I do read still ,athough I have pulled away from this case. Too much anger still over the jurors and their lack of appreciation for what their task was as citizens.
Last week while Christmas shopping, I was stopped dead in my tracks when I looked over at the book section. there was her face on the book, written by not Jeff Ashton, but by a cash in doctor who never met her. It's like some of this stuff is never going to leave my brain. It changed my " calm internal chi " that day into " internal crap " for an hour or two.
I still go to Jeff's page and come here, and if I hear of her trying to cash in with paid interviews, I make sure I do an email or contact them.   
She can't be retried, the verdict was garbage, all we can do it to try to prevent her from becoming a celebrity by piggbacking on her daughter's death.  ::justice2NJ::

Greene has asked for the private hearing with the judge to further make his argument. Outside court today, he said the other side's question about who Caylee's biological father is, is "designed for harassment" and no other productive purpose in the case.

Greene also denied that he or another civil attorney working on the Anthony case were shopping around her story for a large pay out.

"She's not trying to sell her story," Greene said. "She's not out there trying to sell anything."

Greene's statements came several days after reports that Los Angeles-based Scott Sternberg Productions has been pitching an interview with Anthony for $500,000 to $750,000.

Meanwhile, TES attorney Marc Wites said the "unfortunate reality of this case" is that Anthony will profit from her story with a book, a movie, photos or video. He said the purpose of the TES suit is to get at the truth and recover money for TES.

TES volunteers spent several days in 2008 searching for Anthony's missing 2-year-old daughter Caylee Marie Anthony. Anthony claimed the girl was kidnapped by a nanny named Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez. The nanny was determined to be fictitious.

During Anthony's criminal trial earlier this year, her criminal defense attorney Jose Baez said Caylee died in a drowning in the family pool. He made those and other bombshell revelations during his opening statement, but much of that statement was not supported by evidence or testimony brought out at trial.

"He made those statements in a criminal trial and we'd like confirmation from Casey Anthony that they're true," said Wites. He likened the situation to the O. J. Simpson case. Simpson did not testify at his criminal trial, but he was made to testify in the related, civil case.

"We expect the same thing to happen here," said Wites, whose firm is handling the case free of charge for TES.

If the Baez statements are true, it would confirm Anthony lied to TES's Tim Miller and many others; Wites agreed, "I think it goes a long way to proving our case and the Gonzalez case as well."

Charles Greene, Anthony’s attorney, said his client could incriminate herself if she’s forced to answer questions. She is appealing her convictions for lying to law enforcement. WKMG-Channel 6’s Mike DeForest explained that Anthony’s criminal defense team has argued that her lies were illegally obtained by police.

DeForest asked Greene: “What is the difference between Jose Baez saying Casey Anthony lied  and Anthony saying it herself?”

Greene responded: “Jose Baez’s statements can’t be used against Miss Anthony in a criminal prosecution.”

“Or an appeal, as the defense claims,” DeForest added.

What happens next? DeForest explained that the judge could take attorneys for both sides into a closed-door hearing and decide, question by question, whether Anthony must answer.

Wites predicted Anthony will one day profit from the case through a book or movie deal. He also drew a parallel to the saga of O.J. Simpson, who didn’t testify at his criminal trial but was forced to do so later at a civil trial. 

Will Tim Miller, founder of EquuSearch, be deposed tomorrow? WESH’s Ober reported that EquuSearch’s attorney said Miller won’t. But Anthony’s attorney said Miller will be and could be held in contempt if he doesn’t show up.

“More drama in the ongoing Casey Anthony saga,” Ober said.

EquuSearch is suing Anthony to get back money spent searching for her daughter, Caylee Anthony. Miller says Anthony knew where the child was the entire time.

The judge in case is withholding her ruling.

The head of Texas EquuSearch, the organization that launched massive searches for Caylee Marie Anthony, was a no-show Tuesday morning at a deposition in his civil case against the slain toddler's mother Casey Anthony.

Tim Miller's non-appearance was not a surprise, as his attorney, Marc Wites, told new reporters Monday that Miller had no intentions of being questioned under oath by Anthony's attorney.

Instead, Wites said, the parameters of Miller's deposition will be made at a hearing in January.

"The court will decide when Mr. Miller will be deposed, the scope of that deposition and how long it will last," Wites said.


But on Tuesday, Anthony's civil attorney, Charles Greene, said he was prepared for Miller to be questioned under oath.

"Since he's under subpoena [for Tuesday], I had no choice but to have a court reporter there and go forward, because his counsel wouldn't give me a new date," Greene said. "I wasn't trying to force Mr. Miller to appear today. I would have changed the date."

"We offered to change the date, let them get a hearing in advance, and to make all sorts of concessions, and they choose not to agree to anything," Greene said.

Greene said he will take the matter up with a judge at a Jan. 9 hearing.

"I believe the law in the state of Florida is you can't ignore a subpoena," he said.

Tim Miller, the head of Texas EquuSearch, did not show up for a deposition Tuesday in relation to his lawsuit against Casey Anthony.

Miller's lawyer said both sides had agreed to put off the deposition. He has filed an order of protection to delay Miller's deposition, but the judge hasn't ruled on it yet.

Miller was subpoenaed after arriving in Orlando to help with the search for missing mother Michelle Parker.

Anthony's attorney Charles Greene said he offered to give Miller's attorney a new date for the deposition, but he never got back to him.

Now Greene said he may seek an order holding him in contempt.

Greene said he will file paperwork telling the judge everything, including how he tried to get Miller's attorney to reschedule.

Greene said Miller's attorney is trying to make this case have a "circus like" feel.

The lawyer for EquuSearch said it would be unfair if his client is forced to give his deposition first.

Sentinel seeks Casey Anthony doctor depositions

The Orlando Sentinel has filed a motion to unseal two key depositions from the Casey Anthony criminal case that have never surfaced publicly.

The motion to intervene filed in Orange Circuit Court seeks to unseal the depositions of two mental health experts — Dr. Jeffrey Danziger and Dr. William Weitz. Casey Anthony's defense team in March wanted to use both as witnesses at Anthony's murder trial to rebut "rulings related to the defendant's state of mind and consciousness of guilt."

Ashton wrote that both the prosecution and defense agreed not to have the depositions made public "because the allegations were so sensational."

Judge Belvin Perry agreed and sealed the documents.

But now Sentinel attorney Rachel Fugate argues in the motion that Ashton "authored a book in which he discussed the substance of the sealed depositions, which came from his memory and his notes."

"At this point in the proceedings, there is no basis to continue the sealing of these depositions," Fugate argues. "Any sealing order must be narrowly tailored to accomplish its purpose. A sealing order is no longer necessary to protect Ms. Anthony's fair trial rights."

A hearing date has not yet been set.

5 Casey Anthony acquittal makes Florida look like a backwater on national TV . . . again. Much as I understand and respect the jury verdict, the murder acquittal of a mom who waited more than a month to report the disappearance of her 2-year-old, after weeks of televised testimony, made the Sunshine State look almost as bad as that time we screwed up the presidential election. Toss in how the mad scramble for sources led ABC News to help finance Anthony's defense (by paying her for photos and video footage long before the trial started) and pushed other media outlets to pay sources, and you have another Florida-centered calamity which somehow managed to hobble an entire American institution -- the news media.
