So, NBC hides material of an interview with JS and now they've managed to get police tapes of MS's interview.  Anyone else think that someone in LE is pro Jer?  This stinks!

There were two monsters in the Sandusky house

Tuesday, June 26, 2012
This headline speaks volumes!

Quote
Evil can come in many forms. It can come in the likes of Stalin or Hitler, or it can come in the gentle grey softness of a grandmother like Dottie Sandusky.

The fact that eight young men chose to come forward and recount the horrific abuse they suffered at the hands of Jerry Sandusky should be enough to silence Dottie Sandusky forever. The fact that her own adopted son, Matt, has made similar abuse allegations against his father should leave little doubt in anyone’s mind — even hers.

Dorothy Sandusky owes the world an apology. She should apologize for being so aloof, so unaware of the goings-on in her own house. She should apologize for not immediately filing for divorce when the prosecution presented such an overwhelming case.

Indeed, her very existence helped Jerry Sandusky to be the villain that he is and added to the number of victims. After all, most reasonable parents would be leery of sending their child off to a single man’s home. But knowing that the man is married and that his wife will be present helps to ease any concerns a parent might feel.

That monsters like Jerry Sandusky exist is a sad reality. Sadder still is the women who protect these men.

So true!! And that creepy Spanier and his cohorts will, I hope be next in line in court...aiding and abetting a pervert, their silence peaks volumes.

Penn State's Liability in Sandusky Case Could Tighten the Budget Belt
By Nate Mink
June 27, 2012

 ::snipping2::
The university faced suspicions a child predator was showering with young boys in its facilities at least three times, and yet, it continued. In fact, Sandusky was seen working out in the Lasch Football Building the week before his arrest in early November.

Now he’s sitting in a jail cell at Centre County Correctional Facility awaiting his life sentence. If only that was the end of it . . .

Penn State is now on trial. Civil suits are coming, and really, it comes down to this, according to one law expert: If there was knowledge a crime was committed, it’s almost a slam dunk there’s civil liability as well. At the heart of all this are questions many Penn Staters long for. Who knew what and when?
 ::snipping2::
It looks like, at the least, any claim after the 2001 Lasch Building shower incident is in play. A legal source said the fact that criminal charges were filed against Tim Curley and Gary Schultz and probable cause was shown at their preliminary hearing last December makes for a strong civil case.

Penn State’s first known knowledge — at least publicly — of Sandusky’s behavior is in 1998, when a boy said he was abused in a shower. Penn State Police conducted an investigation, but no charges were filed at the time.

“There are a couple victims because of the timetable who might not be found civilly liable,” Wes Oliver, an associate professor at Widener University School of Law, said on a recent taping of Pennsylvania Cable Network’s “Journalists Roundtable.”

“But it’s in Penn State’s PR interest to go ahead and settle this across the board and make this case go away.”
 ::snipping2::
Penn State has said legal and other expenses not covered by insurance are expected to be funded from interest revenues related to loans made by the university to its self-supporting units.

But the university and its insurance carrier are currently tangled up in court battling over how much coverage it should receive.
 ::snipping2::
Penn State was issued a fresh batch of subpoenas in the spring, including president Rodney Erickson, who has yet to testify in front of the grand jury, according to a Penn State spokesman.

More charges could be forthcoming. The attorney general's office reportedly recovered emails that show former president Graham Spanier was involved in the decision to not alert authorities of the 2001 allegation that led to perjury charges for Curley and Schultz and brought down Hall of Fame football coach Joe Paterno.

Then there’s the matter of Louis Freeh and his team that has interviewed hundreds since launching an independent investigation last fall looking into the missteps that occurred and what changes should be made in wake of the Sandusky child sex abuse scandal.

The report is expected to come out later this summer. It will be released to the public, university’s Board of Trustees and officials at the same time.

He says people should be told why it took years to produce charges against the former Penn State assistant football coach, and he wants the U.S. attorney's office will look into it.

