Good afternoon Monkeys!

So many missing monkeys from this thread and others.

Magic - who worked so tirelessly during the Anthony trial.  If you read here, I hope you and your husband, kids and grandkids are well.

Babybear...I'm always looking for your posts.  Hope you're keeping well.

Good morning Monkeys--Can, what a nice thing to say.  Thank you.  I've just been busy although I do usually read here and am signed in most of the time although I'm not on line.  Just busy with life--like all of us at this time of year.  Went on a cruise a couple of weeks ago and had a great time--Norwegian--with a great choice of restaurants. Drove to Port Canaveral since I was with my niece who won't fly.  Long drive from TN.  Went to Nassau, Charlotte Amalie and San Juan.  Went to a rain forest.  Visited my sister in Lexington and am leaving for a casino in Cherokee NC tomorrow for a couple of days.  Sorry to read about others' misfortune and think of all of you often.  Prayers for those who need them, hugs for those who need them too.
My sister-in-law in a nursing home had to have a new pacemaker last week and is doing well.  Out-patient surgery.  Since I am her legal conservator I had to sign for the surgery and it is a responsibility to make medical decisions for someone else, but she has no contact with her daughter and I am her only living relative--and even with that not a blood relative. I try to visit her often and there are several others who have no relatives that I look in on.  I pray that I never have Alzheimers and if I do, someone will just shoot me. Its a cruel disease which robs you of your mind.
Is everyone almost through with shopping?  I did a lot of mine on the internet--most companies have had free shipping recently and I don't have to pay sales tax which is 9 1/2 % here, so that's a big savings, not to mention avoiding the crowds.  I do have to go to WalMart occasionally because Charlie's insulin costs around $50 at Walgreens but $23 at Walmart, so it's worth the aggravation at WalMart.  I hate the parking lot--people flying by the wrong way.
Anyway, hope everyone's well and ready to have a wonderful Christmas.

Sounds like you have been busy and having fun.  What a nice couple of trips, visiting people is always good.

I know what you mean about the responsibility of medical decisions, they can weigh you down after a while.  Dementia in any form is a tough disease.

Great idea to shop online.  It is always amazing to me how some companies charge so much for something, other companies can do better with.  They parking lots are awful everywhere, even when they are not related to shopping.

Thanks for your good wishes.  Merry Christmas to you, too!

Good to see you, BabyBear!

Sounds like some great vacation/trips have come your way!

Glad your SIL is doing okay.

My neighbor Ray, who I met in college many moons ago, who remains a very good friend is showing severe memory problems. It's sad to watch. I do the best I can for him, taking him shopping, having him here for dinners, talking to him every day. We celebrated his birthday here last Friday. But I agree, it's awful when the mind goes.

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas. I finished my shopping and wrapping! (No more Christmas Eve wrapping marathons for me!)

Good for you, Brandi.  It is wonderful that you give your neighbor so much attention, also.

Your monkey is cute, do we have any religious Christmas emoticons like we do for Hanukkah?

OMG  next installment of the runaway goats.

They ended up in the donk's pasture and the donks were guarding them and wouldn't let the men in the pasture. They came and got me but it was too late the goats ran into the woods. As it now stands I have either 3 or 6 goats roaming the property and the owner was unable to catch them. At one point they tried to lasso one and I thought I would die laughing...sooo funny. The goats are raised to sell for meat and are totally unsocialized so won't come near people and these guys are just idiots.

What a sight this must have been.  Good for the donks!

Good to see you Babybear!
Sounds like you are living life to the fullest.  That is great!
I've almost finished my shopping. Purchased numerous items of clothing for my Mom. I will take them all to her tomorrow to have her try them on, hoping some will fit.  For some reason she is difficult to fit. small or xsmall petite and often these just hang on her.

Being a legal conservator is a big responsibility but i'm sure you're up to the task.  It can be emotionally draining though.  Your SIL is fortunate to have you looking after her concerns rather than a stranger appointed.

Bless you for looking in on alzheimer's patients who have no one. It is indeed a cruel disease, for the victim and their loved ones.

I have yet to make a single purchase on-line.  It does sound tempting though, for the ease and the bargains.

Enjoy your trip tomorrow!  Cha ching!

Your Mom must be a very tiny woman.  It must be tough looking for clothes for her.

Morning monkeys, will catch up later at lunch. Really busy.

Wanted to wish Trimm good luck at the hearing.  an angelic monkey

Now back to the real world.
What a morning.Lawyers met with the judge, then they came out to the property and took pictures and kept us all separated.  No trial this week,it is set for March.
At some point you have to laugh at some of the things you hear.I am more right about these people than even I imagined.
Gotta catch up on my reading now.don't work to hard.

