I think all of us know here when a story stinks to the high Heavens.

Pumadore's made no sense in any way. Every aspect of his story was suspect and the fact that family members stood behind it and they kept referring to Aliahna's physical and emotional history is rather offensive.

Why did complete strangers who never met this little girl have more common sense and stand behind the girl than family members?

They can't hurt her anymore.
and on top of all of that, her own grandfather was a convicted molester.  Not much can cause PTSD in a child and when I read that article I felt I knew exactly what caused that.  NO children should be living in that trailer park. Period.  Parents who do move into that place with children should have their current and future parental rights abolished.  This mother should never, ever have allowed those children anywhere near their grandfather. IMO, she is as much to blame for Aliahna's death as the actual killer.  I sincerely hope the remaining children have been removed from her care and are getting thorough checkups.

I just don't know if I can do this much longer.  I am sick to my stomach from this.  How is it that I (and all of you) can care more about these kids than their own parents?  I guarantee that this child and her sisters were ALL being molested way before this tragic ending.  I am so sick and I want so much for it to stop.  It has to stop.  Good job cartfly on all the research...and everyone else.  Rest in Peace sweet Aliahna.

I share your feelings too. This has been one of the worst years I can remember regarding children going missing/abused and neglected. These cases take a toll on us all emotionally. I think I may need a break from all this but yet I keep coming back. I just don't understand why this keeps happening over and over.

Fly with the Angels baby girl, the Monkeys here love you an angelic monkey an angelic monkey

Because good must always battle evil and win. I can remember a couple of cases that I first ever followed and needless to say they did not have a good outcome. I cried my eyes out. You do it for them because some one must care.

The Adre-Anna case and  3 year old Marcus Fiesel broke my heart. Not that all of them don't but these two were crushing.

Quote
Scared Monkeys: Missing & Exploited was later contacted by Rick McCrabb of the Ohio newspaper, The Middletown Journal, for comments and our coverage of this case.

Newspapers and television stations in southwest Ohio have followed every step in the case, and now that his foster parents have been charged, the story has grabbed the attention of media outlets throughout the United States.

There are Web sites that feature photo albums, message boards, chat rooms and slide and video shows. One of those is www.scaredmonkeys.com, dedicated to exploited and missing children. “Red,” one of the site’s co-founders, said after news of Marcus’ disappearance was linked to his Web site, he received an e-mail from Marcus’ foster mother. She chastised the site for their portrayal.

“As soon as she did that, well, it was like, she’s guilty,” Red said Friday from his office. “You knew this was going to end bad. The radar just went up. It raises the hair on the back of your neck. When you kill your son, and go public pleading for help, it brings it to a special level of hell.”

He said Marcus’ story has drawn widespread coverage because people are so “disgusted by it.” (Middletown Journal)

Thanks cartfly and Red, so true.  It hurts to follow these cases but like you said, someone has to care.  Thanks for sharing.  I was ready to fold it up but this isn't about me or my feelings.  I admire each of you that have stayed with this even through the pain.  I appreciate you all so much.  As a mother I just cannot understand so much of what I read in these cases.

Dominic Adams | The Journal Gazette
Aliahna

Investigators found the body of a 9-year-old girl Aliahna Lemmon in northern Allen County and the family friend with whom she had been staying has been arrested, Allen County Sheriff Ken Fries announced tonight.

Aliahna Lemmon was last seen about 6.a.m. Friday sleeping in the mobile home of family friend Michael Plumadore.

Plumadore has been arrested on a preliminary charge of murder and will appear in court in Allen County Tuesday morning.

Plumadore initially claimed he last saw Aliahna sleeping in his home early Friday morning. He said he noticed she was missing a short time later and assumed she went back home to her mother. Because of a lack of communication, Aliahna was not reported missing until Friday night.

The case prompted a large-scale search involving dozens of police, firefighters and FBI agents on Christmas Eve Saturday.

Sheriff Fries said they arrested Plumadore after his third interview with investigators. He gave "indication as to his involvement in this," according to Fries, and where the body could be found.

Plumadore has a criminal history. Fries says he has convictions for non-violent crimes, mostly out of Florida and mostly dealing with auto theft.

Rest in peace Aliahna, you're safe in the arms of Jesus now.   an angelic monkey

I knew in my heart this wouldn't have a happy ending, the red flags were all there.

Too many, it just gets overwhelming.

But I do care about them all, and my heart aches for them all.  It's just so sad.

I couldn't sleep and signed back on to find this heartbreaking news.  Thank you Monkeys for the updates.  I was sure hoping for a better outcome but I had a feeling it wasn't going to be good.

Red, I appreciate your info on the FBI and I'm glad they got involved so quickly.

I hate this heart ache, it hurts so much.  At least they have the monster and sweet little Aliahna suffers no more.

This case smelled of BS from the moment I read about it, first off what mom would hand her kids off for a week and not even bother to see them for days, what kind of mom would allow her children to be in an enviroment that is 50 percent pedophiles, and why did it seem mom and grandmom made her out to be the problem by stating she had emotional problems, PTSD which is a huge flag IMO that something horrific had already happened and most likely repeatedly considering her grandfather was also a pervert. Then the blaise attitude of "oh she sleepwalks and could open doors and get out", the way they stood up for the monster yet continued to speak of her behavoiral problems. He77, growing up with that family I can't see how on earth she wouldn't have issues but those are due to the parents/grandparents and their own selfish needs. Who here has ever left their child with the neighbor for a week due to flu.....that in and of itself was a huge red flag. I pray they remove these children and carefully evaluate where to place them as I am certain the other kids must have deep emotional issues from being raised by nothing more than egg/sperm donor who seem to be a waste of oxygen.