A spokesman for Attorney General Linda Kelly says there was a need to conduct a thorough investigation, and the 45-count guilty verdict was the result.

Jailed Sandusky likely to keep his $59K annual pension from state
June 27, 2012

Former Penn State University football defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky is going to prison for sexually abusing 10 boys, but he likely will keep his state pension.

None of the 45 crimes that led a Centre County jury last week to convict Sandusky is on the list that requires forfeiture of the former coach's $58,898 annual pension.

And that makes state Sen. Larry Farnese furious.
 ::snipping2::
n October, a month before authorities charged Sandusky, 68, of College Township, Farnese introduced legislation that would allow seizing the state pensions of those convicted of sex offenses.

"If we had taken it up at that point, quite possibly Sandusky would not be receiving a pension of $60,000 a year," Farnese said.

Sandusky withdrew a $148,271 lump sum from his account before he began pulling down his annual stipend in 1999.

A 1978 state law outlines crimes that require pension forfeiture as those "committed by a public official or public employee through his public office or position or when his public employment places him in a position to commit the crime."

The offenses include theft, extortion, forgery, tampering with records, bribery, threats and other improper influence in official and political matters, perjury, official oppression and speculating or wagering on official action or information.
Former Penn State Vice President of Finance Gary Schultz, who is awaiting trial on charges that he lied to a grand jury investigating Sandusky, could be subject to the law if convicted.

Schultz collects a state pension of about $331,000 a year, according to pension fund records. He maintains his innocence.
Tim Curley, a second Penn state executive charged in the alleged cover-up, is not a member of the state pension system.

Officials with the State Employees Retirement System declined to comment on Sandusky's pension status or the provisions of the law, saying the issue won't even be reviewed until he is sentenced.
 ::snipping2::
State Sen. Wayne Fontana, D-Brookline, co-sponsored the Farnese bill. He said he introduced legislation six years ago that would have heightened child abuse reporting requirements for school employees - only to see it die in committee.

"(Farnese's bill) was not a knee-jerk reaction. It was introduced before Penn State," Fontana said. "We could move it so fast if (leadership) would just put it on the agenda."

Now, I want to tell you about a chilling new development in the Jerry Sandusky child molestation case. For the very first time we are hearing Matt Sandusky, the adopted son of Jerry Sandusky, describe alleged sexual abuse at the hands of his adopted father, Jerry. He says Sandusky abused him from the age of 8 to 15.

NBC obtained the 29-minute recording. It was taped by detectives June 15th, a week before Jerry Sandusky was convicted of 45 counts of child sex abuse.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MATT SANDUSKY, ADOPTED SON OF JERRY SANDUSKY: With like the showering, with the hugging, the rubbing, with the talking to me, the way he spoke. If you were pretending you were asleep and if you were touched in some way, you could just act like you were rolling over in your sleep, so you can change positions. I know that I really wanted to die at that point in time.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

VELEZ-MITCHELL: I really wanted to die -- that from Matt Sandusky. Matt first went public with his abuse claim just last week. The state planned to use him as a surprise rebuttal witness if Jerry Sandusky took the stand. But of course Jerry Sandusky did not take the stand.

Presentencing investigation underway for Jerry Sandusky
June 28, 2012

BELLEFONTE, Pa. — Centre County Office of Probation workers soon will begin putting together Jerry Sandusky’s presentence investigation, a report that will aid the judge in sentencing the former Penn State defensive coach.

Thomas Young, the office’s director, said the report will include information on the range of prison time that each count carries, charging documents such as the grand jury’s presentment, any restitution owed, any psychological or psychiatric reports, Sandusky’s version of events if he chooses to offer one, and statements from the victims if they choose to offer them.

The office has 90 days to compile the presentence investigation report.

Sandusky’s sentencing hearing hasn’t been scheduled yet, but according to the rules of criminal court procedure, it should come within 90 days of a conviction.
 ::snipping2::
The presentence investigation file will be confidential but available to Sandusky through his attorneys.

