Good morning Monkeys!

My brother is having eye surgery today to remove a cancerous growth.  He lives in a rural area and is making his way to the hospital this morning.  A two hour drive.   Snow squalls are predicted in his area so Im keepng my fingers crossed they arrive at the hospital in time.  A neighbor friend is driving.  Hubs encouraged him to go yesterday and take a hotel but no go.

On the 21st my brother will have surgery for bladder cancer that has returned and at the same time they will do a scraping of the prostate.  Tomorrow, he has to visit the surgeon that will be doing his surgery on the 21st.  Once again the good neighbor will be transporting him and SIL.   I do worry about him.  He is such a good and decent man.

Prayers for all. What a blessing to have a nice person that is willing to transport them to and from the hospital.

Thank you boyzmom.  Indeed it is.  My bro has done same for them, many times.  It's the same man, a retired firefighter, who my SIL called upon when Gary was having his stroke and refusing to go to hospital.  Neighbor knew what he was seeing, and got my brother to the hospital.

Well, the cold front finally hit here -- aargh!  Not as bad as some of the rest of you as I still have my bedroom window open just a wee bit.  But I can't complain, we've had it pretty easy so far -- I agree with JSM, I hope it isn't as bad as last winter.
Going out of town this afternoon to visit a sweet older lady who moved from the community.  Really miss her smiling face every Sunday morning.  Her husband passed a couple years ago and she is living near her relatives, so it makes sense.  Just miss her lovely countenance in church.
Hope everyone stays warm and has a blessed day.

  Thanks for asking Sister, I think she had surgery today and she is going to start radiation. They did a CT and found a spot on her lungs. So very sad, not sure what kind of surgery, I am think orthopedic.

Oh Dear Can, how horrible for your brother. Thank goodness for the good neighbor. I hope they made it to the hospital this morning. Prayers for your brother through his surgeries.

Been praying for your Mom that the Lord would renew her strength.  Caregiving is often very draining, not just physically but emotionally too.  Continued prayers.

Oh, thank you so much Sister.  I'm so afraid for her. 
I spent Tuesday with her and I took her out for lunch and to run some errarnds.
When we were finished, we said our goodbyes in her lobby.  It was dusk and I wanted to get on the highway.  I'm a terrible night highway driver. When she got in, he wasn't in the apartment.  She went looking for him and found him in the community centre building, which
can be accessed from her building through a hallway.  He was with a staff member, who was trying to find out who he was and where he came from.  Staff person told Mom he asked him his address and he didnt know it.  This is a new development which will result in making my Mom's world smaller yet.

I so appreciate your kindness and your prayers Sister.

Thank God for the neighbor that realized he was having a stroke and thank God he drives them to the hospital.