Also I read on the child's godmother's FB that she was found cut up Sad I pray that is not the truth and if it is, they should toss him in general population for 20 minutes and be done with it.

Children are a gift from God, but it seems all to often they are nothing more than a hindrance to those who should have loved and protected them yet couldn't be bothered. May they all rot in hell.

Sorry for no FB link, it seems to have gone poof very quickly...but this is were I found the link to begin with, her name (the godmother) is angela mehaffey.

Fly with the Angels baby girl, the Monkeys here love you an angelic monkey an angelic monkey

Fueled by child pornography easily found on line and seeing the numbers of parents and pedophiles getting away with crimes against children, these pedophiles and predators are growing more brazen.

This cycle also encompasses the children who are abused and molested who then go on to do those same things since learned behavior is a factor within the cycle as well.  The functioning capacity of the abused child's brain is distorted and changed by the abuse causing behavioral changes they then carry into adulthood.

Look at this mother as an example.  She must have known what was happening to her daughters and yet she as much as handed them over to her grandfather and his housemate.  It is a likelihood that she was raised under similar circumstances.

It is my concern that if we do not tackle child pornography and abuse/murder of children head on and with great force it will continue to cycle out of control.  A streamlined court system set up strictly for crimes against children would assist with an immediate cleansing of this parasitic infestation we are facing.

We've had war on drugs, war on terrorism, war on drunk driving.  Maybe we need a war against child abuse/pornography/murder?  An awareness campaign of sorts.

Problem is the subject is difficult to look at.  Few people are willing to discuss it and so it festers in the dark and shadows, growing like mold.

Sorry, I will step off my soap box.  I'm just passionate about the subject and see no end without drastic measures.  Aliahna will suffer no more and for that I am thankful.

I hate that I have become s cynical, but I wonder if mom wasn't pimping her daughter out....what single man would want to take on 3 young girls for a week, I just feel like there was an ulterior motive and maybe she was too hard to take care of (in mom's eyes). Why didn't grandma help out, what about stepdad since he only worked nights and surely he didn't sleep every minute when he was home. A nine yr old could actually be helpful when you are sick....I had the flu myself when my daughter was this age and the reason I remember it so well is that I had just filed for divorce, she would get me juice, my medication for fever, she was more of a help than a hindrance.....granted she probably ate cereal or takeout during that time but we made it just fine, it's not like the mom was deathly ill. Grandma really bothers me by blaming Aliahna :

Grandmother of missing 9-year-old Aliahna Lemmon joined HLN's Nancy Grace to try to and help figure out what happened to the little girl who vanished from Fort Wayne, Indiana on Christmas Eve. According to the grandma, Amber Story, some believe Aliahna’s disappearance could be attributed to sleepwalking. “She left on her own. She was asleep. She unlocked the doors … we believe she was thinking she was going home, and … she just disappeared.”

When Nancy and another guest questioned the behavior of family friend, Mike Plumadore, the last person to report seeing little Aliahna alive, the girl's grandmother responded by saying, “I have no, no qualms in saying Mike would never hurt any of those children or any children, period … I do not blame him…the only blame is to the person who took her.”

HOW on earth was she so certain she left on her own and then poof, she disappeard but don't blame Mike....he'd never hurt anyone so I don't blame him?? WTF........most ppl are angry whether it is justified or not when a "caregiver" loses a child, yet she is so defiant about speaking ill wrt Mike but not upset about blaming her granddaughter. Then later in the interview she takes up for him and obviously thinks it is ok to leave children home alone when 15 out of 24 trailers are occupied by RSO's? I wouldn't do it if they were occupied with nuns, but here she is defending him again:

STORY: There are people all over the United States who leave their older children with their younger children to watch them for five or six minutes.

GRACE: OK.

STORY: And I know for a fact that when I was a child, I was only 6 years old, and my parents would go out (INAUDIBLE) and leave us alone in the house. And my brother was not even 2 years -- was about 2 years old. So it may be different nowadays for most people, but not everybody`s perfect in this world. (INAUDIBLE) definitely not perfect
(INAUDIBLE) definitely not perfect.

And I also don't buy for a nano second that he stayed up to comfort her at 2:30 so he was too exhausted to stay awake, and didn't take her home since he didn't want to leave the two girls by themselves yet it was ok to leave 3 of them to go buy a cigar?

More from the transcript:

STORY: He has been a family friend for very long.

GRACE: ... you`re saying two different things, from what I`m picking up. You`re saying that she wandered off on her own because she`s had night terrors, sleptwalked before. She can unlock a door and go out a door in her sleep. But you`re also saying it`s the fault of whoever -- whomever took her.

So is your theory that she sleptwalked out the door in an effort to go home, and then someone took her?

STORY: Yes. That`s what we believe.

Seriously LE had to know she was lying her arse off, but I do have lingering issues as the perp's motives in all of this, the mother and grandmother.

Aren't there any happy endings left?  These babies go missing and the world just keeps on going.  Something is terribly wrong with our society.
