AG: Jerry Sandusky victims were 8-17
March 1, 2012

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Prosecutors claim Jerry Sandusky sexually abused boys ranging in age from 8 to 17, eight of whom were molested on the Penn State campus, according to a document with new details about the case filed Thursday.

The Pennsylvania attorney general's office said in the document that crimes involving one of the 10 alleged victims took place in Florida and Texas, while another boy was abused at his own school.

Prosecutors were more specific in the document about the ages of the boys than in earlier reports, but much of the information is similar to details revealed in grand jury presentments issued last year that formed the basis for charges against the former Penn State assistant football coach.

Prosecutors: Jerry Sandusky assaulted 8 boys on Penn State campus
Alleged victims ranged in age from 8 to 17, new court papers show.

By Mark Scolforo, Of The Associated Press
March 1, 2012

HARRISBURG — The alleged victims of Jerry Sandusky ranged in age from 8 to 17 and eight of the boys were assaulted on campus, a new court filing by prosecutors in the Penn State sex abuse case says.

The attorney general's office issued a "bill of particulars" that said crimes involving one boy took place in Florida and Texas, while another boy was abused at his own school.

Two of the boys, identified in a grand jury report as Victim 2 and Victim 8, remain unidentified to authorities, according to the court filing.

In most cases, prosecutors said they could not provide specific dates, noting some crimes occurred over many years, and the alleged victims were children at the time.

Sandusky's alleged victims say abuse occurred on Penn State
By Mark Shade
March 1, 2012

HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania (Reuters) - Eight of the ten men who complain they were sexually abused by former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky say the abuse occurred on the college campus, and one of them was just 8 years old at the time, according to court documents released on Thursday.

Six of the accusers also said abuse occurred at the home of Sandusky, 68, who faces 52 counts of abuse stemming from accusations he molested the 10 boys between 1994 and 2008.
 ::snipping2::
In documents released by prosecutors, eight victims said they were sexually abused by Sandusky on the Penn State campus in State College, Pennsylvania. They say the abuse occurred in the campus football building, in dormitories, in locker rooms, in showers and in an outdoor pool, the documents said.

They also reported being abused in Sandusky's car and at a local hotel as well as in Texas and Florida, the documents said.

Prosecutors said five boys were abused in the Lasch Building, the football headquarters on the University Park campus in State College, according to the documents.

Other assaults occurred in locker rooms in another campus building, a campus pool and dorm rooms, prosecutors said.

Court documents state that six boys said they were abused at Sandusky's home near State College. Other abuses occurred in Sandusky's car and at hotels and other locations around Centre County; and in Clinton County, where Sandusky was a volunteer high school football coach, prosecutors said.

Wow.  Sounds like the feds are serious.  I'll bet everyone involved is sweating bullets now.  Well, everyone except JS as he thinks those boys were his own private harem.  Sick freak.  I can just see those with real power at Penn State giving up anything they know to keep the NCAA out of it.  As we've clearly seen, athletics are highly valued at Penn State.  They won't give up the sports for any man.

If they haven't already, they're probably shredding, cleaning out files and etc.

Didn't think of that.  And they've had plenty of notice to do just that.  Why oh why don't these agencies stop announcing their intentions prior to actually doing searches/seizures?  I just pray there've been some wiretaps or something.

Computers have probably been replaced over time too, but I believe (and hope) enough evidence can be found if there was in fact misconduct.

Jerry Sandusky's defense team can have some, not all, records sought, prosecutors say
March 5, 2012

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Pennsylvania state prosecutors say they're turning over some of the records and material sought by Jerry Sandusky's defense team, but that others don't have to be released.

The attorney general's office on Monday filed a 15-page response that says it shouldn't have to give the former Penn State assistant football coach records that consist of grand jury matters, pertain to ongoing investigations or amount to private personal information.
The two sides are trying to work out pretrial issues as the judge has scheduled the start of jury selection for May 14.

State attorney general files response to Sandusky defense team
By Paula Reed Ward, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
March 5, 2012

The state attorney general's office today filed its response to an order for pre-trial discovery last week in the case against former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.

In a laundry list that runs nine pages long, Senior Deputy Attorney General Jonelle Eshbach explains all of the many materials provided to or withheld from the defense and gives the reasons why.

