Morning Monkeys

Yikes not much sleep for this Texas Monkey. We didn't have any of the Tornado's around here that the southern and western areas had. It has not stopped raining since yesterday afternoon. But after about 7 last night it started lightening and thundering. And didn't stop until around 7 this morning. It seemed like it was continuous all night. I love thunder and lightening. But it was so loud and would rumble one and one until the next one would hit.  Each time I would just about get to sleep another strike of lightning would hit and then the boom would come. The whole house would vibrate from them. I know we need the rain. But 3 to 6 inches and some areas got up to 7 inches in less than 24 hours is bit to much to fast.

I don't know how the other Texas Monkeys did. But I am ready for some sleep.

Hope you feel better, GE.

Sure know what you mean GE about the Ka-boomers, that thunder was un-relenting all night.  The dogs were so terrified we couldn't hold them down, thankgoodness the cats slept through most of it.

Showing 4 inches of rain in my gauge but it sure felt like more!

Guess CC finally got his first good Texas storm under his belt!  You can come out from under the bed now CC, its just about over........

Hope you got some rest too, Babs!

Cc.  Super duper good luck on Thursday..good comparison Brandi on the cost of living Chicago vs Texas....even if you have to reduce your pay, you will have a job and you can look for something else while employed...

Sister...thinking of you and Connie! Good news it seems?

Brandi...sorry that you and son are not feeling the best...darn it..
Donks...glad that you were not injured..

I don't like my puppy at all! Sad but true...no enjoyable time with her...obedience class better help..

Good morning Monkeys--Good morning Cookie--  I haven't been around much lately and likely won't in the future because of some great things happening in my life, but I did want to tell you about my experience when I first got Charlie. Charlie was a big older than Molly when I got him, but still a young dog.  He was losing his baby teeth and so he must have been about six months old.  He loved to crunch down on my hand or any part of me he could reach.  I also had the blind Yorkie.  I hired Dawn, the young woman who has a show on the Animal Planet and lives in the town I do to come over to help me with Charlie and also advise me about Tuppence.  She told me that male dogs rarely attack female dogs and my Yorkie would be fine.  She was.  But what I butted in here for was to tell you about Charlie's biting.  She told me that when Charlie bit me that I should scream as loud as I could.  I did it maybe two times and never had the problem with Charlie again.  He sometimes plays with me and acts as if he is going to bite but it's a very gentle bite and he knows not to hurt me because I'll scream. In ten minutes she had him walking by my side on the leash and sitting on command.

I sometimes see her at the Vet with her dogs.  (She has a performing dog show at a theatre here,) and her dogs are so well behaved she can take four or five in at a time and they just sit and wait their turn.  She recently married and I can't think of her last name now but her first name is Dawn.

Having a puppy is frustrating until they learn what is expected of them.  Dogs are usually eager to please and Molly will become so.  But then I never met a dog I didn't like.

Best regards to everyone and I hope everyone is well and happy.  Prayers for those who need them.  Hugs for those who need them too.

...and the great things are??

Don't go...you forgot to tell us about the great things!  Come back here!!!  Please?

Babybear,

So glad to hear wonderful things are happening in your life!

But sorry to hear you won't be around much. I hope you find time to check in on us occasionally.

Seems we are losing too many wonderful monkeys lately.

Take care, Babybear!

Baby bear....thank u for your story and the advise..don't go anywhere! I need you lol! Seriously, what good things are coming your way? You so deserve good things!

Today Molly and I had a great day..she was better today. I took her with me over to pick up the grands and we stayed at their house for a few years and played and she was really good. She loves to ride in the car. I realized today that I have put much focus on the things that she was doing wrong more so than the things that she has done right. Such A's, in 2 short weeks, she has adjusted to a new home away from her mom and family. She is pretty much house broken. She walks beside me on a leash. She loves to ride in the car and does not whine..just lays down and sleeps..she loves everyone. Suddenly my heart has opened today and I really felt a connection to her.  She seemed to have a sore leg or paw tonight when she got home with me and had gone outside. I found myself melting and really hoping that she will be ok tomorrow morning..otherwise to the vet we go..it seems that she and I have turned a corner so I really hope that she is ok...I have heard that labs have bad hip problems..hope not her.

So, thanks everyone for seeing what I did not see until now..

Hope our Texas friends don't have any more bad weather! Beautiful here! 83 sunny degrees!

Good morning Monkeys!

JSM - Sorry about your shoulder.  Must be a big bummer for you.  I hope that you experience the same results that Sister has expressed.  Sister has no regrets for having the surgery and found it worthwhile.  Hope that when you get the surgery behind you, you will be able to skate and play golf to your hearts content.

CC - and JSM - Really love your patio flowers.  Was hoping the storm wouldn't hurt them.

CC - Sending very best wishes your way for Thursday.

Cookie -
hope Molly Mocha does not have hip displasia.  Glad to hear you're feeling the love!

Babybear -  Brighten my day with your good news.  Please!

GE - & Babs - Glad you are safe from the storms.

4Donks - Glad you did not get hurt in the accident.  It seems crazy to me that the cop
just let the guy that caused the accident walk away.

oh - I hadn't finished posting.  .   . hope I haven't forgotten anyone. . .

Bearly - I see where you're coming from regarding Cubbys choices.  I know that when kids are moving on to post secondary education, they often hope to go forward with some of their friends.  It's quite an emotional time for them, venturing into unknown territory and doing so without the friends they are used to is a bit scary.

Spent the day with my Mom yesterday.  She had been ill and had to postphone the assessment appointment re long term care for her husband.  She's fine now and met with the social worker on Monday.  The woman did the interview and took it all down on her laptop.
My Mom has been offered some assistance.  They will send someone to stay with her husband so my Mom can do her shopping etc.  Also will send someone to assist with light housekeeping.
He has told the social worker he will not go into a nursing home.  My Mom will have 24 hours once a placement becomes available to have him there or he will be off the list.

Molly only woke up once last night...yea!

She seems to not be hurting today. I suspect that may have hurt herself coming up the steps of the deck last night because she does not want to climb the stairs now. She seems afraid...will keep an eye on her.

Everybody ok out in monkey land?

Will have to check out Hailey Dunns thread. Thanks for the heads up GE..

Morning Monkeys..... going to get caught up here during the day.

Just read where they think they found Hailey Dunn's remains. I have prayed that they would find her alive, even though I knew that wouldn't be the case. RIP sweet Hailey.

Prayers and hugs and lots of love to you all.

Love JSM

can, having been a caregiver for so many years, I can tell you your Mom will feel a heavy load lifted with the assistance she is offered.  When the time comes for a decision about her husband, she will make the right one I am sure.

Hope the storms miss all the monkeys.
Sister keeping fingers crossed for Connie.
Brandi how's your son doing? (you too)
Today I wasted most of the day with the insurance company. Yesterday was involved in a six car accident and the truck was carried away on truck. They were suppose to do the estimate today but it didn't happen...so maybe tomorrow. The guy that caused the accident had no drivers licence, car registration or insurance and spoke no English. The State Trooper didn't ticket or arrest him. His car was totaled and he just disappeared from the scene.....very aggravating.
JSM I hope playing golf won't aggravate your shoulder.

Everyone have a safe day and I'm off to do the donks.

4 Donks, why did the officer just let him walk away?  Do you know?
I would be furious!
