On this google map there appears to be a surveillance camera on the building behind the coffee hut Samantha worked at. Also this appears to be a very busy area.....somebody had to have seen something

Something that I read on her father's FB page made me think he was on friendly terms with the current boyfriend.  I may be wrong, I am not positive.  Just a note on the pictures (they are great.)  Anchorage has had a crazy amount of snow and with the businesses plowing out their parking lots there are huge mounds of snow blocking visibility all over town, we are talking many feet high.  Pictures that I saw show very large mounds near the coffee shop.

I read in the comments at adn.com that a local station KTUU interviewed some "person" who was a witness to the abduction but he/she was too shaken to speak about it. I went to KTUU's website but didn't see anything of that nature. Is KTUU a local station of yours and if so did you see anything to this affect? Waaaaait a minute here.

Boyfriend goes to pick her up that night.  She's not there.  Eventually calls APD to report her as missing.

Next day, owner of coffee shack reviews the video, see's the disturbing evidence that she was abducted and/or kidnapped.  APD is called again and an investigation starts.

Now, KTUU TV shows a woman who WITNESSED the abduction and is too upset to talk.  Too upset to talk, meaning she saw something disturbing.  You're telling me now that there was a woman who witnessed a person being taken away by a man with a gun and didn't call 911 that night?  Saw something that she's so upset about and didn't call 911?!?!

APD has told her not to talk.  Duh!

And the web gets bigger.....

She said on TV the first or second nite after it happened that she saw someone walking a woman down Tudor in a head lock.  It was on the news one time and that was it and no one said anything about it...

I don't ever remember reading that the boyfriend called APD to report her missing.  It was always the coffee shack people who called APD and reported her missing.  I thought.

And maybe she did call 911.  Maybe they're just not telling us that...for a reason.

I also got the idea that the woman who saw something was to upset to talk about it...to the press or to the public. Not the police.

Lady, it's been 12 days since that girl was abducted I think you may have calmed down enough to start talking.

I'm glad to see that there were hundreds of people there at the candlelight vigil but personally I don't understand candlelight vigils when a person is missing and time is of the essence. I think I had rather have those hundreds of people put out their candles and go bang on doors, pound the pavement and question every human being they come in contact with instead of huddling in a group somewhere.

Yes, that's what I remember as well.  Looks fine with no snow but that is very deceptive.

My husband was just in Anchorage and said he'd never seen the mounds of snow so high.  It really makes it difficult to see things that you normally would be able to see.  Days ago on one of Samantha's FB pages a woman reported that she had seen a man who seemed to be holding a woman as they walked down the street, but she was uncertain of the exact night.  She reported that the woman had on black leggings and a green sweater.  It has not been released, to my knowledge, what Samantha was wearing.  I am so frustrated over this case.  People are angry that APD is not releasing any info.  Rumors were swirling last night(again) that she had been found.  People accuse APD of being incompetent, but the FBI is on it too.   I don't know what to think.  Her father has not made any FB comments in a few days.

CARTFLY, KTUU is an Anchorage station.  I did not see this, but I would think that if that actually happened, we would hear more about it.  But then again, FB is the only place I saw the person post about possibly seeing the man and woman walking near Common Grounds, with the woman possibly being detained by the man.

No problem, my gut feeling is that there is a good reason they aren't releasing any more info than they have.  It is just so hard.  When it is so close(but really far geographically) it is especially hard.

Color me confused too...

The video has not been released publicly. Nor has Samantha's father seen it. James Koenig says he agrees with the police decision to withhold the tape. He says that its release would only encourage vigilantiism -- and he does not want that.

Anchorage police are following leads on the abduction of barista Samantha Koenig, as her father says he's set up a post-office box for members of the public hoping to send letters of support or tips.

APD says Koenig, 18, was last seen Feb. 1 in surveillance footage leaving Common Grounds Espresso, at the intersection of Tudor Road and Fairbanks Street, with an armed man on the night of Feb. 1.

Since her disappearance, family and friends have been pleading for her return.

I am concerned for Samantha's father.  He was set up in an RV in the parking lot where Samantha was taken, as a way to keep it in the public eye.  He has now moved it due to "safety concerns".  Besides that, there was that convicted sex-offender from Georgia, claiming to be a PI there to help him.  Father has been posting on his FB that he is willing to meet and help her abductor get away for the safe return of Sam.  I can understand his desperation, but this is turning him into a sitting duck, I am afraid.

Thanks for the updates Monkeys. I can not get past LE not releasing the surv video of Sam being abducted with the excuse that it would harm the prosecution/trial. Why in hell at this point would anyone care about a trial......she hasn't even been found, sounds azz backwards to me, jmho. I can't recall ever seeing a case like this....
Also I read that not even Samantha's Dad, James has seen the video footage.
The video would have been the first thing I would have wanted to see as a parent! If I was James, I would be getting pretty peed right about now.