It’s too soon to say if the prosecution will have the victims speak at the sentencing hearing, said Nils Frederiksen, a spokesman for the Attorney General’s Office.

But one civil attorney said he expects the young men who testified against Sandusky in graphic detail two weeks ago to be back for when Sandusky receives his fate.

New lawsuit against Second Mile claims Sandusky abuse started in 1970s
June 26, 2012

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. —

The first civil lawsuit since Jerry Sandusky's guilty verdict has been filed.

The suit includes three of the victims included in the child sex scandal, as well as a new alleged victim who claims Sandusky was abusing children as far back as the 1970s.

Making this suit more notable is the fact that it is not aimed at Sandusky or Penn State. Instead, the target is the organization founded by Sandusky, the Second Mile Foundation.

The Second Mile wants to distribute its assets to a group called Arrow Ministries, but this new court filing is hoping to block that move. The suit is filed on behalf of Victims 3, 5, and 7 as identified in the Sandusky grand jury indictment.

Also included is another defendant listed as John Doe A, who claims Sandusky molested him well over a hundred times.

Jerry Sandusky fallout: Judges step aside in civil cases due to Second Mile, Penn State ties
June 28, 2012

BELLEFONTE — Centre County judges’ affiliations with Penn State and The Second Mile will keep them off the bench when it comes to presiding over civil cases filed in the fallout of the Jerry Sandusky scandal.

In all, there are three cases for which county officials need an out-of-county judge and possibly a fourth, if former Penn State assistant coach Mike McQueary goes through with a whistleblower lawsuit against the university.

The number of cases could grow. Sandusky was convicted of 45 counts of molesting boys he met through The Second Mile, and attorneys representing the victims are expected to file civil lawsuits.

On Wednesday, county Judge Jonathan Grine recused himself from presiding over one of three — The Second Mile’s request to transfer its assets and programs for children to a Texas organization and shut down for good. Grine cited a “conflict of interest,” said Maxine Ishler, the county’s court administrator.

Next week, the state court system is expected to assign an out-of-county judge to that case as well as the one in which former Penn State President Graham Spanier sued Penn State to get access to his old emails. In the suit, Spanier said he’s been denied access to the emails and needs to read them before he meets with the university’s third-party investigative team.

Last night on my radio show, Offside, I interviewed Karl Rominger, Jerry Sandusky's criminal defence attorney. To say the least, Rominger was very candid. Frankly, shockingly so. He offered a lot of insight into Sandusky's state of mind, how the case unfolded and what is next.

Sandusky in Prison: Judge Cleland Signs Official Sentencing Documents, Date To Be Determined
By Laura Nichols
June 28, 2012

Jerry Sandusky will be sentenced for his crimes against boys in about 90 days, pending "any evaluation deemed necessary," as ordered by Judge John Cleland Thursday.
 ::snipping2::
In a one-page document signed Thursday, Cleland scheduled Sandusky's hearing in Courtroom 1, where he was found guilty by a jury of his peers, for a time still to be determined. The flexible time frame is to allow any psychological evaluations or any other evaluations deemed necessary and arranged by the Centre County Probation and Parole Department.

Centre County Judge Removes Himself from Civil Case Consideration
By Nate Mink
June 29, 2012

A Centre County judge has recused himself from presiding over one of the civil cases in wake of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse trial.

Jonathan Grine removed himself from consideration for The Second Mile’s request to transfer all assets to the Houston-based charity Arrow Child & Family Ministries, a court administrative aide confirmed Thursday.

The Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts will select an out-of-county judge to preside over the case at a later date.

At least three cases will need an out-of-county judge, according to a report in the Centre Daily Times. H. William White, of Venango County, has been assigned to the case involving Penn State and its insurance company over how much coverage it must provide in civil suits against the university.

Another out-of-county judge is needed for the lawsuit former president Graham Spanier filed against Penn State regarding access to his old emails, which he says he needs before he meets with Louis Freeh’s investigative team.
