Good morning everyone!

Long night, my friend Dennis' mother is in ICU following emergency surgery for a bowl obstruction.  Apparently old scar tissue.  The bowl had started to die.  Prayers please for Louise and the family.

how is Louise doing?   an angelic monkey an angelic monkey
Thank you for asking can.  For a lady 90 years old she is doing remarkably well.  Is being moved to a step down unit today.  Oh, the wonderful power of prayer and the graciousness of our Lord!

Wonderful,  she continues to be in my prayers.

Can, I am thinking about you, your brother, and his family.

Two youngest grandkids just got a new English Bulldog puppy last night......cry,cry,cry,bark,bark,bark.......  Their mom finally wound up sleeping with it...in her hair.
I told them just bring it to me.

Molly is your new pup?  Sorry if you said what kind...didn't you say you wanted a lab?  Actually sounds kind of fun, mine potty trained easily.  It was just the other issues - like biting and humping the neighborhood kids!!

So sweet that your MIL was crowned at her home.  I just talked to my Mom - who is in a Memory Care facility.  I will not go into any of it, but put her on your prayer chain, if you will my monkey friends.  It is not going well.  (Not because of the facility, it would not have mattered where...it is just more than I can take at times).  It is more than anyone of us can take.

Prayers for all of you.  I am virtually holding your hand, Caddy, we will get through this together.

Thanks Trimmy - I will be okay - I just don't know how to deal with my Mom. Nothing we do is ever right. And I mean that. Nothing.

I am right there with you, Cadi--the nothing you ever do is right part.  As she ages, she will get more like this.  Just remember it is an illness and it is not you.  If nothing you do can please her, stop trying and just do what you think is right and don't look back.

I am not sure if this has been an ongoing problem or not, but I highly recommend the book, "Toxic Parents" by Dr. Susan Forward, all except the part where it says to confront your parent(s).  Awareness was the key, I didn't think confrontation was part of it, at least not for me.  I recommended it to someone who was having the same issues.  She loved the book and could not put it down.  Good luck.  You are not alone.

Thanks TBM - this has been going on for as long as I can remember in my life- and a soul gets tired.

We hear you.  Prayers for you and your family.

JSM, here is a pic of GE's Grand-puppy BENTLEY, tomorrow is his de-manning day.  Hopefully it will take a bit of his friskiness down a couple of pegs, he's a wild little man.

What a cutie!

Off to Mom's tomorrow. Got another appointment for tour.

Daughter and family expected on the weekend for a wee bday party for my Mom at my place.  Can't wait to see our grandkids.  Got to get my act together, quick!

Good thoughts to all the wonderful monkeys!

Happy Birthday Can's Mom!  Your daughter is a blessing.

Hope you all have a wonderful time!

Thanks Trimmy - I will be okay - I just don't know how to deal with my Mom. Nothing we do is ever right. And I mean that. Nothing.

Caddi - Just remember that she is also frustrated and most of the time reacting to her unease. She is not sure what is wrong but she knows something is so she just lashes out. That and the paranoia that is part of the disease makes it hard to like them but it is not personal. My dear sweet MIL called me a honky beeoch whore last time she was in the hospital - right after she got done telling everyone how nice I was. Just remember it is not them talking - it is the disease!

TBM, I am so sorry.

I had the impression that Caddi's Mom acted like this before, no?  Sorry if I misunderstood.

You are so sweet - TBM - I hear what you are saying.  I am just having a very hard time with understanding what is part of the disease and what is personality. My sis and I have studied this a very long time - and we have social work degrees ...the accusations are unbearable at times.

On another note, I have a wonderful dad, husband, children and life so I can't dwell on this noose...
