We are getting Molly in 2 weeks...what am I getting myself into?? puppy training..

My 90 yr old Mother in Law was crowned Queen Valentine of the nursing home that she lives at.  it was funny...crown and a robe..there was also a King ...

Molly is your new pup?  Sorry if you said what kind...didn't you say you wanted a lab?  Actually sounds kind of fun, mine potty trained easily.  It was just the other issues - like biting and humping the neighborhood kids!!

So sweet that your MIL was crowned at her home.  I just talked to my Mom - who is in a Memory Care facility.  I will not go into any of it, but put her on your prayer chain, if you will my monkey friends.  It is not going well.  (Not because of the facility, it would not have mattered where...it is just more than I can take at times).  It is more than anyone of us can take.
Caddi, praying for you and your family.  an angelic monkey
Thanks Trimmy - I will be okay - I just don't know how to deal with my Mom. Nothing we do is ever right. And I mean that. Nothing.

I am right there with you, Cadi--the nothing you ever do is right part.  As she ages, she will get more like this.  Just remember it is an illness and it is not you.  If nothing you do can please her, stop trying and just do what you think is right and don't look back.

I am not sure if this has been an ongoing problem or not, but I highly recommend the book, "Toxic Parents" by Dr. Susan Forward, all except the part where it says to confront your parent(s).  Awareness was the key, I didn't think confrontation was part of it, at least not for me.  I recommended it to someone who was having the same issues.  She loved the book and could not put it down.  Good luck.  You are not alone.

There seems to be so many friends and loved ones going thru this very thing.  Thank you for the book I will  recommend it to a couple friends. Prayers for all our Monkeys having a hard time right now with the caring of their loved ones.  an angelic monkey

GE, 'Toxic Parents' is not a book about memory loss.  The subtitle is 'Overcoming their Hurtful Legacy and Reclaiming Your Life.'

A book about memory loss:
The 36-Hour Day, fifth edition: The 36-Hour Day: A Family Guide to Caring for People Who Have Alzheimer Disease, Related Dementias, and Memory Loss (A Johns Hopkins Press Health Book) by Nancy L. Mace and Peter V. Rabins

http://www.wfaa.com/news/Frisco-police-seek-missing-teen-139578504.html

FRISCO — Frisco police issued an alert Saturday for a teenage girl who has been missing since Friday night.

Bethany Stroud, 18, was last seen leaving her job at the Dr Pepper Arena at 9:30 p.m. Friday. Co-workers said she was walking toward her teal-and-black 1998 Pontiac Sunfire.

About 20 minutes later, dispatchers received a 911 call from Stroud's cell phone. "There was no conversation on the line," a statement from police said.

Investigators are asking for the public's help in finding Stroud and her vehicle, with Texas plates CXB-475. Call Frisco police at 972-292-6000 or contact your local police agency with any relevant information.

Muffy or Bearly is there a link for Bethany??? I skate sometimes at the rink where she went missing.

Peter Frampton's Long Lost Guitar Returns to the Concert Stage

MUSIC NEWS- This week, on February 18 at NYC's Beacon Theater, Grammy winning guitarist Peter Frampton will play his restored 1954 Gibson Les Paul for the first time.  The long-lost guitar, now dubbed The Lady Pheonix,  was recently discovered on the Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao after its disappearance in a plane crash 32 years ago. Frampton was reunited with the guitar in an emotional meeting in Nashville this past December. Now, with the help of the Gibson Guitar’s Custom Shop, Frampton will debut the recovered guitar during his NYC concert on his world tour celebrating the 35th anniversary of multi-platinum selling live album Frampton Comes Alive!.

Hi Caddy - how was your day off?  . . .and today is Friday
Hey!!

My day off was wonderful - and I worked all day yesterday- so not going into work today either!  (I work for my hub's business- so as long as I am caught up - I have that pleasure).

Thanks for asking!  What will your day bring?

Great to have that latitude and nice knowing you can grab a day or two off when business pemits.
My day was consumed with research on bladder cancer.
Can, not that I can help with bladder cancer research, maybe TBM can help. If I can help in any way let me know. I can always ask my doctors, but they may not have the answers. If you have questions, ask Klaas for my email and I will try and help as much as I can.

Hugs and prayers.  an angelic monkey

Thank you so much JSM.  Your kindness touches me.   an angelic monkey

My bro will begin his treatments tomorrow and I hope the treatment goes well and he can tolerate them.
an angelic monkey Can your kindness and the monkeys kidness touches me.

I pray your brother tolerates the treatment.

Thank you,  I'm so hoping....rang him tonight - no answer...hope he and sil are out having a
nice dinner before he has to face the music tomorrow.
I hope all is well Can and everything went okay.  an angelic monkey

Praying for you, your brother, and his family.

 an angelic monkey

Thank you bearly!

Had a great little birthday party for my Mom.  She was very pleased.  She loves being around the great grandchildren.

Toured another long term care facility on Thursday.  My Mom really liked it and has decided
that she doesn't need to look at any others.  Next step is to have the doctor send a letter of recommendation to the authority that manages admissions, a patient assessment and he wil be placed on waiting list.  Expect he will be received as a crises intake.
