Thank you Trimm. Monkeys sometimes are better than family. The day I lost Josef, I met my family at a Mexican Restaraunt. My sister was the first to arrive and all she could talk about were her new shoes.  My BFF and her husband (ex BIL of said sister) that went with me were so pizzed off they just walked away. All I could tell my sister was ORDER me a MARGARITA!!!!

So sad that great friends online can be there for you more than family. That is why I love you monkeys!!!! 

I would have been tempted to say order me to drinks, one for me and one for the one I'm going to throw on you if you don't quit talking about your da** shoes.

Took a nap this afternoon as I wasn't feeling so swell and woke with the sniffles and clogged nose.  Aargh! I can't be sick, don't have time.  But no choir practice for me tonight!

  Sister, I pray you feel better and it is just a one time sickness. Sorry no choir practice 

No choir practice ever for JSM, she can't sing at all. I just mouth the words when I am at Church. 

Not to be Bible-thumping, but the scriptures do say . . . "make a joyful noise unto the Lord" see you are just doing what the Bible says 

  That's not Bible thumping at all Sister, my old Priest used to say the same thing that we should all sing during Mass even if we have a horrible voice. I think he was talking about me

Belated birthday wishes to all. 

Congrats on the passage of your first year JSM and CC!  Hope next year you'll make a journey back to Cocoa Beach to celebrate your 2nd year.

Yay!  JSM is go89ing to have a dancing/skating partner!   

  Hi Can!!! You have been missed. Hope you are not getting any snow up there yet.

  Someday I will have an ice dancing partner, although my coach will want us to do pairs (she was a pairs skater and hates ice dance)  Can't wait to get back to Cocoa Beach, ready to play some golf!!!

Off to my Mom's this morning.  Going to help her wrap pressies and address some cards for her.  Taking lunch and plan to work fast so that we can get out for a bit.  She needs a break from her hubs.  i don't know how she does it at her age and it is wearing her down.  She told me last week that she thinks she will pass before her husband, He is 97- Really bothers me as I fear it is the beginning of defeat.  She has become so frail.

Have any of you had the experience of looking for Assisted Living places for one of your parents?  Things are really not going well with my Mom and it is going to be a fight, much less a financial burden, but I would like to start investigating a little.  Any tips on what to ask - what to look for?

Like I said, without any explanations, it is going to be a struggle, but are there even different levels of Assisted Living? 

Give me strength monks...better yet give my sibs some strength because things are going south in this matter real fast.

My brother spent his time in a VA home,but I know there will be some smart monkey that can give you some good advice.Monkey hugs.

Caddy, prayers for what you are going through. We dealt with it with my Grandmother, but that was ages ago. She had the finances to luckily live in a nice assisted living community. My friend's grandmother was in a nursing home, that was awful. So maybe look up through the state and see if they have a list of good and bad homes. My friend had to call Adult Protective Services on the nursing home several times, so I would hate for you to go through what she went through.

Hopefully smarter monkeys than me can give you some good advice. Prayers again for you and your family. Glad your Dad is doing better.
