Sandusky Probe Review Sought by Pennsylvania Democrats
October 17, 2012

Pennsylvania Democratic leaders sought a U.S. Justice Department review of the state’s handling of child sex-abuse accusations against Jerry Sandusky, a former Pennsylvania State University football coach.
Representatives Frank Dermody of Oakmont, the Democratic leader in the House, and Mike Hanna of Lock Haven, a party floor leader known as the whip, asked for the appointment of a special counsel to examine how the Sandusky investigation was conducted and whether he violated any federal laws, in a letter dated yesterday and addressed to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.
 ::snipping2::
“This case is crying out for an independent eye,” Dermody and Hanna said in the letter. “As long as there is a cloud of suspicion hanging over this tragedy, the people of Pennsylvania will never be able to bring this dark chapter of our history to a close.”
Kevin Harley, a spokesman for Corbett, called the move “politics at its most cynical.”
“This is another attempt by House Democrats to take political advantage of the victims of Jerry Sandusky,” Harley said yesterday.

Lawyer: Man claiming to be Sandusky's "Victim 2" a fraud
October 18, 2012

A man who says he is the unidentified victim in the now-infamous 2001 shower assault by Jerry Sandusky is a "charlatan" seeking "to profit from the suffering of real victims," a lawyer for one former Pennsylvania State University administrator said.
Tom Farrell, who represents former university vice president Gary Schultz, questioned the man's claims in a statement released Wednesday.

Citing discovery material obtained in his client's defense against perjury and other charges, Farrell charted several instances in which the alleged victim changed his story with investigators, prompting doubt among prosecutors about his credibility.

Despite Farrell's complaints against the man, the lawyer said Wednesday, he was barred by court order from publicly naming him.

"All of the attorneys - defense lawyers and prosecutors - are aware of the individual's identity and have evaluated his credibility or lack thereof," Farrell's statement read. "All parties to the Sandusky trial declined to call him as a witness."

Farrell's view of the man's problematic involvement with the Sandusky investigation largely follows similar concerns raised by those close to investigation in interviews with The Inquirer days after he first came forward in July. If true, the man's claim would solve one of the key mysteries remaining in the case.

"Mr. Farrell's comments are nothing more than a regurgitation of Jerry Sandusky's failed defense strategy attacking his victims, many of whom initially denied being abused," said Matt Casey and Joel Feller, part of the team of attorneys representing the man. "The identity of the boy in the shower is not now, nor has it ever been, in doubt."

Sandusky Scandal Hits Penn State Credit Rating as S&P Cuts Outlook
October 16, 2012

As if the Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal hasn’t caused enough headaches and long-term damage for Penn State at this point, the university now has reason to keep an eye on its credit rating, a key determinant of borrowing costs. Standard & Poor’s says it’s revised its outlook for Penn State’s double-A bond rating to negative from stable.

Jerry Sandusky scandal: Man says he was groped in 2005
October 17, 2012

A 22-year-old man filed a lawsuit claiming that Jerry Sandusky fondled him at a summer camp on the Penn State University campus in 2005.

The plaintiff, called “John Doe” in court papers, said he was 14 when he attended a camp run by The Second Mile, Sandusky’s charity for troubled youths. He said the former Penn State assistant football coach approached him in a campus swimming pool, grabbed his genitals and said, “What have we here?”
 ::snipping2::
The lawsuit was filed Monday in federal court in Scranton. The defendants are Sandusky; The Second Mile; Penn State; former university officials Graham Spanier, Tim Curley and Gary Schultz; Penn State’s law firm, McQuaide Blasko; the school’s former general counsel, Wendell Courtney; and Edgewater Psychiatric Center, the agency that referred the plaintiff to Sandusky’s charity.

The lawsuit said Penn State and the other defendants knew Sandusky was a predator but did nothing to stop him.
 ::snipping2::
The accuser decided to come forward after Sandusky’s arrest.

Gary Schultz attorneys say investigators don't believe the man who says he is Sandusky's Victim 2
October 17, 2012

The man who says he is Jerry Sandusky's Victim 2 was deemed not credible by investigators in the case, according to the lawyer for accused former Penn State official Gary Schultz.

Attorney Tom Farrell said that in a statement today, released in response to a Patriot-News analysis Monday that questioned whether prosecutors believe the man who claims to be the unidentified Victim 2. Farrell is representing Schultz in the perjury and failure to report case that is set to go to trial in January.

