Lame presentation, in my view.  He is pinning his hopes on technicalities & confusing issues to winning the day for him.   Tiresome.

Is it just me here?

I'm in and out, trying to keep an eye on what's going on.

It's "very" boring.
Let's see if snotrage will get away with this.
I'll be back when we get the verdict on this.

Mr. Mitnik must be making good points, as Casey's lawyers are trying to appear amused.

heres my question for those moron talking head attorneys who say zfg has no case. Is it just an amazing coincidence that zfg filled out a card at sawgrass, casey had a connection to sawgrass & she chose that name for her imaginanny.

Exactly --- and her name isn't as generic and multitudinous as Mary Smith or Mary Jones --- her name is highly unusual.  Maybe there are a few others in that part of Florida, but everywhere else, it's very distinctive and quite remarkable.

It is reasonable to think that a mother would be on such personal terms with her child's nanny that she would know the nanny's middle name, whereas, the general public would not.  Trying to make a point about the middle name is moot, in my opinion.

Casey Anthony, Zenaida Gonzalez civil trial back in court
Anthony's lawyers ask for trial to be thrown out

http://www.clickorlando.com/news/Hearing-set-for-Casey-Anthony-Zenaida-Gonzalez-civil-trial/-/1637132/9686742/-/x8hb91/-/index.html

ORLANDO, Fla. -Lawyers for Casey Anthony and Zenaida Gonzalez were back in court Friday in a hearing for Gonzalez's civil trial.

Anthony's lawyers asked Judge Lisa Munyon to have the lawsuit thrown out.

Gonzalez's attorneys sought a judgment in favor on some of the allegations for damages.

Gonzalez's attorneys said they have already submitted enough evidence to show their client was defamed by Anthony. They also cited jailhouse videos in which Anthony claims police never showed her a picture of Gonzalez, when in fact, they did.

Anthony's attorneys said the same jailhouse videos show that the description Anthony gave of the nanny she said was with her daughter, Caylee, has no resemblance to Gonzalez. They also said Anthony never said she was the kidnapper.

Munyon said she would rule on the requests within the next 60 days.

Munyon ruled earlier this month that the trial will start Jan. 2, 2013.  It had been scheduled to begin in April.

So now we wait. Some more.

Why can't any judge just make their determination right then and there?
This is not news to them.

Thanks for all the updates, guys.
Finally got another insane job.

Crap, I forgot about the hearing! Agh, it's been such an awful week and I really wanted to see it. Thanks for the links and sharing what happened everyone. Did Team Z play the video for the judge? The one where CA repeated kc's lie for the whole country to hear? That video that is so hard to find online?

Casey Anthony civil hearing ends without a ruling
Saturday, March 24, 2012

ORLANDO, Fla. - After about three hours of argument on Friday, the question of whether a civil defamation lawsuit brought against Casey Anthony will be allowed to proceed to trial remains unanswered.

Judge Lisa Munyon decided against ruling on a pair of motions - one from each side - that could either help bolster the claims of the plaintiff, Zenaida Gonzalez, or reject her entire suit.
 ::snipping2::
The central question for much of Friday’s legal debate: Did Anthony identify Gonzalez specifically enough when she told detectives a nanny with a similar name had taken her daughter?
 ::snipping2::
The hearing Friday addressed a pair of motions, one from the defense, asking for a full ruling in their favor, and another from Gonzalez, seeking a partial judgment.

Gonzalez’s attorneys are asking the judge to rule that Cindy Anthony was acting on her daughter’s behalf when she relayed information from Casey - in jail at the time - to the media.

Munyon did not rule on either motion on Friday. She said she plans to issue a written order within the next 60 days. Barring a ruling for the defense, the case is slated for trial Jan. 2, 2013.
