Going out on a limb here . . . I don't usually pray out loud for people who don't request, but this has been burning in my heart for a couple of days.

Dear Lord, we praise your knowledge of who we are and what we are.  You know us better than we know ourselves.  There are needs among the monkeys which have not been spoken but remain deeply embedded within their hearts.  You know these needs and concerns.  There are some going through the pains of grief, there are those who feel befuddled by life's situations, there are those who feel helpless as they watch loved ones suffer, there are those who are making life changes and it doesn't seem to be going well.  You know all about these matters and hurts and pains.  Help us to place all of it in your hands and to wait with confidence for the answers that always come.  Help us to not grow impatient with your timing.  Help us to realize we are never out of your sight nor your love.  We know in our hearts you never forsake us, but sometimes dear Lord, our minds have questions.  Help us to maintain the course you have set us on.  And when these particular trials and tribulations are conquered with your grace, we will continue to give you praise and honor.  We pray in the name of the Lord of Lords.  Amen and Amen.

Out of the horrors of the second world war came an expression of worship – a poem written by a nineteen-year old flyer who met his death serving the Royal Canadian Air Force.  Pilot-Officer John Gillespie Magee, Jr., called his poem “High Flight” . . .

“Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings.
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds -- and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of -- wheeled and soared and swung
High on the sunlit silence.  Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
“Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue,
I’ve topped the windswept heights with easy grace

Rant time:
9/6 - interviewed with county for job I really wanted. Interviews by boss lady and two other ladies. Interview went great.
9/21 - interviewed with county for a different job with the same three ladies. Interview went great.

Sent customary thank you letters in a timely manner for both interviews.

10/6 - received rejection letter for the 9/21 job I interviewed, only 2 weeks and 1 day after the interview.
10/18 - had 2nd interview for the same job I interviewed on 9/6, this time with only the boss lady. Interview went great and I inquired when a decision might be made. Was told a couple weeks. Again I followed up with the customary thank you letter.

10/20 - announcement made by the county that some services would me merged with the city - services that relate to the job I applied for, and that boss lady would be in charge of overseeing this merger.

11/3 - followed up with an email to boss lady expressing my interest again in working for her and the understanding of the merger. Never got a reply.
11/7 - followed up with a voice message to boss lady expressing again what I did in email. To this day have not got a response.

Talk about frustration. No return email, no phone call,  no rejection letter. Nothing.

Planning on calling boss lady one final time on 11/22. Don't want to appear as a pest. If I don't hear anything by early first of the new year will move to Texas if my wife still wants me after what I've put her through.

Please be patient... I was in charge of a merger of 2 depts within the same organization and it took months to complete. You have to evaluate all the job descriptions wihtin the 2 groups and make changes or consolidate. I imagine if the merger is between 2 organizations (city & county) it will be even more challenging for this lady.Hang in there.

CC- remember that things come in their own time - but morons get to be the boss most of the time!  I will keep you in my prayers that what ever happens will be what is right for you and JSM. Know that we are here to listen to you rant anytime!

CC, I don't claim to be a mind reader, but I just knew in my spirit what was going on with you.  I know it is easy for me to say, something better will come along, but I believe with all my heart, there is a great future before you and JSM.  I won't analyze why these things are happening, I just hold strong to my feelings of happiness and much love for you and JSM.
If all else fails at this moment, have a "Pitiful Paul Party" (it's Pearl if you're a female) and wail and cuss and accuse anyone and everyone of not understanding you, etc for 15 minutes.  Set a timer.  When the timer goes off, done with the pity, etc., blow your nose, and move it buster!  So use your pity time well.

P.S.  Sometimes it takes more than one "Pitiful Pearl Party" for me . . . but the time limits must be honored.

It is cold out this AM. Mac once again has decided he can hold it till spring. After a conversation he saw the light and went out but wasn't happy. Sister, I think you and I both have been having quite a bit of Pitiful Pearl Parties lately. Praying you are doing better. I had one last night when I got home, only thing I could do was pray once the tears were gone.