Attorney for Gary Schultz attacks credibility of man claiming to be Jerry Sandusky's Victim 2
October 18, 2012

ťThe man who says he is Jerry Sandusky’s Victim 2 was deemed not credible by investigators in the case, the lawyer for accused former Penn State Vice President Gary Schultz says.

A statement by attorney Tom Farrell directly attacks the credibility of the man who came forward in July and claimed through his attorneys that he was Victim 2, the boy whom Mike McQueary reported seeing molested by Sandusky in a shower on campus in 2001.

Farrell is representing Schultz in the perjury and failure-to-report case that is to go to trial in January. Schultz and co-defendant Tim Curley, Penn State’s athletic director who is on leave, say they are innocent. McQueary testified that he told Schultz and Curley what he saw but they did not tell authorities.

Farrell’s statement was released Wednesday in response to a Patriot-News analysis on Monday that questioned whether prosecutors believe the man who claims to be the unidentified Victim 2.

October 12, 2012

Jerry Sandusky's lawyers are appealing his conviction, according to court documents filed Thursday in Centre County court in Pennsylvania.

'The fun and games turned to horror': Sandusky's 'Victim 1' reveals his identity and tells of ordeal at hands of pedophile coach
10/18/'12

The teenager identified as Victim 1 in the Jerry Sandusky case has revealed his identity for the first time and told how he was forced to hide in bathrooms from the sexual predator and was even chased down by his car.

Aaron Fisher, 18, said: 'Victim means, people feel sympathy for you, I don’t want that. I would rather be somebody who did something good, like a hero or something.'

Fisher said Sandusky turned from father figure to predator. At first, the Penn State coach showered the boy with compliments and invited him to football games
He spoke to Chris Cuomo ofABC's '20/20,'  which airs on Friday night and will be timed with the release of his new book Silent No More: Victim 1′s Fight for Justice Against Jerry Sandusky.

Fisher was 11 when met Sandusky at his now infamous Second Mile summer camp, where the former Penn State football coach singled him out and invited him to spend weekends at his home.

Sandusky Victim 1 Steps Out of Shadows, Says Justice Took Too Long
October 19, 2012

He was known only as Victim 1 in one of the most infamous child sexual abuse cases in history. But this week, Aaron Fisher revealed his identity to the world and, in an exclusive interview with "20/20's" Chris Cuomo, told the story of those he said stood in his way as he struggled to bring now-convicted child predator Jerry Sandusky to justice: officials at his own high school.

"Here I am, beside my mom, crying, telling them and they don't believe me," he said in an interview with Cuomo airing on "20/20" tonight at 10 p.m. ET. "I knew they wouldn't."

Fisher has detailed his struggle to have his allegations against Sandusky, formerly a revered Penn State University football coach, taken seriously in a new book,"Silent No More: Victim 1's Fight for Justice Against Jerry Sandusky," published today.

Jerry Sandusky's wife was in home during assault, victim says in new book
October 20, 2012

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- A young man whose sexual-abuse claims triggered the investigation of former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky says in a new book that Sandusky's wife once called down to the basement while he was being attacked and Sandusky told her that he was busy.

Aaron Fisher writes in "Silent No More" that Dottie Sandusky asked her husband to fix a table upstairs. He says Jerry Sandusky told her he was fixing an air hockey table and she dropped the subject.

The Associated Press bought an early copy of the book, being published next week.

Dottie Sandusky maintains that she never saw her husband behave inappropriately with children.

I'm wondering if perhaps Dottie never went down to the basement when Jerry had kids staying there?

Sandusky accuser tells of abuse ordeal in new book

HARRISBURG, Pa. — A young man whose sexual-abuse claims triggered the investigation of former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky says in his new book that Sandusky's wife once called down to the basement while he was being attacked and Sandusky dismissed her by saying he was busy.

Aaron Fisher writes in "Silent No More" that Dottie Sandusky asked her husband to fix a table upstairs but that when he replied that he was fixing an air hockey table, she dropped the subject.

"Sarge," Fisher wrote, using her nickname, "never went down to the basement."

The basement, according to court testimony, is where Sandusky abused Fisher and other boys who stayed overnight at his home.
 ::snipping2::
Jerry Sandusky didn't testify at trial but has said repeatedly he is innocent, and Dottie Sandusky has maintained she never saw him behave inappropriately with children.

