Peace be with all monkeys in need. JSM's sister found her a color wheel for her tree.  Wish I could be there to help her set it up.  Odds are saying that I'll be with her permanately in mid January.

OMG
I got a call from a pastor at a local church asking if they could use one of my donks in the living nativity.  Picture the havoc that Hobbs could create ( sort of like a bull in a china shop ). I explained that none of mine would stand quietly for a couple of hours but I gave him the name of a lady that raises miniature donks that might be more suitable. Hobbs would mug the shepherds, steal the headwear off the 3 wise men and eat the hay in the manger and heaven help us when he starts braying with the choir.

Hubs carved/whittled the statue, he has done some really cute carvings over the years.  I try to encourage to keep him busy but he gets frustrated and out goes the project if it has any flaws.....dang it!

Thank you 4 Donks, that is so funny!!!!!!!!!! You really made my day. But that was sweet that you had someone more suitable for them to use. I love living Nativity's, really brings out the meaning of Christmas.

I am thinking about "borrowing" my friend's blue heeler for a few days just to get use to a  dog in my life. Axel is fat and lazy but would kill anyone that would get between me and him.

"Borrowing" Axel sounds like a really good idea JSM.

Good thing I didn't, because a guy that stalked my friend in the past called her tonight and she swears she saw him sitting down the street from her. She and her step daughter were all alone. Husband will be back later, she said Axel has been pacing all day and not leaving her side.  Glad he was there.

Axel?    Does he have a pal named "Slash?"     One of my kiddos is a Guns N' Roses fan and when I saw you post "Axel"...      I think it's nice you'll have a doggie in your life for a bit.  And it's a plus if he would kill anyone that would get between the two of you.  Good dog!

  May get him sometime this week just for some company, he is a great dog and I love him to bits. My friend said anytime I want him, he is ready and willing to visit. Could be a good thing so when they go out of town I can keep him and the others can get boarded.

I got rid of my big tree and put up my small one,one box of ornaments and some old lights.
It's probably illegal somewhere to own all the ornaments I have stuck in my closets.Just gonna rotate them from now own.Keep it simple.Hubby was like.   

I'm illegal with you.  In my younger years I put up 4 trees -- one angel, one snowman, one mice (Christ-mice tree), and one Charlie Brown tree (everything else).  I have loads of ornaments.  Then I would keep one up year round and decorate it for St. Patricks's Day, Easter (eggs and flowers), spring (sprigs of spring flowers), patriot (flags and ribbons).
Oh the joys of endless energy.

Think I am going to sort through some of my stuff this weekend.
I have certain things set aside for sidekick and his big sister that were around in the time of their Dad.
Granddaughter says she wants a photo album/scrapbook of family photos with her dad so I have to get out photos while I am at it.Look out closet here I come.

  Me too!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want a color wheel for my aluminum tree, only the dang thing is falling apart and doesn't stand up well on carpet. Wish I could find someway to fix it. TRIMM!!!!!!!!!! you are MacGyver... can I send it to you and you can rig it up?????

Dear Monkey Friends,

Have any of you had the experience of looking for Assisted Living places for one of your parents?  Things are really not going well with my Mom and it is going to be a fight, much less a financial burden, but I would like to start investigating a little.  Any tips on what to ask - what to look for?

Like I said, without any explanations, it is going to be a struggle, but are there even different levels of Assisted Living? 

Give me strength monks...better yet give my sibs some strength because things are going south in this matter real fast.

PS My Dad is doing very well - he might stay alone tomorrow night - first in five weeks!!

We did that last year at this time - but we had to do the memory care type facility. It is not easy. Go and check out the places you are thinking of and you will find the one that feels "right" to you. We are using Brookdale - they are nation wide and do both memory care and assisted living. They are wonderful. Prayers that you find a place that both of you love.

  Sorry you had to go through that last year TBM. Thank you for giving Caddy good advice.

In the end, it was the best thing we could have done. She is happy and well cared for. She can socialize and still have her own space since we got her a private room.

Thank God for such places TBM -- I'm sure it has been a tremendous relief to have her happy and well cared for.

    Love Digger at the Tree Brandi!!! That is just like my tree!! Never thought to put it on a stand so it will stand taller. Gonna do some MacGyering on it tomorrow and maybe get a piece of plywood so that it will stand flat on the carpet.

My Sister and I went to an antique store and actually found a color wheel, she squealed when she saw it. Bought it for me for my Christmas present. If I can't MacGyver the stand, then I will go buy the stand the aluminum tree was in (the kind that twirls and plays music). I really need to get back into the Christmas spirit.

  Yes she did find me a color wheel, not the kind my grandma had, but one older than that. You will be here with me at Christmas through the phone and email. If were bad like Cindy Anthony I could fly up to Chicago on my broom, but alas I have no broom to fly on. So the monkeys and internet and phone will get us through this. Then we can drive to Texas later in January.
