A Longmont-area man is asking for help finding his wife, who reportedly left the family's home on foot on Saturday evening has has not returned.

Austin Shackelford said his 31-year-old wife, Jessica Lynn Shackelford, left the house on the 12900 block of Hillcrest Drive on foot at about 8 p.m. after the argument. He said he was in the bathroom when she left, but his son saw her leave the house. He said she left her cell phone behind, has missed two days of work, and has never done anything like this before.

"I love her and I want her to know she should come home," he said. "This is not typical of my wife."

He said he figured she walked away to cool off, and he called law enforcement on Sunday morning when she had not turned up. Now, he said, he is scared that something happened to her.

According to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, she was last seen at a business on the 2200 block of Main Street about 8:40 p.m. Saturday.

Body found that of missing Longmont woman Jessica Shackelford

A body found in an alfalfa field north of Longmont on Monday afternoon was identified Tuesday as that of Jessica Lynn Shackelford, who had been reported missing over the weekend.

Boulder County Sheriff's spokeswoman Heidi Prentup said that the death appears to be due to exposure and that alcohol might be a factor.

 

The overnight low in Longmont on Saturday night was 28 degrees. The low Sunday night was 18.

sad news, was hoping she just left for a few days to cool off
i find it weird that she ended up dead in a field 3.5 mile from
where she was last seen, wonder how she got there, as hubby
said she walked away, i can see the sighting of her on main st.
as it is just a mile from her home, but the field is 3.5 mile west of
her home and the main st. sighting.
