Gypsy....snow already! Geez! I hate winter..luckily I will be in Florida a lot this winter, Texas for a wedding in November and then a cruise the end of January so the winter will hopefully go fast.  Not fast enough though.

Correction...wedding is in December..the weekend before Christmas of all times!

JSM It's too bad you didn't have your golf shoes with you, because it probably would have done you a world of good to hit a few balls.  I think it's only natural and to be expected for you to feel down when you go by Pet Lodge because it evokes so many memories of your time with Josef.  It doesn't mean it feels good, but it means you are working through your grief and that's important.  I don't think of you as having a pity party, because to me when you explained how you're feeling, it's real and it's pain and you acknowledge that.  You were honest with the girl when she asked you how you're doing and you answered not very good but you are holding up.  It's part of healing.  You aren't denying the pain in your heart for you loved Josef so much.  You're learning to live without Josef, yet you are holding him dear in memory.  Grief comes in waves I've found.  Sort of like the tide.  It comes in and goes back out.  You're doing good JSM.  Give yourself time. 

I'll bet you're gonna love your new iphone.   

Muffy, thank you for understanding. I am trying to work through my grief, but I have never been through grief that hurts this bad. Like you said comes in waves. Thank you for saying I am doing good, I thought I was but when I left today the memories of 10 years of him in the playroom flooded back to me and I couldn't take him home. He is home with me, so I kissed him as soon as I walked in the door. Gonna put my old golf shoes in the car and next time I will be able to go hit the crap outta the golf balls. Or if I was in Florida I would do this...   

  Thank you again Muffy for understanding, thought it was gonna be easier, but it hit me today that it isn't.

People have been enjoying candy corn for more than 100 years.  In the 1880s, candy corn was invented by George Renninger, an employee of the Wunderlee Candy Company.  The recipe hasn't changed very much since then, although now there are more machines to do the work of creating those festive white, orange and yellow sugary triangles. 

To celebrate National Candy Corn Day, here are five fun facts:

1.  More than 35 million pounds of candy corn, or roughly 9 billion kernels, will be produced this year, according to the National Confectioners Association.

2.  When candy corn was first introduced to the public, it was especially popular among farmers because of its agrarian appearance.

3.  Curious about how candy corn is made?  A behind-the-scenes video can be found here.

4.  "Candy corn" is the top searched-for candy term on Google.

MUFFY.... I took your advice and I went and hit balls after Mass today. Bucket and a half and didn't even whiff one ball. I think it helped because I am worn out now.

MUFFY.... I took your advice and I went and hit balls after Mass today. Bucket and a half and didn't even whiff one ball. I think it helped because I am worn out now.

I think it's as  much the mental aspect  of hitting balls on the range as much as it is the physical side. (But the exercise is good too!) As you know, if you aren't concentrating on what you're doing, you will "whiff" the ball for sure. You didn't whiff one!!  You were able to take your mind off things and shift it on over to the ball for a while.  Excellent.!

Glad it is better today, OMG 28??? That is cold. I hope Gypsy did well and didn't get much snow. Was reading some people were without power.

Thanks Branid, glad I drove the golf balls too. I need some kind of exercise that will wear me out and I can't skate on Sunday, so driving range will be it for awhile. I may start going to the gym at the apartments just to run on the treadmill. Maybe exercise will help me sleep through the night.

  Muffy, you are right, I was concentrating on "be the ball" not on any other distractions so could be why I didn't whiff. Thank you for giving me the advice to go and hit the balls. I took my sadness out on the poor balls and even hit a 200 yard drive that hit the sign. (that will never happen again)  I guess come this freezing winter the only thing I can to take my aggression out is        or learn to dance (my friend wants me to take Salsa lessons)    I have two left feet 

Oh my gosh..............Caddy Shack, I have that on VHS but don't have a VCR anymore. So wish I had it on DVD I would watch it right now.