Not only that, Jerry Sandusky's lawyer Joe Amendola said Friday, "she said they had a freezer in the basement so she would routinely go down there go get stuff to make for dinner. She said had she thought Jerry was doing anything inappropriate, she said he wouldn't have needed the judicial system."

Iowa students dress as Jerry Sandusky for Penn State game (Picture)
October 20, 2012

Five Iowa students dressed as pedophile and former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky for Saturday’s Hawkeyes-Nittany Lions game in an act that can be described as nothing short of disgusting.

Penn State student site Onward State shared the photo and says the five students were making their way to Kinnick Stadium prior to the game when the photo was snapped. The five fans are in black-and-white striped jail suits and have nameplates on the back that say “J. Sandusky.”
 ::snipping2::
At least someone in Iowa has a brain. The students reportedly were escorted by campus police to meeting with the Dean of Students.

Screw on your heads straight people and realize that this is not something you turn into a sports joke to mock an opponent.

The article title was sort of strange on this one, imo.  When I first read it, I thought there was a rally against a high school.

http://www.pennlive.com/midstate/index.ssf/2012/10/rally_against_jerry_sandusky_v.html
Rally against Jerry Sandusky victim's high school planned for Saturday
By Sara Ganim, The Patriot-News
October 22, 2012

A group of Lock Haven residents and parents with kids in the Keystone Central School District are planning a rally at the high school Saturday in support of Aaron Fisher — the student who revealed that he is Victim 1 in the Jerry Sandusky case.

Heather Ellis, a resident, disabilities advocate and friend of Fisher's mother Dawn Daniels, is one of the organizers. Ellis said the group wants to protest the inactions that Fisher and Daniels have alleged against the school when Fisher first spoke up about his abuse in 2008, and the bullying that Fisher endured after the allegations were made.
The picket is being held at 11 a.m. Saturday, so that teachers and students who are upset are able to attend, Ellis said. It will be followed by a 7 p.m. vigil.

The Facebook group associated with the rally has more than 400 members.

Since charges were filed, Daniels has been speaking to The Patriot-News, consistently saying the abuse her son alleged was not immediately reported by the high school.

Instead, Fisher and Daniels were told to "think about" what they were doing before going to police, Daniels told The Patriot-News.

Fisher, who was a senior in high school at the time, was also being taken from class — without Daniel's knowledge — by Sandusky, a volunteer football coach at the school.

Sandusky arrives at state prison from county jail where he will undergo a week of testing
10/23/'12

Jerry Sandusky became a state prison inmate Tuesday with his transfer out of the Centre County jail, his makeshift home since he was convicted in June of child molestation.

The 68-year-old former Penn State assistant coach arrived early in the morning at the State Correctional Institute at Camp Hill, just outside Harrisburg.

He faces testing and evaluation that will take a week or more before he can be assigned a security risk level and sent to one of the state facilities as his 'home' prison. At Camp Hill, experts will assess his mental state, physical health and education level, and determine whether he needs treatment.

Sandusky was sentenced this month to 30 to 60 years for sexual abuse of 10 boys over a 15-year period.

That hasn't stopped him from repeatedly asserted his innocence and last week filed post-sentencing motions, seeking to have convictions thrown out or a new trial.

There are about 6,800 sex offenders serving time in Pennsylvania's prison system.  ::snipping2::

Review: Jerry Sandusky Victim 1's book dives into politics of Sandusky investigation
10/23/'12

Aaron Fisher, who recently publicly identified himself as Jerry Sandusky’s Victim 1, is marketed as the lead author of the book Silent No More, which hit shelves today.

"I remember when it all started and how I was just so confused. At the time, 'it' had no name. But now I know it was sexual abuse." — Aaron Fisher

He writes about the abuse, his psychological trauma, and how he wants to become a cop. It’s a brave and inspiring account, from his perspective.  ::snipping2::

It includes several pages of speculation about Gov. Tom Corbett’s involvement in delaying the investigation.

Gillum writes about conversations with Jonelle Eshbach, and how she kept promising that an arrest would come — first in March 2010, then in the summer of that year, and continuously until it finally happened in November 2011.

Each time, Gillum writes that Eshbach wouldn’t give a straight answer for a delay, but instead says that her “hands were tied” or that her boss, Corbett, makes all the final decisions.

Gillum writes that he was so convinced that politics was playing a role in the investigation that he put his thoughts on paper, writing a letter to the office expressing his concern, and making at least one unscheduled visit.

He also wrote that the family tried taking their allegations to the FBI, and later considered going to the media with their story.  ::snipping2::
