!

They are talking about a 20 year investigator that heard Joran's confession. He said that Joran is a seasoned killer and a classic psychopath. The investigator says Stephany's murder (the violence of it and the way he left her suffering and gurgling while he showered and then took a shirt and smothered her) was a crime that one builds up to through multiple murders. The investigator believes there are other victims besides Natalee.