In many instances, information was withheld because it related to grand jury secrecy. In others, the prosecutor said the information being sought related to an ongoing investigation and therefore was protected.

Ms. Eshbach wrote that she believed the additional information being sought by defense attorney Joseph Amendola was not discoverable. If Senior Judge John Cleland, who is presiding over the case has any question, the prosecutor asks that the judge review the evidence privately.

Pa. AG responds to Sandusky document request
March 5, 2012

Jerry Sandusky is getting some of the prosecution records he wants to help prepare his criminal defense on child sex abuse charges, but the attorney general's office argued in a court filing Monday that he shouldn't be provided with other material.

The 15-page response by state prosecutors said the former Penn State assistant football coach has no right through the court discovery process to records that consist of grand jury matters, pertain to ongoing investigations or amount to private personal information.
They also said Sandusky should not get psychological evaluations regarding purported victims or juvenile arrest records for someone who isn't a "charged victim."

"The prosecution is not required to turn over every piece of evidence which might possibly assist the preparation of the defense," wrote senior deputy attorney general Jonelle H. Eshbach. The document was dated last Wednesday but docketed by Centre County court officials on Monday.

Sandusky's lawyer, Joe Amendola, said Monday that he was reviewing the prosecution's latest filling and expected to soon add to his request for more information before the trial.
 ::snipping2::
Eshbach said Sandusky's lawyers have already been given a report of a 1998 investigation of Sandusky by university police, a probe begun after a woman complained that he had showered with her son. No charges were filed as a result. Eshbach said that report was turned over but without psychological reports, juvenile arrest records, phone numbers and addresses.

She said that if the judge handling the case disagreed with the decision by prosecutors to withhold some records, he should first review them in private before ruling on their disclosure. Amendola said the judge would likely conduct a hearing on pretrial issues next week.

The prosecution filing also said that polygraphs haven't been administered in the Sandusky case and that more than 52,000 emails were obtained. The attorney general's office refused to disclose a witness list, saying everyone named in the documents could be called to the stand.

Grand jury material and related investigative records can only be disclosed by getting permission from the judge who supervises the secret panel, Eshbach wrote.

Prosecutors agreed to provide Sandusky with his own employment records and said his lawyers can make arrangements through the state police to view several photographs at issue.

Prosecutors were answering, point-by-point, a motion he filed about a month ago, asking a judge to order them to turn over pretrial discovery materials.

Jerry Sandusky case judge schedules court hearing over details
March 6, 2012

Lawyers in the Jerry Sandusky case were ordered today to appear in court early next week to address how much information state prosecutors should be compelled to disclose before the start of trial on child sex-abuse charges.

Judge John Cleland scheduled oral argument on the defense request for additional details to be held Monday morning in the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte.

Sandusky lawyer Joe Amendola said last week he wants the attorney general’s office to provide more details about the allegations to help him prepare possible defenses based on an alibi, the statute of limitations, double jeopardy or other grounds.

Sandusky case judge schedules Monday court hearing
March 6, 2012

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — Lawyers in the Jerry Sandusky case were ordered Tuesday to appear in court early next week to address how much information state prosecutors should be compelled to disclose before the start of trial on child sex-abuse charges.
 ::snipping2::
Cleland wants jury selection to begin May 14, although the two sides continue to hash out pretrial issues.
Next week’s hearing centers around the “bill of particulars” sought by Amendola that would provide more details about the times, dates and locations where crimes allegedly occurred, the names of people who were present or nearby, and “special events” such as football games on the days of the purported crimes.

Sandusky, attorney to see grand jury transcripts 10 days before trial
By Debra Erdley, PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE-REVIEW
March 7, 2012

Attorneys for Jerry Sandusky will not receive transcripts from the grand jury that investigated allegations of child sexual abuse against the retired assistant Penn State football coach until 10 days before trial, a judge supervising the ongoing grand jury ruled yesterday.

Although Pennsylvania rules hold that grand jury testimony may be withheld until a witness testifies in open court, senior Judge Barry Feudale, who is supervising grand jury proceedings, said he would make them available to Sandusky`s attorney 10 days before trial.

Typical corporate response, form an oversight committee. Another job title for each members resume'. "Chairman of the BS committee". More BS from a board that cannot ever be taken seriously until they resign. This entire scandal happened on their watch and they claim to have had no knowledge. That is unacceptable.
