I really would like to know what happened to RG.  IF he helped in a cover-up I would think that someone somewhere could show it.  IF he did not, why would he be hiding out?  This is the stuff of soap operas.

Do you read over at Blink's, Kittymom?  She has "Ray Gricar" in categories.  Go to the link below and look at "Al's" post  in the comments on December 18, 2011 and Blink's reply to it.  Interesting, imo.

Thanks, muffy.  I do read there occasionally.  I have followed Ray's case.  I just can't believe that he committed suicide.  I agree with Blink.  Someone wanted it to look that way.  I'd always believed that he knew something about a case that got him killed.  When the Sandusky link was made I just KNEW this was the case that ended Ray's life.  I keep hoping someone, somewhere will start talking.

I think it's a case of "Follow the Money".  Money and power.  And I think Ray Gricar was murdered. JMHO

Ray Frank Gricar (play /ˈɡriːkɑr/; born October 9, 1945, missing April 15, 2005, declared legally dead July 25, 2011) was an American attorney who served as the district attorney of Centre County, Pennsylvania, from 1985 until 2005. On April 15, 2005, Gricar went missing under mysterious circumstances and has not been heard from since.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Gricar received his Juris Doctor degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and began his career as a prosecutor for Cuyahoga County. He moved to State College, Pennsylvania, around 1980 and after a brief stint as an assistant district attorney, Gricar was elected district attorney of Centre County in 1985. He was re-elected four times before announcing that he would not run for re-election in the 2005 campaign.

Gricar was reported missing to authorities after failing to return home from a road trip. His car was found in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, with his cell phone inside, and his laptop computer was found in the adjacent Susquehanna River; other than that, very little trace of Gricar has been found. When he had been missing for over six years with no trace of his whereabouts, Centre County authorities declared Gricar legally dead on July 25, 2011.

I can't decide if this guy was killed for what he knew or if he ran away for covering up a serial child abuse at PS.  He's either completely innocent or thoroughly guilty.

State Police Taking Over Ray Gricar Disappearance
February 11, 2014

BELLEFONTE, Pa. – It's a mystery that has puzzled investigators in the Centre region for years and has been the highlight of several documentaries and television specials: The disappearance of Centre County District Attorney Ray Gricar. Now, after nine years, the Pennsylvania State Police is now taking over the investigation from local authorities. State police announced the changes in the case Monday, stating troopers will be taking over as the lead agency to receive new tips and oversee a task force that was formed to investigate the disappearance. Gricar was last seen in 2005 at an antiques business in Lewisburg, Union County. Gricar's family had him legally declared dead in 2011, seven years after his disappearance. The task force was formed by current Centre County District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller and up until Monday, the Bellefonte Police Department was the lead department on the case. State police said the Troop G Major Case Team, comprised of Troop G criminal investigators, will continue to work on the investigation with the assistance of the task force and Bellefonte police. The team will be reviewing the investigation status and looking at ways to further the case, police said. State police asked anyone with information relating to the case to call their tip line at 1-800-472-8477 (1-800-4patips).\

6 News reporter Gary Sinderson said investigators familiar with the case maintain they don't know if Gricar is dead or alive, and have no evidence to show either way.

State Police Take Over Search for Missing DA Connected to Sandusky
February 11, 2014

State police are assuming a lead role in a decade-long search for a missing central Pennsylvania prosecutor who declined to prosecute former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.

Former Centre County District Attorney Ray Gricar has not been seen since leaving work in 2005, seven years after he decided against charging Sandusky following a woman's complaint to State College police that Sandusky had showered with her son. Gricar was declared legally dead in 2011.

Cpl. Lucas Rankin with the state police's Rockview station said Tuesday that his agency was taking over all of the evidence and reports and determining which witnesses need to be re-interviewed.

The county's current district attorney, Stacy Parks Miller, formed a task force in 2010 to investigate Gricar's disappearance.

Rankin said state troopers from Hollidaysburg, Rockview and Lewistown will be handling the investigation, taking over at the request of police in Bellefonte, where Gricar had worked as county prosecutor.

‘Fresh set of eyes’ as Bellefonte hands off Gricar case to state police
February 15, 2014

BELLEFONTE — For Bellefonte Police Chief Shawn Weaver, turning over the investigation into the disappearance of Ray Gricar to state police was not a matter of saying goodbye to the case that has been part of his department for almost nine years.

“I felt it was time,” he said. “After years of investigation, it deserves to have a fresh set of eyes look at it.”

Gricar, the longtime Centre County district attorney, was last seen April 15, 2005. His red Mini Cooper was found the next day in Lewisburg. His computer was recovered from the Susquehanna River.

Speculation has run rampant for years regarding his whereabouts. Did he just leave town without a word to his girlfriend or daughter? Was he killed?

His involvement in cases ranging from a drug bust shortly before his disappearance to early investigations of former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky have fueled conspiracy theories.

The files went to the Troop G Major Case Team, including investigators from both Rockview and Lewistown. The move came at Weaver’s request, he said.

In recent years, tips have come in not only from in and around Centre County, but from all over the state — sometimes across the country.

Weaver said the resources of the small municipal department are just not the same as those at the disposal of the state.

If a tip comes from Philadelphia, for example, the state police can have it investigated by local troopers instead of having someone drive five hours to chase it down.

Weaver said he and his department will continue to stay involved in the case, as will the rest of the small think-tank of agencies and investigators that have been involved over the years.

That includes the Gricar Task Force, which Centre County District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller said remains a top priority to her office.

Parks Miller formed the group in 2010.

“There was a consensus to ask (state police) to take over as lead due to manpower reasons,” Parks Miller said. “I am very appreciative of Commissioner Frank Noonan and the Pennsylvania State Police for agreeing to do so.

Ray Gricar Disappearance: Was The Missing DA Murdered By A Hells Angel? New Claim Points To Yes

The disappearance of Ray Gricar is one of the most tantalizing missing-persons cases in recent memory. Over the eight-plus years since the Centre County, Pa., district attorney vanished on April 15, 2005, few clues had emerged -- until now.

According to the Altoona Mirror, the FBI, Pennsylvania State Police and Bellefonte Police Department have joined forces to follow up on a claim that the missing DA was murdered by a former member of the Hells Angels biker gang. “It’s ongoing,” Bellefonte police Det. Matthew Rickard said of the investigation.

The Altoona Mirror said a source contacted the newspaper in May with new information about the case, claiming that the person responsible for Gricar’s murder was a former Hells Angel-turned-FBI informant who served time in prison for aggravated assault in the late 1990s.

Source says body of missing DA in Penn State sex scandal case was hidden in a shaft after former Hell's Angel has his 'knee caps spun' and throat slit
Centre County District Attorney Ray Gricar went missing in 2005 while driving to work
In 1998, Gricar was informed about sexual abuse allegations against Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky, but he decided not to press charges
After the sex abuse scandal came to light in 2011, some believed that his disappearance may have something to do with the sex scandal
A former Hell's Angels ranking officer told police and local press in May that Gricar was actually killed by a former member and it had nothing to do with Penn State
The source took FBI agents to the Pennsylvania property where Gricar's body was buried but didn't point out the exact location
He wants to secure immunity first since there are four other bodies buried in the same shaft as Gricar and he doesn't want to incriminate himself
