Joran van der Sloot's days of making deals is history. Birmingham will await him to make certain he never justs walk out of that Peruvian prison gate a free man in any lesser amount of time than his sentence for murdering Stephany Flores.

Yes I agree, I also like that he has stuck it out at RU and dishes it right back to those that were too drunk thickheaded stubborn, too close to the Sloots (or both) to do the same.

Beth:  Oh absolutely heroic, what a man, what a father, what a husband he is too... I mean my goodness.  What a business man he is...integrity.  And you know I will stand by Jossy because this is an individual that stepped forward for me, for human rights, and for justice.  And gosh what he did for me was he took such a burden off of me during the month of July of 05 when I felt as if I was kind of out there on the forefront by myself going against these perpetrators until Jossy Mansur stepped forward I felt like I had no other ally.  So you know he did the most amazing thing, and he went out on a limb and he you know for no reason other than doing the right thing and as I said being about professionalism, integrity, and respect for others human rights so absolutely what an amazing man.

Dana: Absolutely, I figured you would just use the word corrupt.  You know when you look at the media coverage of the story and you see that 99.999 percent of those that watch listen and read about this story care and want to see the answers, want to see your family get the justice that you all deserve.  Your take on how the media have handled all of this Beth.

Beth:  Well I think it’s been remarkable.  And I have gosh as I said you know my only allies in Aruba were the media and Jossy Mansur.  So I think they rank very high.  I mean and what a remarkable resource for parents or families to be able to mobilize when they’re faced with a crisis whether it’s a missing or murdered loved one they can be very powerful and they were just a great ally to me on the island of Aruba so I’m very grateful for them.  They were always very respectful too.

If the media wanted to get factual comments from Aruba media and not state run spin, they need not have contacted Aruba Today and Julia Renfro … what they should have done is contacted Jossy Mansur of Diario Aruba for the answers as Scared Monkeys did.

The following is Jossy Mansur in his own words regarding the bizarre similarities of the two murders that Joran Van der Sloot has been accused of, Natalee Holloway in Aruba and Stephany  Flores Ramirez in Peru.

“The story came as a shock, not because it was unexpected, but because another girl became the victim of this very sick young man. His actions are clearly those of a psychopath. He should be taken off the streets so he cannot cause any more pain to other families, including his own. The thought that comes into my mind is that if the Prosecution in Aruba had pressed charges against him and he was taken to court and sent to jail, this other girl might still be alive. There are consequences to actions (or lack of them) that speak louder than any amount of words.

The coincidences are also mind-boggling: during a poker tournament, he meets a girl in a casino, like he did Natalee; the girl appears dead in a room that he rented in an upscale hotel; he is seen with the girl at the hotel by the personnel present; the girl appears dead two or three days later, on the 29th of May going into the 30th of May, exactly on the same date and possibly hour that Natalee was killed. And on the fifth anniversary of Natalee’s death! It is practically unbelievable!” (Jossy Mansur)

I would love to see a current pic of Joran to see how he looks after just 5 months in a Peruvian hell hole prison without all the perks.  I bet he still cries into his pillow every night.

Look closely at that little photo in Jamcakes signature and he already looks that way!  Pallor and seems to have aged tremendously and badly.  At the risk of repeating myself too often, there is no way to make living in that place tolerable for someone who has lived such a life of privilege as Joran.

Now he is in the more remote one where goods and services are going to be more expensive and rare.  And I do believe that if he should be going to walk before Sr Flores is ready for him to, Flores would/could exercise all his options should that be the route he might chose to take.

I want what the families want.  When they feel justice, I feel justice.  I do not think I have the same rights as they in this regard.  When Beth says Midnight Express and Joran gets it, that's good enough for me.  Joran is very young and stupid.  I think as Christians both Beth and Dave (who has said so) would rather he seek God than get revenge on him if only he start by telling the truth.  And to someone that young (yes, I can remember even back that long ago) even a year can seem like eternity.  Time only flies for those of us on up in our years. 

But everything from here on out is a bonus as far as I am concerned because Joran is on his own Midnight Express and one I hope takes him right into federal court in Birmingham.  I agree with Ono that he finds it particularly disturbing that it is Alabama where his trial will be held.  But one of these days, Joran will realize he is not immortal and not getting any younger and that some day he will meet his Maker.  His own love of himself may at some point entice him to do the right thing.  I won't ever lose total hope of that.  Maybe then he might even decide to tell the truth at long last, who knows!
