It had been previously reported in an article posted here that he had a record.  Not too nice, is it?     Just the kind of guy you want to keep your two year old for the week.    

The unbelievable car-jacking story, plus the report he kept changing stories about it, along with his arrest record just sounded like really, really bad news.

Nevers explained he was skeptical from the start. He said Lane's account of the carjacking kept changing.

"He [was] having so many different stories … I don't know what to believe now," Nevers told us. "I know him good and well. He [has] been in our family for years, even ever since junior high."

Lane is known to police. He is a felon convicted of possession of cocaine, possession stolen property and a felon in possession of a firearm.

Early on in the Amber Alert, Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee said he was aware of conflicting stories and criminal convictions, but warned everyone not to lose sight of the objective.

Just comparing the sketch with the photo of baby daddy.  If you put a hat on the baby daddy and pulled the brim down a bit and squint his eyes up a little, maybe.  It's the shape of the face, the lips and the nose that jumped out as similar.  Strange.

Reward increased as search continues in Detroit for 2-year-old Bianca Jones

The search continues today for missing 2-year-old Bianca Jones, a Detroit girl missing since Friday morning.

“Unfortunately, there is nothing new to report,” Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee Jr. said at an afternoon news conference. “We are still searching for the little girl’s whereabouts, and still asking the public for their assistance.”

Godbee said a $15,000 reward, in addition to a $2,500 CrimeStoppers reward, has been offered by someone who doesn’t want to be identified.

“If someone knows something or if you see something, say something,” Godbee said.
ichigan State Police have joined Detroit Police and the FBI in the search, as well as a variety of groups that have stepped forward to help. Searches on foot continue today, including in vacant homes throughout the city.

Godbee said police are still talking to Bianca’s father, Deandre Lane, who is in custody for “issues with another law enforcement agency completely unrelated” to this case, Godbee said. He said Lane is cooperating with the investigation but did not provide further details about why Lane is in custody.

I don't see anything new posted in about Bianca's case yet this morning.  The baby daddy  who is in custody for "issues with another law enforcement agency completely unrelated" to this case," took a poly and this article says the results weren't released.  Hmmm.  My heart goes out to Bianca's older sister "Bella" who wants to see her little sister and cried at the PC yesterday and Bianca's mother, who's been pleading for Bianca's return.

Father Fails Polygraph After Claiming Daughter Stolen in Carjacking

DETROIT –  The father of a missing Detroit girl who claimed his daughter was stolen in a carjacking has failed a polygraph test, MyFoxDetroit.com reports.

Police are still questioning 32-year-old D'Andre Lane, the father of 2-year-old Bianca Jones.

Lane claims a man with a gun carjacked him Friday morning and drove off with Bianca buckled into her car seat.

Lane's car was recovered 10 minutes later, but Bianca was missing.

Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee says the reward for information leading to Bianca's return is now at $17,500 thanks to a businessman's donation. Godbee asked witnesses to come forward with what they know during a news conference Saturday.
