Gary Giordano - another slime ball with the morals of an alley cat.  I wonder if he's a distant relative of the vdS's.

I think he's just a slime ball that admired what Joran and others have gotten away with in Aruba.  I'm afraid there are probably many more.

IIRC, the Caribbean Financial Task force on money laundering that Judge Rick Smid took part in, had a lengthy section on money laundering through real estate. I'm looking for my copy of the task force report, but I think it's in my defunct desk top computer.  Anybody have that report saved?

Caribbean Financial Action Task Force CFATF Typology Exercise II: Casino Regulatory Conference Aruba - July 16-17, 1997

The Nature and Extent of Money Laundering in the Casino and Gaming Industry Hon. Tennyson R.G. Wells, AG and Minister of Justice-The Bahamas
Mr. Rick Smid, National Public Prosecutor-Netherlands

Mr. Smid noted that Casinos are attractive to money launderers for a variety of reasons. One reason that Casinos are attractive to money launderers is because they offer a broad range of financial services including the issuing of credit, transfers of money into and out of bank accounts, currency exchanges services, issuance of checks and the acceptance of deposits.

be paid out in the form of a check or transferred to a bank account. While large deposits or withdrawals may cause unwanted attention, this may not be the case if such deposits or withdrawals are structured into smaller amounts. Money Launderers can also utilise Casinos to legitimise large amounts of proceeds by claiming they are gambling earnings.

REMEMBER..........

In Aruba, our Caribbean Mercantile Bank collected NAF 12 million in exchange tax,
which it pays to the Central Bank of Aruba for the Aruba government

http://www.mcb-bank.com/extra_pages/AnnualReport2005.pdf
page 16/50

THIS IS HOW IT WORKS

Paulus went to the Caribbean Mercantile Bank on Monday two times, deposited
money the second time that it is still unexplained where it came from
Paulus has MONEY and he needs to get rid of it - OFF TO THE BANK TO
GET IT LAUNDERED!

Once that money is deposited, it will go undetected as
it makes its way into the next hand -

maybe Mary Mary Quite Aruban, who needs
to have change for her daily T-shirt business to the Tourists down by the dock
when the ship rolls in.

Then Mister and Mrs. from the USA taking a Caribbean cruise for the
first time in their lives buys a T-shirt that says I love Aruba and they go to dine at
Carlos n' Charlies for lunch and head back to the ship by sunset and take pictures to upload to Webshots
and now they have dirty laundered cash in their hands. When they reach the next
morning's port, they go to the exchange booth (easy enough to find,( I know I have done this while traveling in in Luxembourg etc) and Mister hands over the dirty money that Paulus deposited
at CMB bank the morning before and that money is now in the hands of the  exchange bank booth.

See how easy it is. And if you are looking at 72 million visitors to Aruba, then you got a lot of washing routes to follow.

Thanks, Kermit, that's the report!  Unfortunately, the link doesn't take me to the full report.  I can get to the website, but not to the report with the typology exercises.

Anybody have the full report saved?

I still believe that Judge Rick Smid was anything but honorable.  He knew extensively the ins and outs of money laundering in the Caribbean having been the NL expert on it.  And Paulus was his good buddy.  When I put 2 and 2 together, I come up with dirty math.

I get the 404 message which to me means that some sites are being deleted or edited on the internet.   Not surprising with all the investigations going on behind the scenes into the financial world.

Sorry for the O/T  Monkey Devil!

Not really O/T.  They were born here in this thread.

Magnolia thank you for sharing Wreck's picture.  He is a handsome boy!

I remember the night those pups arrived and all the advice you received.  By the way I hope Hunter is also in good health.

Tibro, did you mean Hudson?  He's the wonder dog, love him!

Oh dayum  .... I got Hudson's name wrong.  I knew it started with "H"

I do hope Magnolia will forgive me and also give Hudson an extra pat from me.

Shoot, Tibro....Hudson doesn't care what you call him as long as you call him for dinner.

lol Magnolia - Hudson and his "Mom" are welcome to dinner any time.

And thank you TexasMom for setting me straight.

How sad to see Jossy looking so ill and frail.

He must have have bitter sweet thoughts at his grand-daughter's quinceanera celebrations and remembering all he went through to try to find answers about Natalee.

I know what you guys are saying. Father Time is a merciless pain in the booty. It looks like his illness has caused hair loss and he is trying to hide it.  ...but old man Joss sure looks good to me. I respect the man for refusing to be a coward and speaking out.

What a beautiful granddaughter he has --- pretty as a flower. Jossy is a very blessed and decent man. I am happy when I get to see him, no matter the condition. Keep on keepin' on, Jossy! an angelic monkey

Jossy is a hero, even though you'll never get him to admit it.

He did the right thing because it was the right thing to do.

It didn't win him a popularity contest in Aruba, either.

... but to this day, he still stands on his own to feet. (head held high - shoulders back)

He very well could die from standing on his own two feet, someday.

However, Paulus lived a life on his knees, and quite possibly, on all fours with his bum inclined - if the stories are true. (They are)

It's very hard to collapse from your knees. Most people collapse to their knees!

So, Paulus, like so many times in life --- just like in death.

You fell short, because you were a knock-kneed, sniveling, groveling, impotent, MORALLY BANKRUPT punk.

How did that court taste, Paulus?

Jossy - STILL STANDING.

What is the full or first name of the Wever woman who died and was buried close to the time Natalee went missing?

I looked on the Aruban Who's Who thread, but for some reason the alphabetical listings stopped with "s".

Joran, I hope you rot in prison for the rest of your miserable life, for what you did to Natalee's and Stephany's fathers.

Happy Father's Day to Dave Holloway and Ricardo Flores - may the special memories of your beautiful daughters sustain you today and everyday.
