Is that a cross on the Judges table?

It is.  So isn't a "sincere confession" one that begins "I have sinned through MY OWN FAULT" and not try to blame everybody else in the whole world?  Mea culpa!  That is all.

Also noted he is not wearing the hot bullet proof vest.  Shirt not tucked in when leaving the courtroom either.  It's not as though he is not used to the heat from Aruba.

LIMA (Reuters) - Joran is a psychopath who can not return to society. That is lawyer Edward Alvarez of the Flores family. He said in a press conference immediately following the session in which Van der Sloot declared guilty of the charges.

According to Alvarez, it was clear that Van der Sloot Stephany Flores killed in order to rob her of her money. , And that's what life, "he said emphatically. When asked whether he would appeal if Van der Sloot sentences given, he would not respond. But he argued that a sentence of 20 years is enough. The 20 year option as mentioned in the verdict that the three judges eventually sheets.

In an emotional speech, Van der Sloot's lawyer tried after his confession to prove that he was the day of the murder was dominated by a deep psychological trauma. Apparently the judges to move to a lighter punishment. But he did not get much space as this type of argument in the court today passed a station. Van der Sloot is guilty of the charges.

Well, regardless of his sentence, the only place Joran will go is straight to Alabama to face a federal charge of extortion which if I remember correctly carries a sentence of 25 years.  If he EVER gets out, he is going to be a very old man should he survive prison conditions which I doubt.

After the hearing, Van der Sloot spoke briefly with his lawyer. She smiled and looked unconcerned, as television footage showed.

The prosecution had asked for 30 years in prison for murdering Van der Sloot with cruelty in May 2010 at the University Stephany Flores 21.

 ::snipping2::

Upon acceptance of the prosecution's charges, Van der Sloot will be sentenced for murder, punishable with 15 to 35 years in prison.

......
Hours 4:47 p.m.
The defense urges to take the post-traumatic disorder that Joran has accumulated. According to his lawyer feels Joran himself persecuted by the world.
.....

I dont know how it works in Peru, but if his lawyer wants to bring up the Natalee case, the judges should be able to use all the evidence available about the multiple lies he admitted to telling in that case.  They should be able to use that to weigh against the sincerity of his "sincere confession"

I believe you're right Anna.  I have a feeling the judges will not want to be perceived as being like Aruba!

Judged by 3 women.
Priceless.

I hope he gets the maximum time in that hell hole and survives to come to America and die in an Alabama prison.  Then I will be satisfied.
What a POS.

Justice for Natalee.
Justice for Stephany.

Carry on and come across