I have been thinking about you and praying for you.  I am so sorry you are going through this, my friend.

I have been praying all morning that the day went well. If they are as bat azz crazy as you thought yikes. We have new neighbors moving in and my first thought was please don't let them be like Trimms. Monkey Devil!

You are in my prayers as well.

Trimm's are certainly one of a kind, GE. I cannot imagine what makes a human being so mean.

Hi y'all ... hope everyone is well.  Been missin ya, miss kissin ya        lol

You're all looking good.  Cookie, really love your new avatar.

I was wondering if there's an easy way someone can tell me how to make a youtube video (or want to volunteer to make one for me ? I'll email you the pictures & pay you in monkey hugs, haha)

A friend of mine passed away recently & I have a lot of pictures of her from childhood on up, would love to put a slideshow type thingy of them on there, with music.  Can't figure out how to start.  Can anyone shove me (sweetly) in the right direction with instructions for youtube for dummies?

Thanks,
BG

Hi BG - I haven't tried this one but it appears to be free and looks easy.  You can create slideshows with your photos, add music and upload to Youtube.

http://www.slideroll.com/

Edited to change my mind.  Windows Live has a Movie Maker that is free and works pretty well.  Free.

http://explore.live.com/windows-live-movie-maker

Thanks Klaas ... The second one requires Windows 7, I still have Windows Vista, too computer stoopid to know how to upgrade tho I remember when I bought this computer a couple yrs ago, it said free upgrade to Windows 7.  I'm hopeless.

Fooled around with the first link, may be able to do that... if I can figure out how to upload it to youtube once I get it done, lol.

You are neither one of those things, BG.  Be kinder to yourself.

hi all..hoping that everyone is doing good tonight.
Chuckie Cheese was a huge ordeal! very crowded..kids running around unsupervised. We had purchased the necessary tokens for our grands to play the games and to ride on the rides. Children were asking us for tokens..of which we said,,,no, go ask your parents..They were hopping on the rides that our grand kids were on, practically shoving our kids off. Then, hubs was playing a game with one grand daughter, a kid about 3 came up to the game, shoved my hubs hands away so he could take over..hubs said , no..we are playing this game and this little punk hit my husband! I kid you not..he was so angry that he hit my husband and ran off. It would have done no good to tell the parents cause they don't care.  This is the youth coming up and it is scary! these kids are thugs and really, their parents are no better. They were rude and pushy and no regard for others at all! Then 2 boys probably about 5 was arm wrestling another little boy who was playing a game of which his parents paid for and the 2 were trying to wrestle the game away from this little boy about 4 yrs old. they ganged up on him..luckily his mother saw them and went right over to them and told them to knock it off..
last trip to Chuckie Cheese for this family! One of the mothers came up to one of her children and said really mean,  get your a@@ over here..the kid was about 4 and he immediately covered his head and cowered..what does that tell ya? the mom was sooooo mean sounding..It is really really sad to see these kids behave this way. I told my husband, they are a product of their environment. If they were raised by a loving family, they could be different kids. one of the mothers left with 8 small children!! 8!! I told my husband, I bet those kids do not get properly put into car seats as they are supposed to..I was soooo angry when I left there...Rude rude people!!! If 4 and 5 yr old kids are acting this way in Chuckie Cheese, think what they will be like roaming the streets when they are teenagers! very sad...sorry for the rant but I still have not gotten over this behavior... shocking I guess...

I am so sorry you had this experience.  It is hard to raise children who are respectful when this is their environment.  Your Grands are lucky to have you.

I remember going to CC.  My son would share his tokens with everyone.  It is a tough place.

For those that don't know the donks' history...They were severely abused by men and don't trust men and can be very aggressive if I'm not there. They have learned that I won't let anything bad happen if I'm with them. These idiots climbed the fence and didn't get permission to be on the property or I would have stopped them going near the donks. They had a rope with them and Cappy was used for roping practice and is terrified of ropes. The vet and farrier never use a halter and lead with him, I just stand there and he pushes his forehead against me and I rub his ears and they can do anything to him. These guys are very lucky nothing happened to them. I told them if they came on the property again without permission I would let the dogs out. They also had a gun and I took it from them because they aren't going to shoot goats on my property(or dogs or donks). As it stands now I won't allow them on the property. When they left the property I returned their gun and told them if this ever happened again I would have them trespassed and further more they were Not capable of roping a da*ned fence post so forget it. I imagine I will get a call from LE about goat stealing...Oh well

Oh ye woman of great courage and tenderness!
I hope the donks bite their butts if they come on your property again.
We will bail you out, not to worry!
